Daoist Singularity's words were like throwing a bloody steak into a pool of starving sharks.
The Slayer walked up to the holographic map. The shadow cast by his massive frame completely eclipsed the tiny dot representing the "Netherworld."
He didn't speak. He simply extended a finger encased in dark green armor and stabbed it hard into the dark area Singularity had indicated.
It was the edge of the map, an unexplored void.
[Target Acquired.]
Singularity watched the red light flare up on the Slayer's visor and secretly exhaled.
"I knew it. Only this kind of thing gets him excited," Singularity thought. "He didn't come here to cultivate Dao; he came here to raid dungeons."
To prevent the Slayer from reverting to his "accidental discharge" grumpy state due to waiting, Singularity immediately pulled up a prepared PPT (yes, he had prepared even this).
"Great Warrior, look."
Singularity swiped with his stylus, and the hologram shifted instantly.
It was a star map of dizzying complexity. In the center, there was no Heaven or Netherworld, but a massive vortex glowing with dark red light.
"This is 'The Abyss' (The Infinite Void)."
Singularity circled the vortex with his stylus.
"Based on my reverse-engineering of the Blood Sea Ancestor's soul fragments, that guy was just a bit of 'residue' excreted by the Abyss. He only ruled the Netherworld because the Netherworld is a closed LAN (Local Area Network)."
"But here..." Singularity pointed to the Abyss. "This is the Public Server. The Master Server of Demons."
"The demon density here is 500 times that of the Netherworld. The environment is 1.000 times worse than the Blood Sea. Even the air floats with crystallized viral particles."
Singularity paused, stealing a glance at the Slayer's reaction.
Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
A normal person would have wet themselves hearing this description.
But the Slayer...
His helmet tilted forward slightly.
He heard the keywords:
"Density 500x."
"1000x Worse."
What did that mean?
It meant he didn't have to walk two steps to find a target.
It meant he didn't have to worry about breaking the environment.
It meant... an all-you-can-kill buffet.
The Slayer's fingers grasped at the empty air, as if he were already choking a demon.
King Yama, seeing the Slayer's interest, summoned his courage and leaned in. He didn't understand servers or LANs, but he understood one thing:
The God of Death is leaving. He's going to plague someone else.
"Minister Singularity!" Yama was so excited his beard shook. "Such a treacherous place requires a hero like the Warrior to... to pacify it! For the peace of the Three Realms, I... I fully support this!"
"Uhh... if travel expenses are an issue, I'll approve it! I'll sell the Bridge of Helplessness for scrap metal if I have to!"
The Slayer ignored Yama's fawning.
He looked at Singularity and made a simple tactical hand signal:
Go.
Singularity nodded, his smile fading into seriousness.
"Going there isn't easy."
"It's in another dimension. Conventional teleportation won't work. We need to build a 'Cross-Realm Gate' capable of tearing through dimensional barriers."
Singularity pulled a blueprint from his tool bag.
"I need to mobilize all the Netherworld's energy. I need to overclock the Geothermal Plant on the 6th Layer. I need to use the spatial rift in the 1st Layer as a base."
He looked at the Slayer solemnly.
"Most importantly, I need an 'Anchor' that can withstand spatial tearing."
Singularity pointed to the Slayer's infinite ammo pouch.
"Great Warrior, when you killed the Blood Sea Ancestor, did you keep any... 'leftovers'?"
The Slayer paused for a second.
He reached into his dimensional pocket and rummaged around.
Then, he pulled out a still-beating, pitch-black "Heart Fragment."
It was a piece he had kept when crushing the Ancestor's core. Not for collection, but simply because it felt satisfying to squeeze—like a stress ball.
Singularity's eyes lit up.
"That's it! The source of a Primordial Demon God! Only this can locate the coordinates of the Abyss!"
Comfort vs. Conquest.
The Netherworld had become too comfortable.
Comfort is the grave of a hero, but the cradle of a bureaucrat.
Yama wanted comfort, so he wanted the Slayer gone.
The Slayer wanted conquest, so he didn't want to stay a moment longer.
It was a perfect win-win.
"Operation: Divert the Disaster."
Singularity named the mission in his mind.
"Since the Netherworld can no longer contain this giant, let the demons of the Abyss... experience true horror."
The Slayer tossed the black heart to Singularity.
He turned, shouldered the BFG, and strode out of the Yama Palace.
His steps were lighter, more powerful than when he arrived.
Because he knew.
A New Map was opening.
"Next Chapter: Reverse Engineering. Singularity builds a Stargate in Hell. The Slayer says: Hurry up, my chainsaw is thirsty."
