Chapter 3: Mothers future, past yet to be told.

A lone figure stood at the edge of a towering building, made of stone and marble, as hundreds of houses stretched onwards, followed by towering coliseums, a man stood there wearing bronze armour, his leather skirt blowing in the draft of stray winds, foot steps approached from behind him as a man dressed in a white robe kneel. "Kaiser, I have to inform you, the old ones are not pleased with your expansion, they are threatening war." The man in bronze armour turned to look at the scribe, his bright red fur on his helmet blowing ever so. "So be it." The man spoke his voice echoed in the marble halls of the open column room. "Let them bring forth war, we shall rain fire." Walking past the in robes, he vanished in the endless halls of the Domus Flavia, his cold blue eyes fading as he walked into the darkness his eyes had countless stripes running through them they were white blocking most of the blue colour of his eyes.

As the footsteps fade echoing, Lilium eyes opened, the sunlight peeking through the holes in his walls, as dust floats around. "Kaiser..." the singular word left his mouth. Pushing himself up Lilium sat at the edge of his bed, looking at the wooden floor, minutes passed before he got up, picking up pieces of his clothes, he put them on, layer by layer, reaching out his hand, he picked up his pair of shoes before slipping them on, a steady breath left his mouth before he began moving to the exit of his room, standing in front of his mother's door he held his breath, raising his hand he rest it on her door, before turning and walking away, his footsteps echoing off the wooden boards of the house, colliding with the wooden leather bottom of his shoes.

Inside the bedroom, Florins sat on her bed, counting coins, her eyes moved to the door before going back to the coins, the fading footsteps made her pause, getting off her bed, she walked to her door, pushing it open, she spotted Lilium's back hair with brown accents as he descended the stairs, she swallowed the saliva building in her throat, before going back to get bed, picking up some of the coins, her grasp around then tightened. "It's enough..." She whispered. "It's enough we can leave. I can change." Her eyes moved on the bed looking at the hundreds of copper Reginae, dozens of silver Princeps and three Golden Regum, the copper Reginae were small, with dozens fitting in her hand, she packed handfuls of the copper Reginae in her pouch, then followed by the silver Princeps and Golden Regum, getting off her bed, the bedding covers fell to the ground, on her bed laid a frame alone with fur stacked thin.

Picking up her clothes she put on a long plain green dress, covering her long legs, the sleeves reaching her wrist, her hand stretched outwards picking up a knitted hair net, she tied her long brownish black hair with hints of rusty gold in a bun before putting on the net, picking up her coin purse she began walking to the door that stood in the middle of the wooden wall, each step she took the purse jiggled and shooked, the purse leaned on her side as the leather straps strained. Moving to the door, she opened it, glancing back to the bed there were hints of red followed by a pile of loose floorboards. She turned her head closing the door, she made her way down the creaking stairs, she walked around the halls brushing her hand against the walls of the splintering wood and collapsing boards, turning around she looked at the kitchen, an abundance of ingredients litter the countertop, from bags of wheat, pottery filled with rice and grain, honey filled clay jars and a pot filled with salt.

Closing her eyes, she walked to the exit, looking back once more she turned her back walking out. The muddy gravel street stretched on, her head raised as she walked down the street, passing crowds of people. Moving through the crowds she made her way to the Nobles View, looking back on the slums collapsed building of wood, children playing in the streets their clothes tattered, patched together, men hualing heavy lumber off the towering ships on the harbour, woman dressed in thinly vailed clothes standing on the streets. Her head turned to the stairs towering stretching to the nobles view, she took a step, each step moving one step ahead of each other, her hair began fluttering her hand resting on her head holding her hair, her dressed moved and twisted, the purse shaking with each step.

Soon the stone steps turned marble opening to the Nobles View. She continued walking through the nobles view passing the elongated towering building connected to each other forming walls of marble and engraved stones, the engravings were of the sun they litter the pathways and building, her gaze landed on a building, it had a dome cover, the outside had two massive pillars stretching upwards connecting a standing area, the building was conjoined with two others, stretching into the sides of the another wall overshadowing the nobles view.

