Chapter 7: The Covenant of Certainty.. and the Economy of the Soul

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

[SYSTEM ALERT: Location: Melngradnia Empire – The Cosmic Sanctuary]

[Status: The Covenant Door is Closed Forever]

[New World Order: Faith Points Replace Gold]

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

The Melngradnia Empire had now settled behind a wall of absolute light.

It was no longer merely a state. It had become a gargantuan "cosmic sanctuary."

In the heart of the capital, structures unseen by mankind began to rise. Buildings with vast golden domes shimmering under Flora's purple light. Towering minarets embracing the clouds, adorned with intricate geometric patterns where cosmic lines intersected to form verses of absolute beauty.

There were no statues. No images. No idols.

Instead, there were vast open spaces covered in carpets woven from threads of light. The scent of "Serenity" incense purified every breath. Here, thousands gathered, prostrating in tightly packed rows. No sound was heard but the whisper of glorification that makes the throne of the void tremble.

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

Elias and Flora were not watching the scene as rulers. They were entities tasked with preserving this Covenant.

On a moonlit night atop the peak of Mount "Aethelgard," Elias stood looking at the clear sky. His eyes overflowing with a mysterious brilliance.

  Elias:

"Do you think we have established the foundations of the required order, Flora? We have brought them into the sanctuary of the One, not by the sword, but by the certainty we have planted. All this bliss... all this power... is but a reflection of His will."

Flora wiped her face. A sudden solemnity masking her usual madness.

  Flora:

"It is, Elias. There is no god but Him. We did this out of love for Him, and out of fear of His justice. We have made Melngradnia an earthly paradise so that these heedless ones may know that His worship is the source of sustenance and power. We are free in all things, but we are slaves to His will, and we shall not stray from His command for the blink of an eye."

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

This was the true motive. It was not an earthly kingdom. It was a "faith-based project" led by complex cosmic entities.

For this reason, the decision was final.

The door of the Covenant had been closed.

Those who hesitated. Those who doubted. Those who preferred their old gods or mortal kings. They now found themselves outcasts.

It was the chance of a single lifetime. Granted only once.

The outside world began to realize the scale of the catastrophe just months after the signing of the contract. Melngradnia no longer accepted anyone. No human, regardless of their wealth, could purchase the purple "Mark of Loyalty."

Internally, the financial system transformed into a mathematical miracle.

Gold was no longer the currency. Instead, it was "Faith Points."

Every citizen possessed a spiritual balance displayed in their purple tattoo.

  How did the balance increase?

  · Through honesty.

  · Through sincere work.

  · Through devotion within those luminous structures.

  · Through loyalty to Arthur as the successor of this Covenant.

The more a person's faith increased, the more their physical strength grew. Their home expanded. The quality of their orchard's resources doubled.

The most faithful man in Melngradnia was the wealthiest, most powerful, and most vibrant.

As for those who grew lax in their prayers or whose certainty weakened, they saw their blessings gradually diminish. Not as an external punishment. But as a physical law within this empire.

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

On the borders of the Azuria province, a scene occurred that summarized the reality of the new world.

A merchant named "Marcus" from the neighboring kingdom of "Gallia" managed to slip through a mountain gap. He carried a bag full of silver bullion and rare silk, hoping to exchange them for the resources of the "Covenant" from the orchards of Melngradnia. To smuggle out and sell to dying kings.

Marcus met a farmer of the Covenant people named "Kaylen."

Kaylen was a youth overflowing with vitality. Picking fruits that radiated light. Though only months had passed since the Covenant, his body appeared as if forged through centuries of strength.

  Marcus whispered:

"Brother, take this silver, take all I own, and give me some of these resources! Our king is dying and will pay their weight in diamonds!"

Kaylen looked at him with pity.

  Kaylen:

"O heedless one, our resources are not sold for dead metals. These blessings are kept for us because we believed. Take what you want if you wish; I do not want your silver, for my Lord provides for me beyond measure."

Marcus seized the opportunity. He snatched some golden fruits, placed them in a lead-lined iron box, and ran toward the border.

As soon as he crossed the "Line of Light" that defined the end of the Empire, the unexpected happened.

The heavy box suddenly became light as a feather.

Marcus opened it frantically. He found that the fruits, and anything that had touched the land of Melngradnia... everything had turned into "Void."

It did not become ash. Its very existence was annihilated. As if it had never been created.

