13 – White Horse Is White

  “Pony?”

Jophiel tries to catch Joshua's attention, he just froze suddenly, staring bnkly at the ore in his hand.

She tilts her head in confusion, is he okay?

Her horn glows, and she takes a peek into his mind. Her psychic powers are still immature due to being young, but she's able to at least glimpse into his current mental state.

And what she saw… she didn't like.

Grimacing, her horn fades. She walks over and taps his leg with her hoof.

  “Pony?”

  Nothing.

She sits down beside him, snout scrunching as she thinks.

But as the minutes pass, she starts to stir impatiently.

  “Pony!”

  Nothing.

Her frustration is equal parts concern, she doesn't know what to do, maybe a psychic shock will knock him out of it? But that would hurt him…

Suddenly, she notices that the neckce he's wearing starts to glow. Having experienced it twice, she already knows it's an ominous warning.

There's a shuffle in the snow behind her, turning, she freezes at what she sees.

They look like Joshua, humanoid, with sickly green skin and yellow eyes, shambling towards them with a sluggish gate.

  A zombie.

A group of them, as well as a group of… skeletons?

“!!!” Her horn fres as an arrow flies past her and heads towards Joshua.

Thinking quickly, she wills a pulse of psychic energy and knocks Joshua onto the ground, narrowly missing the arrow.

Looking back, the skeletons have shoddy looking bows, and even worse looking arrows.

  Still dangerous.

Fear grips the mare's heart, and Jophiel contemptes running away.

But she stops, and looks at the fallen Joshua.

A determined look appears on her face.

Her horn fring, she faces the horde of undead as a familiar shovel floats just behind her, standing between them and the human.

  “Pony”

Jophiel wouldn't call herself a brave mare.

  But what she is…

  Is stubborn.

  …

Joshua finishes washing the bloodied mare, watching as the blood flows down the river.

He found out that he can make bandages using three pieces of cloth in a line using his crafting table.

It's… odd seeing these rather professional and sterile looking bandages, considering they came from old and ripped curtains.

  Whatever, Minecraft.

He wraps up her scrapes and cuts, she's shockingly not that injured, most of the blood on her wasn't even her own.

  “You're a little badass aren't you?”

Jophiel scoffs, a smile on her face.

“Pony!” She says with an air of pride.

Joshua chuckles, he thinks back to the pile of corpses, and it really settles in how much he owes this unicorn.

Maybe he's onto something? What if white horses are really just that violent?

He reaches down and picks her up, nesteling her bandaged self into his arm in a cradle.

  “Thank you, Jophiel”

“Pony” A welcome nod is her response.

  He…

Admittedly, he doesn't know what happened.

He felt upset for a moment, and then he just bcked out, that's how it was for him.

But he does remember the verse, Romans 5:3-5, and the calmness that came after it. It was like something clouded his mind, and the verse snapped him out of it.

What's with the verses anyway? No, they would be prayers wouldn't they? Reciting scripture isn't necessarily a prayer, he believes, but they seem to work regardless.

…He decides to focus on something else.

  Iron.

Yes, Joshua has officially entered the age of iron. His monkey brain ancestors are proud.

He feels good, especially since this iron will be potentially life saving with the new addition of the “mobs” that are now confirmed to be in this world too.

  Zombies, skeletons…

  Endermen…

  Creepers…

  oh he is so fucked.

Joshua puts Jophiel on his shoulders and gets moving.

“I need to smelt this, but my furnace is back in the bunker…”

  He grumbles a bit.

  “Oh. Wait”

A sp meets his forehead once more.

  “I'm dumb”

  “Pony”

Joshua simply digs into nearby exposed stone and crafts a new furnace.

He wanders along the base of the mountains for a few hours (they're more like hills honestly) and catches a few veins of coal and iron. They swiftly get moved to his inventory.

  …

  Pokenav time check.

  12:31PM

  It's just past noon.

  Horse is still white.

Iron is smelted and turned into fwless iron ingots, Joshua is so gd he has the interface, because there's no way he would be able to do this manually.

He has to say, iron is a game changer.

The tools he made are incomparable to the stone variants, them being much stronger and much more durable.

  [IRON SWORD]

  [IRON PICKAXE]

  [IRON AXE]

  [IRON DAGGER (Unbreaking I)]

He also made sure to give Jophiel her rightly earned reward.

  “Midy, your weapon”

Jophiel raises her chin in a regal way.

  “Pony”

  “Of course your majesty”

The White Horse Is incomplete without her trusty weapon.

  [IRON SHOVEL]

She raises it up in the air like He-Man for some fucking reason, glowing in the sun.

  Looks majestic as hell though.

Joshua can't suppress a ugh looking at her, she must feel so tall on his shoulders.

He looks at the area around him, then pulls out his Pokenav.

  Oh.

He sees another structure in the distance.

  …

[Do we actually know where this is? ( ′-`)]

  [Nope]

  [Nada]

  [Somewhere in Gar?]

  [Mf how is this GALAR?]

[Arceus above Jophiel is so cute]

[What a little champion she is!]

[Is everyone seriously ignoring the zombies…]

[What was up with Joshua? Is he okay?]

[What a fuckin trooper that Ponyta is, good lord]

  [JOOOEEEEY!!!! Poor babyyyyy]

  [Where is Iono?]

  [Dead lol]

[I dunno why… but these two are growing on me!]

[Yeah I thought it'd be boring but honestly I'm kinda liking just watching them]

  [yessss more fans more~ MORE~ (*≧?≦)?]

Steadily, the viewership began to grow.

As horrible as the situation is for Joshua, the viewers who only came in to see what was going on began to become attracted to the man and his pony.

Despite being in a bad spot, the two are constantly making jabs with each other, keeping the air light despite the tension. Coupled with Joshua’s non-caring responses to chat, the stream is refreshing compared to others.

No pandering, no real heart pounding action, just a man and his Ponyta sitting around a furnace and smelting iron.

He's not a streamer, but ironically he's getting rather well known as one.

Joshua, of course, has no idea.