Walking to the twin doors she pushed open the doors, inside was a lavishly decorated area, filled with men and women dressed in robes and golden neck bands, their robes were of silk and fine engravings, Florins stepped in, walking over to a counter. "Excuse me." Her words left her throat, her voice was smooth, soft and feminine. "I'd like to purchase a home." The man the opposite side of the counter gaze turned to her. "I suppose you know of the cost, a house cost eighteen silver Princeps in the merchant district." He said taking out a table. "Here's our standard." The man picked up a Ivory carved elongated pointer. "Over here we see the conversion rates kindly show you are capable of a purchase of this scale, as it can be done immediately if you have proper payment and seal showing you are of this nation." Her hand reached into the purse taking out a copper seal, placing it on the table, the clerk raised his eyebrow, picking up the piece of copper he looked behind him, there was hundreds of books behind him labeled by letter and date. "May I get your first and last name, origin of birth and year... Thought I might add year isn't as important especially after that war, the influx of refugees makes it impossible to... Grasp." The man said turning around, getting off the chair he walked over to the books. Her gaze turned to him. "My names is Florins, Florins Clamet of Lilia, my birth is within the capital city of Lilia the year was one hundred and one, I'm twenty eight years old."

The man turned to her raising an eyebrow. "Clamet... Clamet..." He muttered, his gaze looking at her, the tan brown skin, the long curled hairs reaching her breasts, the deep brown eyes. "Clamet... Your appearance is... Of the Lillians. So that checks the refugees box." His hand scratched under his chin. "Yet you have a seal of citizenship allowing you to purchase a house within the city of Senex." He picked up the bronze token, his hand reaching for a pair glasses, he held the token up to the window, his gaze looking over it. "It seems to be in order the markings are acceptable if not worn, it has the branding of the royal blacksmiths." He placed the token down, sliding it to her. "But unfortunately you need a man in your family to buy a property and only if said relative die only then can a woman by the law own land in the city."

Her gaze landed on the pouch. "I have a son..." Her voice was low barely audible. The man turned to her raising an eyebrow. "A son is he or age?" She nodded. "My son name is Lilium Clamet he's fourteen years of age." The man nodded. "Good, then we can continue the process, lay your coins out and let me convert them." Florins grabbed the pouch, the vains in her hand visible, before she placed it on the polished wooden table, the heavy bag echoed as everyone turned to look at her. "Wait... How would you confirm Lilium's information?" She turned to look at the man who was counting the coins, setting the Golden Regums in a separate corner there was three, before setting the thirty five silver Princeps in multiple stacks, followed by three hundred and sixty copper Reginae in a pile. "Miss Clamet you have more than enough for a nice house within the merchant District, as for your question we'll send someone to confirm the identity of your son Lilium Clamet was it?" She nodded looking at the clerk. "Yes his name is Lilium... He is my... Beloved son, even if he is going through changes." The clerk nodded, taking the three Gold Regum along with twenty Princeps and one hundred and sixty copper Reginae. "This should equal to five golden Regum Miss Clamet." He said turning around opening a drawer with a silver handle taking out a piece of paper with a ink stamp, it was old having a signature at the bottom. "Here we go, your now the owner or should I say your son is now the owner of property sixty one in the nobles view." Her eyes widen. "What..." Her eyes widen as she looked at the man, he nodded. "Yes you heard right miss Clamet, the Nobles view, I took five golden Regum enough for a four bedroom manor within the lower end of the Nobles view, it was a old property and we needed to get rid of it, the previous owners had it on the market for months now, originally it was seven golden Regum, but as it's not in the main sector of the Nobles view it was dropped to five. Your a lucky woman Miss Clamet, having enough gold and silver to purchase such a place." Her eyes shin with a gloss, as she clenched her fist picking up the deed. "Thank you." She muttered, looking down.

