Chapter 1: The principe Ketsual

Humanity, beings constituted with intelligence, virtues, ignorance, vices, goodness, evil, a social and asocial being. In these simple words, the human being can be summarized. A being inhabited by a strong duality, two opposing things within the same being.

We all know this about humanity, what we don't know is our origin... well, in this story, they do know.

The sun was just emerging from its hiding place in the mountains, its light illuminating a city, the capital of a kingdom. That light pierced the grand capital until it reached the red curtains of a room, bathing the room in a reddish hue.

A soft groan was heard from the large bed in the room, then another, and after a while, it ceased. It seemed the one sleeping in that bed had finally drifted off to sleep again.

The movement of a doorknob was heard, followed by a voice.

"Prince Ketsual, get up now," said a young voice, but with an authoritative tone.

Her footsteps echoed across the room, followed by the sound of curtains being drawn back, allowing the light to flood in.

The earlier groan was heard again.

"Oh, please, Miss Leva, just one more hour," said a voice from under the covers; it was a somewhat high-pitched voice with a low tone.

"Oh, you want to keep sleeping, I should have known. Of course, Prince Ketsual, you can rest—as if I'd say that!!" Immediately afterward, Miss Leva grabbed the bedclothes and yanked them off, revealing a boy, about eight years old, with a slender build, a bowl haircut, and hair as white as snow.

"Aaahh, Miss Leva, please, the light is burning me!" Ketsual cried, writhing in imagined pain.

Leva sighed at the prince's behavior. "Please, Prince Ketsual, you must remember that you are the successor to the Golden Kingdom. You will be the leader of a kingdom with more than 100 planets under your rule. Therefore, you must abandon this childish attitude and study hard so you can lead your reign."

"I don't want to, I don't like long study sessions." Ketsual reneged.

"I'm sorry, Prince, but as your maid I have to take him to the study room, with or without his permission," Leva said, then showcase a bag.

Ketsual seeing that bag, with a leather texture and a particular size, wanted to move, run, run away, but it was very late.

  .

  .

  .

"Let me go!! I don't want to study!!" Ketsual shouted, still tied up inside a leather bag that Leva carried easily on his back.

"Prince, accept your fate... we've arrived." Leva and Ketsual stood before an oak door. Opening it revealed a large room, but it contained nothing but a desk and a large blackboard.

The room had no windows; its ceiling was largely made of glass, allowing light to enter without any outside distractions.

There stood a gentleman, his gray hair and beard hinting at his advanced age, but his well-built physique belied his youth.

"You arrived just in time, Miss Leva and Prince Ketsual," the older man remarked.

"Good morning, Professor Milto, here is your pupil," Leva said, entering the room and placing Ketsual in his chair.

With that, she bid them both farewell and left the room.

"Alright, let's begin," Milto said, turning to look at the blackboard.

"Wait!! I'm still tied up!" Ketsual complained, trying to free himself.

"Oh, of course, excuse me, Prince, I'll get you out of there right now."

And so he did... with only his upper half free to move his hands and take notes. This had happened many times before, and Ketsual had tried to remove the bag many times, but without success, so he decided to just attend the classes.

"Very well, let's see what you learned yesterday. Tell me what you remember about the text 'Origin and Master.'

"Um, sure... 'Origin and Master,' well, it's the story of a little girl in a red riding hood and the big bad wolf who—"

Before he could continue, Milto interrupted him. "That's from a children's story. Don't you really remember what we saw yesterday?"

Ketsual, faced with that question, decided to remain silent and look away.

Milto sighed before continuing, "Alright, let's look at it again. Pay attention. The story 'Origin and Master' tells the origin of our universe, where the gods Nighty, Luminity, Earthy, Warty..."

Ketsual stopped listening after the third god; there were too many for his mind. But he listened again when it finally ended.

"And Skyty, all the gods spread their beings into the vastness of the universe to fill their empty world, thus creating planets. But despite filling it with many planets, they still felt the same emptiness as before."

