Apparently, Bai Cangfeng is not as good as Ai Jiangtu in Curse Element, so only 1-10 of the monsters are giving soul essences. But the soul remnants are also of much higher quality than monsters normally drop. So, there is nothing to lose and much to gain if Bai Cangfeng stay on team.
