Chapter 4 Mercy to his family

His parents were in agony, they were one of many who could barley move.

Shade could tell his parents condition had worsened. He felt like a servant

to his parents since this all started, and it was starting to get to him.

“Hun, could you bring me a banana, buttered toast, and some orange

juice?” Shade could hear his mother from down the stairs. This came

as no surprise, but today something felt different inside of Shade, it

was like a switch had been turned on, and he had to do something

about his parents, after all he did not want to let them suffer any longer.

“Shade would you be kind enough to bring me some potato chips?”

now his father wanted something as well. (Why do I have to keep

servicing them like this? Will all the people who are incapable of

moving need someone to take care of them?) Shade thinks this to

himself, while tears of frustration build up in his eyes.

Shade searches the cupboard for the food his parents had asked for.

as he is pouring his father’s chips into a bowl, one falls over the counter.

Before it can hit the ground he stops it in mid air. Shade has always been

able to move small objects with his mind, but somehow it feels much

easier to move today, like something inside of him has changed.

When Shade arrives back down stairs, he hands the food his parents

asked him to get to them. Finished eating, Shade goes a head and washes

the dishes. Now that the dishes are clean, Shade for the fun of it, senses

what he can feel around him with telekinesis. (Wait what was that?)

Shade felt something inside his parents, like still water, but warm and

  electrical.

Shade begins to move what ever it is. He moves it up their bodies and

to their heads. In an instant they die. No screams, no complaints, they

are just dead. Shade feels a sense of relief, no longer would he have to

be a slave to his parents demands. He does feel remorse as well, but now

he can end the suffering of those in the world.

Shade walks down his street, he can see a young toddler, and her family,

they must have been outside when they lost their ability to move. (I give

you mercy.) Shade thinks as he brings the still energy inside of them up

into their heads, causing them to die.

Shade finds a young couple lying next to a bench. It was obvious they

had been on a date, and had been siting on the bench, that is until their

bodies could no longer remain seated. (In the name of love, I give

this couple mercy as one.) With that thought Shade moved the still

energy inside of them to their heads in unison. Now they were gone,

  free from their suffering.

Shade came to a restaurant he had been to many times with his family.

Inside where staff members, and customers, none of which could really

move. (You can all have mercy now.) These thoughts, something was

wrong with Shade’s mind now, but he did not see it. The still energy

was moved to their heads. Dead in an instant like so many others.

Somewhere in the distance, a young woman the same age as Shade

followed him. She had always carried strong feelings for Shade, but

now those feelings were fading, more and more with everyone he

killed. There was no doubt in her mind that he was the one causing

their deaths once he reached the restaurant. Her heart breaking for

  every death he caused.

Next Shade went to the grocery store. (Mercy is your salvation.)

Shade now feeling pride in such thoughts. Everyone in the store,

had the air leave their bodies, as the still energy hit their heads.

(My god Shade, the grocery store!) Now the young women could

only see Shade as a monster. No longer was he that sweet boy

who had stopped her tears by reading a lovely story.

Next Shade headed to the bank. It seemed like a robbery was

taking place, but now even the robbers were on the ground.

(Mercy to the innocent!) Every one but the robbers died in an

instant. Shade would leave the robbers to suffer their fate.

(Shade what has happened to make you this way?) The woman following

him could not help but question herself. She pulls out a picture of the two

of them from a school play in fifth grade. In the picture the two have smiles

that could light up any room, but now Shade has a cold smile on his face,

  making the room feel darker.

Shade end up at a dog park. He can see the fenced in dogs trying to move

their masters. (Sorry pups, but I give your owners mercy!) With that the

still energy goes to their heads, death in an instant. Shade uses his telekinetic

abilities to open the door, so that the dogs can run free.

(Well at least he did not leave them caged in there.) A small smile appearing on

the woman’s face, but replaced by a frown in seconds. Something had made

Shade this way, she wanted to find out what, however she did not want to

  ask him the reason.

Shade came to the park where he played as a child. Parents and children

all laying on the ground. (For these families, I gift them with mercy.)

All at once the life left each of them.

Shade entered the elementary school he went to in second grade. I walks

into a familiar classroom. His former teacher is still teaching second grade,

or rather she had been, now her and her students could barley move.

(Ms. Rain, and your students as well, I give you mercy.) With that Ms. Rain

  was now forever gone.

Peaking in from the side of the door, the woman felt a flood of tears falling

from her eyes. (Not Ms. Rain, Shade how could you!) She felt both sad,

angry, and frustrated, what could she do to help Shade now?
