Optimism

I was originally going to call this speech (I will call it something as Annie always told me you can’t have a speech without a name), ‘Annie’ after her, but realized it would be better to choose a word. For the four years she was on this earth, Annie was nothing but happiness and joy. She had heart defects, an oxygen tank, and breathing difficulty but she still pushed on—she still loved life and loved living in it.

I remember the day we brung that oxygen tank home. I had to carry the tank myself on my back, while Annie kept looking around and making comments and laughing. She was so happy and innocent even in a time like that, and that’s when I realized.

Annie had so much trouble up to her final hours, yet she was still showing optimism and laughing as much as she could. And I think that’s the word that represents her, optimism, So I'll choose that word for the name.

  I love you all.
