  Thank you for everyone that pushed me through this troubling writer's block.

  I started I started in on the Wintertide notes even before I started working on volume 4 (The Mage King) and I got to a pushing off point with an outline I was happy with around late 2024, where I started the first draft in the fall. I got about to chapter 13 or 15 when I noticed my momentum dying...rust on the cogs...tears in my raft. I thought I should start posting to Royal Road as a first draft preview because that might keep my motivation up and by april 2025 I was just done. Anything I squeezed out was the last of my energy and goodwill for the series.

  In the meanwhile I i was suffering from a depression due to a midlife crisis. I turn 42 in April this year and I havent really done much with my life. Sure I wrote a few books, ran over a stop sign with a tank and slept in mortar filled nights in iraq, but i have no partner, i have no kids, this is my legacy...this...these books are all that i have for people when i pass and barely no one knows they exist.

  Are they good books. id say so, but i know I wrote the first two like 10 years ago!

For a book on royal road thats considered ancient....thank you for this resurgence of interest.

  I have a chapter i left halfway finished, so Ill get to writing that today and put that up later today

  I have to review my outline, but im hoping to get another chapter or two done this weekend.
