Damien and the dark figure who had been chasing him could be seen walking side by side. After agreeing, it had been about an hour since they left the area, and both sides had asked many questions.
Damien especially got a lot out of this interaction and learned quite a bit about the world he now found himself in. Apparently, the world's name was “Hasis.” It was a world that had been around for quite some time and currently had no specific race ruling over it.
Of the races, there were many, some even from what the earth of old would consider fairytales such as elves and dwarfs. There were also humans on the planet however they were one of the weakest races present as other races like the elves had massive mana capacities making them much stronger in magic or like the dragonkin who as their name suggests were akin to dragons they had extremely robust bodies and insane strength making them a force to be reckoned.
Suddenly, while walking and engaging in casual talk, the figure looked over at him and said, “Next question, this one is the one you MUST answer.”
Damien’s expression changed subtly to one of seriousness before nodding his head. Seeing that Damien agreed, the figure gave a toothy grin. “What race are you?”
Hearing the question, Damiens's expression almost fell, ‘What should I do?’ he thought, trying to think of a way not to answer. He had a bad feeling about telling this man he was a high shade looking at his race status he suddenly got an idea.
The figure had asked for his race, meaning he believed Damien to be of a single race and did not ask what his “races” were. Adopting a smile, he quickly answers the question.
“High human.” Getting an answer he had not been expecting, the figure's expression sank. “You can’t be serious, right? I saw you use that shadow ability. Regardless of the system, there are some abilities that other races will seldom be able to use.”
“You can ask the system if I am lying,” Damien stated with a look of confidence.
After a few moments of silence, the figure gave him a deep look, “I know you are hiding something, so I will just say well played to whatever you did to hide it from me however, I will get an answer out of you eventually.
Damien let out a chuckle but said nothing in response so as to not give anything away. “Oh, right. I never asked for your name. Calling you by “Hey you” or something like that seems kinda dumb.
Glancing at Damien, the figure adopted a mysterious smile, “Just call me shade.”
Outwardly, Damien nodded his head to the man's words, but inwardly, he was trying his best to stay calm.
‘He knows…. there is no way he just randomly came up with that.’ Damien thought while making sure to maintain an expressionless look.

While being lost in thought, Shade looked over at him again, “You know now that I’ve examined your aura, you're not from this planet, are you?”
This time, Damien could not keep his expression normal, causing the man to smile, “As expected. Here's a little tip when you come to a new planet, you will have the aura of your old one on you, making you stand out easily to those paying attention.
Realization dawned on his face before he felt the urge to curse the system once more, ‘Would have been nice for you to have warned me about that.’
“So, shade want to tell me why you suddenly decided to not kill me?”
“It’s simple. I saw your shadow abilities, and they intrigued me. nothing else.”
‘Yeah, right.’ Damien said inwardly to himself before letting out a sigh.
Suddenly, he noticed that the jungle treeline started to disperse and that a clearing was coming into view, and once he saw what was ahead, he had to say it was breathtaking, to say the least.
“Amazing, is it not? While I have not been to other planets, I have to say this one is probably one of the most unique.”
In front of Damien was a giant core-like object floating in midair. The object was sending out insane amounts of what felt like gravity waves. Each time a wave went in their direction, gravity would either increase or decrease massively.
“What is this?”
Shade chuckled, seeing his reaction, and said, “No one knows, however, those who have studied it believe it to be some type of phenomenon caused by the system as there are hundreds of these things all over the world.
‘System, was this caused by you?’ he asked inwardly however, he was met with no response and only silence.
Around the core object was some type of purple flower firmly rooted into the ground and even into the core itself. Seeing this, he knew they must be some type of rare and unique material.
Seeing his line of vision, the figure spoke out once more, “You must be wondering about those flowers, huh? Unfortunately, all I can tell you is that they are great for those wanting to learn how to control gravity, as for anything else about it I am unable to answer since only people strong enough to obtain it know its properties.
“There are no merchants or rich people willing to pay for someone to get it for them?” Damien asked aloud as it did not make sense to him that only those strong enough to pick them to know of its properties
Shade gave him a weird look for a second before shaking his head and answering, “I am not sure about the world you came from, but this one believes that only those who are strong enough have the right to knowledge. The only exceptions are children, once someone is recognized as an adult, they have to fend for themselves.
Shock appeared on his face upon hearing Shade's explanation. “Is that not counterproductive?”

Meanwhile, back on earth, Ela could be seen with a darkened expression. It had been a few days since she and Damien were set to meet up, but he had never shown and was also not a part of her event. On top of that, he never showed up even after the event ended.
Right as she was about to use her question, the system spoke aloud to her, causing Ela to almost jump in surprise. “Don’t worry about Damien he is alright. Focus on yourself otherwise, he will leave you behind.”
With that, the system went quiet once more, leaving Ela stunned and with many questions, like where he was. How did he get there? Why is the system telling me this? Feeling a headache about to come on, she started to rub her fingers against her temple in frustration.
‘Based on what the system said, I can at least conclude that he went somewhere with the intention of getting stronger much quicker, which is why the system told me to focus on myself or I’d be left behind.’
Thinking along those lines, Ela immediately resolved herself and began thinking of ways to improve quickly.
“I told you before, Damien, I will not be left behind and force you to be left alone in the future,” Ela said aloud to herself, a look of determination cast on her face.
