With the perks all set I moved onto skills- or would have if you could purchase basic skills with bonus points. Instead all you can buy are ‘proficiencies’ which allow you to pick up skills in the section faster and wield weapons without penalties.
Content I checked my remaining points, and nearly groaned at having over a hundred-thousand left to spend. C#: 116,364
Well, I didn’t expect to become this much of a cheat… Sighing I ranked all my proficiencies up to A, costing me 33,200 points and bringing my total down to about 83 thousand.
Now what the heck am I going to increase… I went back to my status and looked at what I could make better. I could increase my affinities by 1% for 150 points, and I quickly decided to increase Light and Wind by 200% subtracting another 30k from my left over points. I then raised my other four affinities by 50% each for another 30k, then started looking over my stats. You can buy one stat for 200p, meaning I could buy about 115 stat points- and I promptly did, putting twenty into both Luck and Charisma and giving five to Str, Con, Spt, and Mnd, putting 25 on Agl, while spending the rest on Dex. This leaves me with 164p left… For 4p I found I can purchase 1gold, so I spent the rest and got myself 41 gold.
“Yes.”
A soft light rose around me and quickly faded, leaving me in what appeared to be a vast expanse of sandy desert with the occasional shrub. Looking up I found the night sky in all its glory, countless stars glimmering on black velvet that stretched infinitely. A single pale blue moon glowed in the sky, giving the sand underneath me a silvery sheen. *ting~
Cocking an eyebrow at the screen I then quickly swiped it away and brought out my soul weapons, which for now just appeared as two floating balls of energy in my hand. So its similar to how I brought out Raphael… Slightly nostalgic I started focusing on the images of my weapons.
One of them was going to be a type of glaive, except more focused on piercing than cutting, but similar to one it would keep the wide blade for slashing and counterweights. Appearing in my hand the silver swordstaff-like weapon shone in the moonlight, its handle wrapped in strips of thin red leather. Gentle but bold ancient-egyptian patterns shimmered to life on the metal, and whole thing started glowing dimly with power.
While slightly different, “I name you Raphael, treat me well.” I said to the glaive-spear. *ting~
Satisfied I nodded with a small smile then desummoned Raphael and focused on the second weapon soul. Slowly a long katana, adorned with windy Japanese brush strokes etched into the faintly shimmering silver metal, formed in my hands. Thin strips of soft green leather wrapped the hilt, sitting comfortably in my hands. A faint breeze swirled around the katana, gently caressing my hands. Looking at the blade I smiled and stroked its flat side, “I name you Ariel, to become the wind that guards me from my enemies.” *ting~
I checked over the status window then dismissed it, then switched Ariel with Raphael and looked to the horizon, it didn’t seem that the sun would be rising anytime soon, so I might as well start moving. Well then, shall we?