The man gathered the coin placing it in the pouch handing it back to her. "Here you go Miss Clamet, we'll have our officer check in a fortnight." Her hand reached out taking back the pouch. She nodded walking out, looking at the deed, the sunlight highlighted the stamp and signature, it has the signature of a general, she removed her finger from the name. "Har-Harf-" she stumbled over the name. "What the, I can't pronounce this... But it doesn't matter. Time to see my.... Our new home." A smile formed on her face, she tied the pouch back on her waist, walking around the Nobles view she passed dozens of people waking around, their heads held high propped up by the golden neck band. She walked through the nobles district narrows street, the building stretching long and upwards, soon she found herself in a large walkway in the centre of her district, she walked around, the marble and stone clacking as her heels hit the ground, eventually she stood Infront a manor, it stood tall stretching outwards, walking around she saw the building was curved in a triangular shape that centre having a fenced off court yard, she took a breath, opening the deed fully removing the key which was sealed with wax at the bottom, moving to the grand twin front doors she opened the door, as dust fell onto her. The dust in the manor was scattered by a stray gust, as it swirl around before settling.

The sound of flattering winds was heard echoing in the building. Her gaze turned to a raven, it stood inside the house on the prestine marble floors. It's dark blue eyes looking at her it dropped a crystalized ball, flying out a open window, the bird flew, it's winds flapping across the city of Senex it flew over the grand towering building of nobles view the marble walls and clay roofing gleaming in the sunlight, it dived down through the buildings, passing crowds of nobles and common folks, flying through a window it entered gliding through the halls a throne sat in the center a man sat in the chair, his hair was long and brown, his eyes a cold blue he was surrounded by four woman one older three younger and two younger boys, the raven flew exiting through a window before diving down descending rapidly, the marble buildings slowly turned to stone as it landed on a roof, it's dark blue eyes, reflecting a blacksmith hut, near the hut there was a medium size house larger than most in the area, a boy exit the house with a hammer in hand.

Lilium gaze slowly moved up looking at the bird perched on the building, he tilted his head before walking back inside the house. "Animae there's a strange bird outside!" His voice echoed as he walked through the wooden halls of the house. Animae walked out holding two blades, his gaze landed on the raven. "Huh... A raven. Haven't seen a raven in years." Turning to Lilium he threw a blade at him. "Come, we have to finish and sharpen these blades." The raven gaze stayed on Lilium, before it flew off a single black feather fell down landing in the outdoor forge. Lilium walked behind him, holding the blade. "Who is this for now? Someone important." Animae nodded, walking to the grindstone. "More or less someone from the Nobles From Lady Ecce Din." Lilium eyes widen as he looked at the blade. "Maybe I can stay in the forge and clean up while your drop the blade off I want to go home early, I-" Animae shook his head. "Aye." Was all he said turning the grindstone, Lilium blinked. "You aren't jesting?" Animae nodded, moving the blade across the grindstone. "If you want to go home early it's fine, you've been working late hours since you started here." He flipped the blade, as he continued grinding it on the rolling stone. "You can even leave now if you want and still get a full days pay I don't really mind considering all the work is finished entire way."

Lilium nodded walking thought the stone streets, passing merchants and stores. Voices echoing throughout the entire district. "Crab! Crab! One Reginae for two!" A voice echoed, Lilium turned around looking at the man, walking closer he pushed through the crowd, of men and woman, he walked towards the vendor. The vendor was an old man, his hair was white and fading leaving spots across his head, barely covered by thin strains of grey hair, he was dressed in a yellow tunic and wearing torn breeches. Lilium eyes moved up then down before his mouth open"Eh? A Reginae? A Reginae for something I can get for free." The vendor waved his hand. "When you put it like that it's very silly, but I did put in the work of catching the crab, bringing them to your comfort as well as bundling them up for sale." The man's face bend into a smile. "Say, you have a decent pouch on you care to buy some crabs from a old fisherman?" Lilium took out his pouch filled with a handful of Reginae, he took out two handing it to the man."four crabs." The man smiled tieing the crab claws tiger in twine before handing the bundle of crabs to him, the crabs pinched at each other their legs dangling kicking out. Lilium took the crabs, before handing the man two coins.

