Ellio and Akitsu were sitting talking.

  Elytra reminded herself that if she wasn’t going to judge Akitsu and Zephyr by the events of the story then she should offer the same to Ellio and her guard Drone.

  Ellio was known to have attempted to befriend Akitsu. She attempted to save the girl but she was pulled away before Akitsu could prove to be a danger.

  The story didn’t say it but Elytra was pretty sure that loosing the only person who tried to be her friend was one of the biggest things that made Akitsu’s mind so easy to break.

  That though wasn’t who Akitsu was now.

  “Elytra!” Akitsu called standing and waving Elytra over.

  Drone barely looked at her but his eyes darted around looking for Zephyr probably.

  Stupid. Zephyr never had lunch with them.

  Elytra sat with Akitsu.

  Ellio looked over Elytra once again as if trying to read her.

  It didn’t bother Elytra not when she’d spent her whole life being observed by Zephyr.

  “Elytra… I don’t know how to bring this up. I am only concerned. Your brother… He has a darkness in him.” Ellio breathed looking at her with a warm sincerity and concern.

  Elytra twitch but sucked in a breath. Elytra also took time to see Zephyr.

  “And I don’t?” Elytra asked hold her gaze. Ellio paused and blinked looking her over.

  She opened and closed her mouth as if the question confused her.

  Interesting.

  “My brother and I have been through a lot. We know him better then anyone and I promise that I will always protect those I love even from their darkness.” Elytra offered.

  Drone narrowed his eyes at Elytra.

  And she met the glare.
