The next day skyler felt something heavy on her body, she blinked and saw that it was Luna lying on her. Since the bedroom that she had only had one double bed. Skyler tapped Luna on her shoulder to say to wake up. And she saw her opening her eyes.

  “Good morning”

  “I bet”

  Skyler said and saw that Luna jumped off her, embarrassed that she was lying on her, that made skyler chuckle a bit. Before getting out of bed as well. She looked at the blade leaning against the wall near a mirror. The mist covered the floor around it.

  “I should of slept on the floor”

  Luna whispered but Skyler shook her head saying that it was alright she didn’t mind her sleeping on her. Skyler walked up to the sword and gripped the hilt and picked it up. As she did, shadows spilled onto the floor like liquid from a bottle.

  She moved it around and saw the blade wavy stream while it moved side to side also up and down. Which intrigued her so much on how to best use the blade in the coming future. She looked at the mirror, her hair was fully fiery purple and her eyes as well.

  She hummed, knowing that it was strange to have her hair on fire and her eyes glowing together at once. Normally the tips of her hair; not the entire thing. With her free hand she touched her hair. It was as cold as ice, like it had no life to it.

  “Does this look strange to you Luna?”

  Skyler said, turning around to Luna Also when she heard her voice. She was shocked that it sounded so otherworldly and very echoey. Like she was in a canyon but she wasn’t. She locked onto Luna who was stepping back shaking like she was witnessing something traumatic.

  “Luna!”

  Skyler shouted, dropped the sword and walked to her, she sat on the edge of the bed with Luna.

  “Breathe Luna”

  Skyler whispered and she saw Luna start to take deep breaths; which made Skyler pleased by the sight. But she was also very nervous about the eclipse blade and how it affects people visibly.

  “You okay?”

  Skyler whispered at her trying to see if Luna was back to normal and she just nodded a bit. Skyler knew she was still a bit shaken from the previous day. She sighed that it happened, she hated the fact that she was the one who was the one who needed to have the eclipse blade. She wished that it wasn’t her to be the chosen one like the news in the stories and myths that had been circling around forever.

  Luna got up and walked to the door and exited the room quickly like she wanted to go somewhere far away from Skyler which she understood. Since if she saw that to somebody else she would do the exact same thing.

  Skyler looked at the ceiling and pondered if it was the right decision to pull the rapier out of the stone.

  “Why!!”

  She yelled out asking someone who wasn’t even there in the first place. She slammed her fist on the bed in anger frustrated that the sword is destroying her life.

  “I hate being the eclipse blade wielder, I just don’t see that I’m a good fit”

  Skyler whispered and covered her eyes with her arm. Letting a tear drop travel down her cheek. It felt cold while it went down which made Skyler shiver and get up from the bed reflexively.

  She walked to the door, opened it to see Justin standing there with his red eyes looking at her with confusion. Skyler quickly shut the door.

  “Oi amberlight!”

  Justin shouted and Skyler ignored him and hid the blade somewhere that he would not see it; she hid it in the bathroom since nobody would go in there voluntarily unless for having stomach problems or something.

  She went back to the door and opened it once again. She looked at Justin’s frustrated face which made her a bit giddy but she hid her expression from him since she didn’t want him to know what she was thinking

  “What do I owe the pleasure mister protector”

  Skyler teased knowing that Justin was here for that call she made when she went to save Luna from the manor. Skyler stepped to the side and let Justin enter the hotel room and walked behind him waiting for him to sit down first.

  “Please sit on the bed it’s the only thing to sit on”

  “Sure”

  Justin replied and sat down on the king sized bed and he saw that Skyler sat down next to him on the right side of him. She turned her body towards him and put her arms crossed under her chest.

  “I know why your here”

  “Yeah that watch call”

  “Yeah…”

  “Why were there many unconscious people around the manor anyway?”

  “Me sorry”

  Skyler said shakily knowing that Justin hates when people don’t wait for backup.

  “You still didn’t wait but well done on calling me”

  Justin sarcastically said and clapped at her with unenthusiastic applause. She chuckled uncomfortably from Justin’s actions which made her deeply confused.

  It was like he was complimenting her but as well telling her off.

  “I thought you didn’t want to talk to me after prison”

  “I did but when you called about the manor I thought you was trying to change”

  “Yes I am trying to be better, I never had someone like you before I only had my father”

  “I know you already told me when we first met”

  Justin said calmly and cupped his hands together on his knees And sighed deeply. Skyler saw this change of demeanor from him and wondered what brought this on.

  “Skyler, do you want to be a protector! Like you can’t breathe, want it?”

  Justin asked, looking at Skyler seeing her expressions trying to see what she answers and how she was feeling about her future.

  “Yes I do”

  “Then why don’t you ever do what you’ve been told to do by me”

  “I don’t know why? I just find it hard to do stuff that needs patience”

  “That’s the whole thing of the protectors”

  Justin stood up and walked to the door of the bathroom and leaned against it. Skyler started to sweat from his action.