Leaving with the crab in hand he looked at them. "You poor helpless bastards... I'm going to steam you all." His voice dropped to a mummer before he made his way to the bride of connections. Walking up the stairs he walked down the stone path. Pushing past dozens of men, woman and children on the bridge, he made his way back the back district as stone turned to marble he made his way through the Noble's view he walked with the crabs in hand passing the nobleman and woman dressed in fine robes and embroideries of the sun, he walked looking at the crabs they pulled each other down, clawing at each other. His gaze kept on the crabs as he continued walking bumping into someone. He pulled back reaching into his pocket but was empty.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

"Huh?..." A soft voice echoed, Lilium's eyes turned to the figure, it was Ebur, he was wearing fine silk robes, his neck band was around his neck a latch was missing from it, Ebur's face has bruises and purplish blue marks on his cheeks his long platinum hair was tied back in a ponytail, his emerald green eyes shifting around. "Oh the pretty boy. Did think your daddy would let you walk the streets again." A grin formed at the edge of Lilium's mouth. "So, Ebur? Elber! Or whatever you call yourself. What you doing here." Ebur's gaze turned to Lilium. "It's Ebur Voluntarius thank you very much, and I'm allowed to walk where I please!" Lilium rolled his eyes walking around him. "Ah, does that mean you can waltzs into the king's castle and tell them to do a better job?" Ebur fixed his robes. "That's not a fair comparison! I meant I can walk anywhere I want in public." Lilium stopped. "Heh... Hey pretty boy." He raised the crabs in front of Ebur, Ebur pulled back. "Get those away from me!" His voice echoed as other nobles stopped and stare. "What afraid of a little crab? Oh no they gonna bite my favorite golden ring finger! Gonna cry?"

Ebur pulled back. "Stop embarrassing me!" He grabbed Lilium's hand pulling him into an alleyway between two towering marble buildings. "Why! Why you!" Ebur walked around, clenching and unclenching his fist. "Lilium! You are a fool! And you're so! So very much foolish!" Lilium waved his hand leaning against a wall. "Don't have to call me foolish twice you know."

Ebur approach him, leaning against the opposite wall. "Why are you buying... Bugs?" Lilium looked up at him waving his hand. "There crabs, there not bugs." Ebur pointed to the crabs. "Those things are definitely bugs, looks like spiders... Or cockroaches." Lilium rubbed his hand through his hair. "Look Ebur, they taste amazing I don't care if they look like spiders." His eyes darted over to Ebur, Ebur looked at him for a moment his eyes moving the crabs and to Lilium, a heavy breath left Lilium's mouth. "Look at it this way, spiders are fuzzy and filled with goopy crap, crabs are hard-shell and filled with tender meat, and a major difference being crabs are delicious spiders are not." Ebur fiddled with his hand he gulps before taking a breath. "You ate spiders?" Lilium nodded he stretched a yawn coming from him. "You get desperate during the shortages, you can have all the money yet you can't afford food, kinda funny kinda not I don't know, but what I do know I like crabs because it was easy to get. And tastes a whole lot better than spiders."

