Spoiled Marriage Seduces People
When he arrived at the door, Cheng Yue had already arrived. The military off-road vehicle was parked in front of the company's entrance, attracting many curious glances. Seeing her come out, open the door and get out of the car, a green military uniform was worn on his body, looking quite majestic and upright.
Meijia stood before him, asking: "Have you been here for a long time?"
"Just arrived." The tone was consistently calm and flat.
Mei Jia nodded and said: "Let's go."
Cheng Yue glanced at her and then looked behind her, asking: "Are you a colleague?"
Upon hearing this, Mi Jia turned around and saw Gu Xiangdong walking towards them with a gloomy face.
Gu Xiangdong looked at Mijia and said: "Mijia, aren't you going to introduce us?"
Mi Jia felt a bit awkward and didn't understand what Gu Xiangdong was trying to do.
It seemed that she had seen the difficulty on her face, and before she could speak, Cheng Yue directly looked at Gu Xiangdong and said: "Hello, Cheng Yue, Mika's fiancé." While speaking, he politely stretched out his hand to him.
Gu Xiangdong looked at him, his eyes sharp and piercing, with a hint of hostility that was so obvious.
Seeing that he didn't extend his hand for a handshake, Cheng Yue also stopped being polite and withdrew his hand. He turned around and asked Mi Jia, "Do you need me to wait for you in the car?"
Mi Jia shook her head and turned around somewhat awkwardly to face Gu Xiangdong, saying: "General Manager, I'll leave first." She then directly turned around and walked towards the car.
Cheng Yue glanced at Gu Xiangdong, didn't say a word, and walked forward to open the car door for Mi Jia. He held his hand above her head, preventing her from accidentally hitting it.
Dai Mijia sat down properly, then closed the car door and turned her head to nod at Gu Xiangdong before getting in from the other side.
Sitting in the car, the two of them seemed a bit silent.
This silence made Mitya feel a bit awkward, trying to find a topic to say: "Uh... have Uncle and Aunt arrived yet?"
"Uh-huh, I just sent them to the hotel." Cheng Yue nodded in response, without looking at her, his eyes seriously watching the road conditions ahead.
Mi Jia nodded, recalling the encounter at the company entrance earlier. She thought to herself that she should probably explain things and said: "That person I met at the company entrance just now is my superior as well as my senior, it's not what you think between us."
Upon hearing this, Cheng Yue turned his head and looked at her with a rare hint of a smile on the corner of his mouth, saying: "I wasn't thinking anything."
Mei Jia was taken aback, and instead felt a bit embarrassed herself. She turned her head away, her face slightly red, and softly responded with an "oh." She regretted explaining so much to him, when there wasn't even anything going on in the first place...
"May I ask you something?"
"What?" Mitya turned his head and looked at him, unsure what he was asking about.
"Can't you see that the man just now liked you? I just want to know, if you want to get married, why look for a complete stranger instead of choosing someone who likes and loves you?"
At this, Mi Jia pulled at the corner of her mouth and said with some self-mockery: "I'm afraid I won't be able to afford it."
Cheng Yue furrowed his brow, seemingly not understanding what she meant by that.
Seeing his reaction, Mijia took the initiative to explain, "Liking and loving are both a kind of giving, and it's natural to want to get something in return. No one is willing to give without seeking any reward, and what he wants in return may seem reasonable and not excessive, but it's exactly what I don't have now, and won't have in the future."
Gu Xiangdong always said he could wait, for several years or even decades, waiting for her to slowly accept him, waiting for her to slowly fall in love with him. However, this thing called love was exactly what she resisted. She was very certain that no matter how many years or decades passed, she would be unable to repay his devotion. Since she already knew the outcome, why bother disappointing someone who had invested so much?
Cheng Yue nodded slightly, smiled a little, and it wasn't that exaggerated smile, just a faint movement of the corner of his mouth.
The two didn't have much conversation afterwards. Mika turned her head to look at the scenery outside the window, while Cheng Yue just focused on driving and looked at the road conditions ahead.
The car stopped in front of a five-star hotel, and before getting out, Cheng Yue suddenly looked at Mijia and asked: "How did you know I'm different from others? Aren't you afraid that maybe I'll also ask for things from you that you can't give me?"
Meijia looked back at him and calmly asked: "Then can you?"
Cheng Yue looked at her for a while, shook his head and smiled faintly, but didn't say anything.
He shook his head, not saying he wouldn't, but rather that he himself didn't know, however Mitya apparently misunderstood.
As they silently agreed to end the conversation, as he got off and walked from the hotel lobby to the suite room, Mijia suddenly felt a little nervous for no reason, stretched out her hand to pull Chengyue, and asked: "That, that's it, will it be okay to go empty-handed?"
Cheng Yue shook his head and said indifferently, "It's nothing, they don't care about these things." He continued walking forward.
Seeing him say this, Mitya also didn't say anything more, because he realized that now even if he wanted to go buy something, it was really too late.
When Pushing the door in, Cheng Yue's parents were already there. Mitya thought that calling such a large private room should have had a table of people, but didn't expect that behind the big round table, only Cheng Dad and Cheng Mom were sitting.
Dressed in a traditional Western-style suit, his black and white hair was combed neatly, with a hint of elegance between his eyebrows that resembled Cheng Yue's. Next to him sat Cheng Mama, looking somewhat petite, wearing a high-end black cheongsam embroidered with gold threads, exuding an air of nobility and refinement. Her lightly made-up face wore a warm smile, while the fine lines at the corners of her eyes discreetly revealed her age, yet did not detract from her beauty.
Cheng Yue turned around and closed the door, walked forward and naturally put his hand on Mijia's waist, looking at her parents and said: "Dad, Mom, I've brought Mijia back."
The big palm on her waist made Mika a little unnatural, but she didn't show it too much. She smiled at Cheng Dad and Cheng Mom, and asked, "Uncle, Auntie."
Cheng Baba nodded slightly, his expression somewhat serious and not very smiley. Compared to Cheng Baba, Cheng Mama's smile seemed more gentle and approachable. Looking at Mika's faint nod, she turned to Cheng Yue and said: "Cheng Yue, let the waiter bring up the dishes."
Cheng Yue nodded slightly, gesturing for Mi Jia to go sit down, while he turned sideways and opened the door to let the waiter prepare to serve the dishes.
