Chapter 41: Anatomy in the Dismemberment Hell

The metal door was kicked flying, smashing heavily into the opposite wall, turning into a metal disc.

  Thirteenth Layer: Dismemberment Hell.

This place didn't look like an execution ground; it looked more like a precise and bloody biological factory.

The hall was extremely wide, the ceiling hung with countless mechanical arms and infusion tubes. Arranged neatly on the ground were metal dissection tables, each securing a ghost or low-level demon that had been disemboweled.

The air smelled of ozone and preservatives.

  "Intruders."

  A cold voice rang out.

In the center of the hall floated three high-level demons wearing bone robes and burning with hellfire—Arch-viles (The Great Summoners).

They were the doctors of Hell, and also Necromancers.

As they waved the flame staffs in their hands, the corpses originally lying on the dissection tables (including those Slayer had killed in the upper layers just now, somehow transported here) suddenly began to twitch.

  Zzzzt—

  Limbs regrew, wounds healed.

Dozens of Hell Knights and Mancubi that Slayer had already killed once stood up shakily. Their eyes burned with an unnatural yellow fire—the sign of forced resurrection.

  Slayer wasted no words.

  He drew his Super Shotgun.

  Meat Hook fired!

The chain hooked onto the nearest Hell Knight. Slayer flew into the air, blowing its head apart with one shot.

  BANG!

  The Knight fell.

But in less than two seconds, the headless corpse stood up again. New flesh sprouted from the neck stump, and a new head was rapidly forming.

The Summoners in the back let out shrill laughter. As long as they lived, the corpses here were infinitely regenerating meat shields.

Slayer landed. He didn't continue tangling with these minions.

His gaze locked onto the three Summoners floating in the air.

  The Source.

  Slayer switched weapons. Chainsaw engaged.

He activated Dash Mode, smashing through the blocking minion horde like a cannonball.

One Summoner tried to summon a fire wall to block.

Slayer didn't slow down at all. He smashed through the fire wall (Praetor Suit shields overloaded instantly, but he didn't care).

  He jumped onto that Summoner.

  Vrrrrm-Vrrrrm-Vrrrrm!!!

The chainsaw cut in from the Summoner's head.

But this Summoner reacted extremely fast, raising its arms to block. Hard bone armguards jammed the chainsaw.

  Stalemate.

Slayer didn't continue pressing down. He suddenly released one hand and grabbed the glowing Spine exposed on the Summoner's back (this was its energy core).

  Snap!

Slayer's fingers pierced its back like steel pincers, forcibly tearing out a vertebra.

The Summoner's spell was interrupted instantly, letting out a wretched scream.

Immediately after, Slayer pulled the chainsaw horizontally.

  Splurt!

  The Summoner's head flew off.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

This time, it didn't resurrect. The dozen resurrected corpses controlled by it also fell down like puppets with cut strings.

Singularity hid behind a distant pillar, seeing clearly through binoculars.

  "Beautiful! Spine Severing Technique!"

Singularity excitedly recorded on his tablet: "So the Arch-vile's energy transmission relies on spinal nerves! Once severed, the resurrection spell fails!"

  Slayer didn't stop. Two left.

Seeing this, the remaining two Summoners immediately summoned more guards and even activated the surrounding laser cutters to attack Slayer.

Red laser beams shot wildly across the hall.

Slayer slid, dodging a laser, and smoothly picked up a giant demon scalpel from the ground.

He used the scalpel as a throwing knife.

  Whoosh!

The scalpel accurately pierced the knee joint of the second Summoner. Losing balance, it fell from mid-air.

Slayer rushed up, stepping on its chest.

He didn't use a gun. He grabbed the Summoner's two casting arms with both hands.

  Rip!

Violent tearing. The two arms were pulled out by the roots.

Without casting mediums, the Summoner was useless. Slayer casually punched its head into pieces.

The last Summoner tried to flee.

Slayer raised his shoulder launcher and fired an Ice Bomb.

The Summoner was frozen in mid-air.

Slayer jumped up. This was a Glory Kill.

From top to bottom, he double-fist slammed the Summoner's shoulders.

  Crash!

  The ice sculpture shattered.

  Battle over.

The hall was left with only a floor of shredded corpses that could no longer resurrect.

Daoist Singularity ran out, holding various jars and scanners.

He rushed to the Summoner corpse that was dismantled the most thoroughly.

"Let me see... let me see..."

Singularity used tweezers to pick up a glowing gland.

"This is a 'Resurrection Gland'! Contains extremely high concentrations of Life Essence! Big Hero, your cut just now was too precise, exactly avoiding the gland core!"

Slayer was wiping the gore off his chainsaw.

He glanced at the disgusting piece of meat in Singularity's hand.

  Not interested.

He looked at the passage leading to the next layer—blocked by a heavy biological door (looking like a giant mouth).

Slayer walked over, cut a hole in the "mouth" with his chainsaw, and crawled in.

Singularity hurriedly stored the sample and waved to the Yin Soldiers behind:

"Quick! Move these Arch-vile corpses back! This is excellent material for studying 'Immortality'! Don't lose the spines!"

  "Cruelty vs Science."

Under Slayer's violent dismantling, the most mysterious resurrection mechanism of Hell was thoroughly shattered.

And under Singularity's microscope, these secrets became new branches on the Underworld's tech tree.

  "Bioengineering, GET."

"Next chapter, Fourteenth Layer: Volcano Hell. Slayer needs to borrow a light... or rather, he's going there to set a fire."