Ebur stopped fiddling with his hands his face was pale. "Oh uh, um... I see well that's... A interesting fact" he looked at Lilium, Lilium's cold blue eyes cutting through his emerald green eyes, he leaned against the wall his vision blurred as his vision began to spin. "That's a interesting fact... Uh maybe I can try a piece of that... Crab? If it's so good." Lilium shrugged walking off. "You coming or what?" Ebur walked behind him as Lilium walked out of Nobles View, he walked down the streets of towering marble and glass before reaching a staircase leading down to the back district, he walked down as the stairs ended turning into dirt, gravel and harden mud, Ebur walked behind him saying close to Lilium. "Uh, something the matter? You seem awfully jumpy... More so than usual." Ebur pulled away. "Why I'm a Squire! I'm just in a strange place that I don't understand." Lilium rolled his eyes, walking through the slums they passed brothels open the sicking sweet smell of perfume coming from within, whores leaning against buildings or entering homes and the labourers hauling lumber and stone. "Welcome to den of whatever you call this." Lilium said walking past everything ignoring the calls of woman, and the calls of men. Ebur looked at him. "Are you just going to allow them to do that? I mean it's not my place to comment but he called your mother a whore!" Ebur grabbed Lilium's shoulder. "You must do something, if you don't they'll keep doing that." Lilium's gaze met Ebur his cold blue eyes sharp. "No Ebur, let them speak I can't afford to have a run in with the law, I'm not stupid." Ebur let go of his shoulder. "I don't know you well. But I know one thing if you allow disrespect they'll keep disrespecting you. I'm not strong like you to fight for my honour other people do that for me which makes me feel weak but your not bound by weakness you can do something about it, I can give you the coins to get out." Lilium looked down. "Oh... You will, will you now?" Ebur nodded his hand opening his pouch to show dozens of Golden Regum. "Well pretty boy. This changes a few things." Lilium reached into Ebur's pocket. "Lilium what are you doing?" Ebur pulled away as Lilium took out a knife. "I knew you'd have this. My knife." Lilium exhaled, gripping his knife, Ebur stood behind him both his hand rested on Lilium's shoulders. "You have to defend your honor and your mother's honour." Ebur leaned in whispering in Lilium's ear. Ebur closed his eyes leaning on Lilium's back. "Do as you must." Lilium looked at the knife. "Is it really worth it? Killing someone because of the way they speak." He clenched the knife, as his hand began to shake. "Even if what they say is true?" Ebur squeezed his shoulders. "Well that's your choice, you can do whatever you want." He rested his head on Lilium's shoulder. "I have knights and what's not to protect me and defend my honour." Ebur's eyes open looking at the sneering man. "And my knights would have immediately strike them down, but I supposed honour isn't a luxury you can afford... Such a shame."

Lilium stood there. "Your awfully close to me, if I'm such a shame why are you hanging off my back?" Ebur wrapped his arms around Lilium's neck. "I'm getting sick of burly men, always ready to fight and kill. I like you Lilium, Smart strong, capable and level headed even when offered the opportunistic moment to extort me and kill that man, getting wealth and the satisfaction of both." Ebur let go of Lilium's neck brushing his robes clean before walking in front of Lilium. "I like that." He looked at Lilium his eyes locking with Lilium's eyes. "I want you do be my servant, my personal knight. My blade." Ebur extended his hand, to Lilium, Lilium slapped his hand away. "Listen Ebur, I'm not going to be a servent." He paused looking at Ebur. "Unless you can defeat me in a battle then I'll join you." Ebur held his hand. "Why..." He kicked a rock. "I'm offering you a way out of here. And you rejected me?" He closed his eyes. "Fine, Lilium? What's your last name?"

Lilium walked down the gravel path to his house. "Clamet. Lilium Clamet." Ebur walked behind him. "Lilium of house Clamet? It has quite the Lillian feel to it. Like the Lillian Royal family from Lilia." Lilium shrugged. "I don't even know anymore, I got it from my mother she doesn't speak about her family much." Ebur continued walking behind him. "So... Your a immigrant?" Lilium's eyes turned to Ebur. "I... Not really I was born in Senex so I'm a citizen of The Domain of Sōl, my mother has citizenship and well." Lilium continued walking, the gravel crushing under his feet until he met his home, the old wooden building slanted. "You live here? In this... Uh." Lilium raised his hand. "Dump? Yes." Lilium walked in removing his shoes at the door before walking in, Ebur walked in behind him. "I was going to say... Rustic." Lilium picked up logs throwing them in a opening gap of the clay over before he stuck shaved wood within the clay oven, he took out a piece of stone and a piece of mental before hitting together creating sparks as the tinder caught in fire, he blew near the fire as it grew before he covered it with a metal sheet.