Marcus screamed, looking at his empty hands.

  Marcus:

"Where is it?! It was right here!"

A voice descended from the sky. The voice of Elias the Observer.

  Elias:

"What leaves the Light for the Darkness returns to nothingness. Our land does not grant its blessings to those outside its pact. Go to your king and tell him: Whoever seeks bliss, let him search for it in his soul first, for the time of the Covenant has passed."

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

The external kingdoms, which relied on Melngradnia for food and minerals, were now at the mercy of "Arthur's Conditions."

The kingdom of "Celestia" sent a diplomatic delegation pleading to open trade. Ambassador "Leonard" stood before Arthur's throne, trembling with awe.

Arthur sat. His silence weighing like mountains.

  Arthur:

  "You want resources?"

  Leonard:

"Yes, Your Imperial Majesty. My people are dying of plagues and hunger."

Elias intervened with a sharp tone.

  Elias:

"Our conditions are clear. Any caravan entering Melngradnia must leave its weapons at the border. The souls of the merchants will be inspected before their goods. The price is not gold, for we possess the treasures of the earth. The price is 'Absolute Political Submission' and the declaration of Monotheism in your kingdoms. Any manipulation, any attempt to smuggle a single grain of dust or metal across the border, will turn these things into Void and they shall be erased from the record of existence."

  Leonard asked fearfully.

  Leonard:

"And what about the Covenant? Can our king sign it now?"

Flora laughed. A laugh that shook the pillars of the palace.

  Flora:

"The Covenant was a door opened for one night, and it has been locked with a key of light. Your king shall remain an ordinary human, aging and dying. We are the servants of the One and Only, the believers in this Covenant, and you are merely a lesson of time."

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

In the depths of the seven continents, the news of the "Exit into the Void" was not merely tales. It was a nightmare haunting every seat of power.

King "Augustus," ruler of the Kingdom of Gallia, sat in his cold hall. Looking at his ministers who showed clear signs of emaciation.

  Augustus (In a trembling voice):

"Tell me, how can an empire that was yesterday suffering from civil war become today the kingdom of the impossible?"

  His chief minister replied fearfully.

  Chief Minister:

"It is not the magic we know, my Lord. It is a new 'existential law.' Our spies who tried to infiltrate have not returned. The few who did speak of cities that never sleep, people who never fall ill, and youth that renews with every dawn. They say they possess a system called 'Faith Points.' The man there does not toil for money, but toils for the purity of his soul, and the earth overflows upon him with gold and blessings in proportion to that sincerity."

Augustus struck his fist on the table.

  Augustus:

"They have closed the door! This is pure treachery! How does Arthur dare to monopolize immortality?"

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

Meanwhile, inside Melngradnia, life moved with a majestic rhythm.

In the province of "Light-Haven," a young man named "Asteroes" stood before a panel of light floating in the middle of his house. The panel displayed his balance of "Faith Points."

Asteroes looked with a smile. His balance had increased today because he helped his neighbors build the new "Luminous Sanctuary" and because he spent the hours of dawn in sincere devotion.

Upon the increase of points, Asteroes felt his purple tattoo emit a comforting heat through his body. He watched the walls of his house increase in brilliance. Even the water well in his backyard began to overflow with water that was purer and tastier.

  ◇ ◇ ? ? ?

Elias was walking among the people. Disguised in a simple cloak. Observing this interaction.

He did not want mindless slaves. He wanted hearts that realized sustenance is the fruit of the connection with the Creator.

He saw an old woman who, before the Covenant, could not walk. Now, she carried two jars of water and ran with the lightness of a twenty-year-old girl. Her face radiating a light not created by the sun.

Elias turned to Flora, who was watching him from atop a nearby minaret.

  Elias:

"Do you see, Flora? The spiritual economy is stronger than the economy of gold. Outside, they fight over fleeting resources, and here, they compete for proximity to the One. We have turned faith into a 'matter' that can be touched and felt."

Flora descended with the lightness of lightning and stood beside him.

  Flora:

"But the kings outside will not remain silent. They are gathering their armies, thinking their numbers will overcome the 'Law of the Void.' They think Arthur is just a lucky king."

  Elias smiled coldly.

  Elias:

"Let them gather their wreckage. Tomorrow they will learn that whoever holds the Covenant of the Heavens does not fear the armies of the earth. They will learn that every sword raised against Melngradnia will turn into dust before it touches a single grain of our soil."