So, Brother Life, Lify, proposed the creation of beings to inhabit the planets, to fill them with life, which they did. Creating various creatures and beings to inhabit the planets seemed perfect, but they needed a being who could command all these beings and who could recognize them, recognize their gods. So they created a being in their own image, which is us, humans.

Seeing our virtues and dedication to the gods, they decided to create another being, strong and skilled, a being to accompany humankind, so that we could use them and thus expand throughout the universe. There they created a being with resilient skin, powerful weapons, and wings that allow travel to any part of the galaxy: the dragons, our companions in arms and in life, allowing us to expand in this…

Milto stopped speaking, for when he looked at Ketsual's desk, he saw him sleeping and snoring. Milto slammed his fist on the blackboard, causing Ketsual to wake with a start. When he looked at his teacher, he noticed that he was somewhat angry… and that wasn't good.

  .

  .

  .

"Alright, that's it for this lesson. You can go eat and rest for a bit." Milto approached Ketsual and finally freed him from his little prison.

Once he removed it, Ketsual quickly left, without a goodbye or anything. Milto could only watch as the boy ran off.

"Ah, finally class is over," Ketsual commented happily, as he headed to his room. Once there, he changed out of his pajamas and into something more comfortable to go out in.

With quick, light steps, he traversed the castle corridors, emerging into the azure sky and the distant city beyond.

But Ketsual darted to his right, toward a path leading to a esplanade with large buildings.

The closer he got, the more he heard the sounds of the place.

"Come on! Bring the food for the kompaz!" shouted an adult to others who were bringing several carts laden with meat.

While others were heading towards a nearby lake, they brought carts laden with fish. They emptied the fish into the water, and the water began to churn. Then, bluish-skinned creatures emerged, with heads similar to horses and elongated bodies. Instead of legs, they had fins like fish.

Ketsual arrived right behind the fish cart and was able to see these beautiful creatures. Filled with awe and excitement, he left and went to other buildings where a great number and variety of dragons were kept.

This area was dedicated to the stables for dragons used by the military and the royal family. It provided homes, food, and care for the dragons, keeping them in optimal condition for combat or transport.

Ketsual gazed at the dragons with admiration, considering them fierce yet noble companions. They were creatures who had approached and accepted human care, and they defended their ally.

Ketsual's steps led him to a stable unlike any other. Its walls were made of obsidian, and its roof was made of oak. As he entered, several people greeted him.

It wasn't unusual for Ketsual to visit the stables, so the people who worked there weren't alarmed.

Ketsual saw few dragons inside the building, but that wasn't surprising; the royal family's dragons were kept there.

They were very rare dragons. One had two-toned scales that changed color depending on the angle. Another was white, but its scales shimmered like diamonds.

Ketsual gazed at the dragons in admiration, but then he remembered something and ran to the far end of the stable. There he found a small dragon lying down, about 60 centimeters tall, with four short legs and wings about 40 centimeters long.

His build was stocky, his skin covered in purple scales, and his head was adorned with several crystalline spikes.

"Popuro!" Ketsual exclaimed joyfully, causing the little dragon to look at him and leap onto all fours, wagging his tail from side to side, clearly delighted to see Ketsual.

The prince opened Popuro's stable door, and Popuro rushed out to snuggle with Ketsual, receiving gentle strokes from him.

"I'm glad to see you again too, Popuro. Come on, let's play!"

Ketsual ran out of the stable, with his companion Popuro following close behind.

They moved away from the stables to play their favorite game, tag.

"Haha, you can't catch me, Popuro!" he laughed happily, but stopped when he heard a loud crash. Looking towards a mountain range, some distance away, he saw a big shadow quickly rising into the sky.

Ketsual realized he was a heavy Worlik dragon, a type of dragon trained to transport humans, objects, and even small dragons between planets. They are typically enormous dragons, but incredibly fast and intelligent. Worlik heavy dragons are the most important resource for the mass transport of goods between planets.

Ketsual has always loved the idea of ??traveling to other planets on a dragon's back, but unfortunately, he has never experienced it... yet.