Ebur stood near the frame watching as he moved around the room. "I'm assuming your going to be making those bugs" Lilium threw the crabs in a bucket of water before turning to Ebur. "Their crabs not bugs, now if you'll allow me." He took out his knife, before he cut one of the crabs free, using his knife he stabbed down on the crab head making a slit half way before ripping it in half, throwing it back into another bucket of water. Ebur covered his mouth. "Wasn't that too... Violent?" Lilium shrugged as he continued cleaning the crabs, he put a clay jar over the fire filling it with water, he began adding spices and a few herbs with a spoonful of salt, after the water got heated he threw the many pieces of crabs in then covered the clay pot with a wooden lid before turning to Ebur. "It's just a few crabs, your acting as if I stabbed a dog in front of you." Ebur walked over, he looked at the clay pot before turning to Lilium. "You might as well did that. Like that was hard to watch." Lilium rubbed his hand through his hair. "Well princess should have turned around, and you wanted me to stab a man." Ebur looked at him "hmph, point taken." He turned around walking through the house. "Where can I find a chair?" Lilium pointed to the stairs. "Sit on the step."

Ebur shook his head. "No! What?!" Lilium rolled his eyes cutting up potatoes, sweet potatoes and yams. He took out cup fulls of flour, and a cup of water with a half tea spoon of salt and tea spoon of sugar. He mixed the solid ingredients together before picking up the water mixing it will the mixture making a thick dough, opening the lid throw through potatoes and yams in before picking up small scoops of the dough in his hand placing them in the boil one small hand scoop at a time, eventually the mixture was finished, Lilium washed his hand walking to the stairs "Suit yourself princess." Lilium sat on the step. The board bend under his weight as he stretched out his arms. "I'm going to relax your gonna stand I don't know around half an hour, maybe more." Lilium closed his eyes as the smell of herbs and spices flow through the air, Ebur sniffed the air, before sitting on a step below Lilium. "It smells... Nice." Lilium hummed closing his eyes."uh... So you'd be my knight if I won?" Lilium hummed again his hand resting over his eyes. Ebur sat there fiddling with his fingers. "It's very uncomfortable..." Lilium sat there leaning against the wall, he hummed once again a heavy breath escaping his mouth.

Ebur removed his robes resting it on that railing of the stairs, he was wearing a white silk shirt with gold accents around the edges his pants was a black wool, and his shoes were black. "Much better." He stretched walking around the house, his shoes echoed throughout the empty hallway. "It's very... Spacious." Ebur walked to the back of the kitchen passing the boiling pot. He looked out the window, the ocean scratched onwards filled with massive ships on the harbour the ships had different writings in languages he couldn't understand Ebur leaned on the windowsill before the sea salt and the smell of rotting fish hit his nose, he covered his nose. "The view is beautiful but the smell." He gagged before walking away. "Blah." He wiped his mouth walking back to the stairs he looked at Lilium. "How are you so strong? Your life doesn't seem to bad, your kitchen is full, you use expensive ingredients, you have the best house in the slums, you have proper clothes..." Ebur looked at his hand, his fingers filled with rings filled with diamonds and stones. "Yet you are strong." Ebur exhaled, his gaze dropping to the ground. "Is your life always like this? Or is merely that I found you during a major change within your life. You mentioned eating spiders, I can't comprehend that. Yet." Ebur walked around. "The outside of your home is nothing to look at but inside isn't bad, it's clean and stock up, it's a picture of a perfect low middle class. This doesn't look like poverty."