  “We serve the country, the king! When we get a case we need to be thorough and precise.”

  “I know!”

  Skyler shouted and jumped to her feet angrily and stepped closer.

  “I never had friends so I don’t really trust anyone unless someone needs help”

  “What if that person was the one who caused the trouble in the first place.”

  “Then. Oh well”

  Skyler unchauntly said while shaking her head and putting her hands on her hips. She saw how annoyed justin was with her, she rubbed the back of her head and looked down

  “Ok okay im sorry”

  She muttered and she saw him nod with a smile on his face. Also she saw that dug through the pockets of his jacket and held a letter in his hand putting it towards her. She was confused about this.

  “What’s this?”

  She asked, and took it from his hand, she looked at it weirdly like she was scared of what was inside. Skyler heard Justin chuckle and she snapped out of her daze and looked upon him once more.

  “It’s something good not bad”

  “Oh”

  Skyler sighed relieved that it wasn’t anything awful, she traced the edge of the letter. She pulled her finger across it. When it got to the other side she shook the paper out of the envelope.

  She read it, it was about the reinstatement of her position of being a trainee which made her so happy that she unconsciously jumped in the air like a child.

  “Whoop whoop”

  She yelled loudly and pumped the air in excitement, since she could be a detective again and help the country out in the process. She heard Justin chuckled and she scratched her head in embarrassment.

  “Welcome back to the protectors Skyler”

  “Thanks Justin and why did you decide to reinstate me? Though”

  “Because you called me asking for help with that manor which is better than running off on your own!”

  Justin said, increasing the volume of his voice as he spoke. And Skyler nodded knowingly that she was against the law during the lawyer attack. She felt ashamed that she did that. Also by letting the primordial, take over her body and nearly killed his fiancée.

  “Let’s go to the headquarters in the middle of this country in the lux sector”

  “Great…Lux…”

  Skyler said before sighing and sitting on her bed. And she saw that Justin noticed her expression of annoyance.

  “I know, see you tomorrow and who was that who left?”

  “Like you want to know you already have a fiancé, she’s just a friend”

  She said and noticed the look on Justin’s face like he was hurt but he chuckled instead which made Skyler scratch her head and saw Justin leave.

  “So time to train I guess”

  Skyler whispered and she heard a knock on the door of the hotel room. She answered and saw Luna holding her arm nervous.

  “Sorry, for running, I was scared”

  “No not at all”

  Skyler said while she waved her hands in a dismissive manner. And she moved out the way letting Luna back in which she shook her head.

  “No, I need to go somewhere that is safe for me”

  “I’m going to the lux sector, I will be at the protector headquarters if you need me”

  Skyler said smiling and put her hand out, saw that Luna grabbed it and gently shook it.

  “Of course when I am in danger I will contact you”

  Luna said, with happiness in her voice before leaving down the corridor of the hotel.

  “See ya soon”

  Skyler shouted at her before shutting the door and looking back at the sword under her bed she wrapped it in cloth. She grabbed it and walked out of the hotel as well.

  She went down the corridor, down the stairs and out of the main entrance to the hotel before arriving at the car park. She got to her bike and strapped her blade on to the side of her bike and kicked it to life.

  She drove it to the edge of the sector passing Luna which she waved and she waved back at her. She was pleased that Luna waved at her which she didn’t know why she liked that she was waved at.

  Maybe it was due to being alone for some long time and not having anyone to greet her and say goodbye to. Due to her thoughts she felt a bit sad but she shook the thought out as quickly as she could.

  She passed many skyscrapers and then she got out of the city through the motorway on her bike. While she enjoyed the wind blowing through her hair, it felt so good to her like she was touching the heavens.

  Skyler made it to a guard post where she caught up with Justin sitting in his car waiting for her. It made herself feel special like she was something not a toy like the primordial thinks of her.

  She shivered again at the horrible image that was implanted into her mind from her thoughts.

  “For Fuck sake”

  Skyler muttered as she stopped at the gate to the Lux sector. She tapped on her handle bars waiting for the grunt to open the gate and let her through. She was very impatient since she hated waiting but she trusted that it wouldn’t be any longer

  She smiled at the gate opening and as she went through it, she saw many old buildings that were made with quartz. It was like she was in heaven but she was still alive. Since she could feel her heart beating faster at the architecture of it.

  “Oh my god this is…”

  She whispered her eyes glued on everything around her distracting her from the road which was not good. She was so engrossed in looking at them, she didn’t notice that her bike was starting to wobble. She only noticed from it shuddering more like it was going to make her grind on the ground.

  So she stopped looking and started driving properly again, she exhaled knowing that she was doing something inappropriate.

  She saw a cathedral that was so big that the pillars were touching the clouds which made her eyes widen.

  “That’s big”

  She shouted thinking that she will get lost in that building if she gets inside it. Then she saw Justin going into the courtyard of the church which made Skyler surprised that the headquarters was so cool she thought it would be something like a dull skyscraper but not this cathedral.