Ebur walked near the exist looking out the window. "Compare to those people outside your... Lucky. But compared to me... Your suffering." Ebur gulped. "How hard was your life Lilium? Is your life always like this? I don't know. But I know one thing, you will be my blade and you will help me." He turned around looking at the stairs. "You will help me take control of my family's enterprise. I will defeat you, and when I do you'll be my blade to command." Eventually the door opens as Florins walked in, her dress was dirty filled with dust, her hair held particals of dust. Ebur jumped walking to the stairs, he shook Lilium awake. "Lilium someone came!." Lilium eyes open as he looked at the door looking at his mother.

Lilium got up looking at her, Florins down her head. "Uh... Mother." Florins head raised. "Lilium I didn't know you brought a guest over." Lilium looked at Ebur. "This is Ebur he's a friend from Nobles view." She nodded walking over to Lilium, sniffing the air. "Oh you cooked today, I'll just go upstairs." She walked past Ebur walking upstairs, Lilium grabbed her hand. "Mom..." He looked down, his face growing pink. "I'm sorry..." He muttered under his breath. "Huh?" Florins looked at him, Lilium looked up. "I said I'm sorry and I made more than enough for everyone." A smile formed on Florins face as she sat on the stairs, Lilium walked over to the kitchen taking out three bowls and spoons, he walked over to the clay oven throwing a ladle of water over the flames before removing the wooden cover, he dished out the thick broth with pieces of crabs the crabs was cut in half and chunks of root vegetables were floating in the thick broth. He carried two bowls over before returning for his own.

He sat at the bottom of the stairs looking at his meal. "I'm... Truly sorry." Florins looked down from the stairs. "There's no need to be sorry Lilium." Ebur swirl the broth around looking at the bowl. Lilium picked up a spoonful of his broth before eating it chewing chunks of potatoes. Ebur looked at Lilium before following, he took a picked up a spoonful of the broth before sipping it. "Wow... It's so flavourful." Ebur put the spoon in his mouth as he continued eating, Florins gaze landed on Lilium. "We'll speak later dear, we have a guest." She picked up a spoonful of the broth before eating it. "It tastes amazing Lilium." He nodded as he continued eating his meal, Ebur looked at Lilium. "So uh." He scratched his head looking at the half empty bowl inside was a few pieces of crab, the legs added to the body split in half. "How do I eat this? Or is it just flavour dressing." Ebur took another bite of the broth, Lilium looked up at him, breaking off a leg he looked at Ebur before crushing it between his teeth and removing the flesh. "Like this." Ebur copied his movements biting into that hardshell of the crab a loud crack echoed, as he used his hand ripping apart the shell. "It's very time consuming for such... Little meat." He placed the stringy meat in his mouth a smile forming across his face. "But it's... Very nice." He continued taking spoonfuls of the broth. They all ate in silence. Eventually they finished their meal, Ebur set down his bowl, holding his hands in his lap. "I should be going, it's getting quite late." Lilium nodded leaning against the railing of the stairs. "Yeah that makes sense, you sure you can walk alone princess? Considering you know bandits." Ebur nodded standing up. "I can, after all I may be weak but that doesn't mean I'm defenceless Lilium." He walked over to the exit opening the door he, stood there for a moment. "Thank you for the meal it was a refreshing change of palate." He walked away closing the door behind him.

Lilium's gaze moved to the kitchen where he saw Florins washing the bowls using water from a bucket and a cloth to wash the bowls using ashed wood. He sighed walking up the stairs, he walked to his bedroom walking to the window, he pushed opened it looking out, he saw Ebur walking away a few blocks away surrounded by the local guards. "Huh, guess he really does have anything at his finger tips." He yawned leaning over the edge of his window as the sun sets over the blue ocean, the shouting of the common folks echoed in his ears, followed by the bells of the church. He closed his eyes as the waves crashed onto the shores, his eyes slowly open watching ships sail out in the distance, massive towering ships. And on the docks men were hurling wooden boxes off, each box bearing the emblem some of the emblems were of a flower, some were of animals and a majority of them held the emblem of the sun, the wooden boxes with emblem of the sun were mainly the ones being loaded on, the other ones were being loaded off.
