There was a broadhead lodged in his shin bone. Nobody struggled with every step and the pain made sneak mode difficult. Worst of all was the new stamina bar and the endurance attribute. His stamina was pitifully low, he was forced to take a break every few steps.
The only light at the end of the tunnel was the increase in resist pain. While in pain this skill increased his endurance to help him resist it. Nobody was in pain, always.
It felt like he had been traveling for over a day but there was no night. He stared up at the sky for answers.
The duel suns bared down on him seemingly laughing at his struggles, moved away from the Cave of Skeletons. Blood fell from his wound and his HP dipped and refilled. He just needed to get to the village. If he made it there, then maybe there would be a priest capable of pulling the broadhead out.
Nobody was climbing the same hill he killed the rat on earlier. His leg was useless, any weight he put on it made the broadhead scrap against bone. He cursed his own stupidity. If only he had gone to the village instead of looking for trouble like an idiot.
“Hello stranger, I’m in need of an adventurer.” A man said, looking down he saw a man with a top hat stuck in a burrow. He was clearly an NPC and he smiled profusely.
Nobody wiped the sweat from his face and sat on the grass. He could use some rest. Maybe the guy had an easy quest. He nodded to the man to go on. When the man said nothing, Nobody was infuriated. He was about ready to yell at the man before he remembered what he was dealing with.
“I am an adventurer, if you offer me a reward, I would be happy to help you.” A smile tugged at Nobody’s lips. This was starting to piss him off. The man struggled to get out of the barrows for a second then seemed to give up.
“I see you are an adventurer. Help me get out of this hole and I will reward you with an iron dagger lv1.” The noble NPC paused for a moment. “Do you require a tutorial of how the level up system behind equipment and accessories work?” Nobody said yes. He wouldn’t mind an actual person to talk to. Trying to hide from the skeletons and trap them had been an experience.
With that helpful… message out of the way, he had a quest to complete. An iron dagger might help him get the broadhead out of his leg.
“Alright you damn NPC. What do you want?” He asked.
“Please kind adventurer free me from this barrow before I starve to death. Roots from a grass nymph have trapped me underground. The entrance to the burrow are on the other side of the hill.” A thirty-minute timer appeared over Nobody’s head.
“I will be back shortly.” He hobbled around the hill bleeding and only healing thanks to his high regen.
Outside of the burrow was a shroom with a red cap. It was lv2 but that didn’t mean anything with the potential of higher level monsters. He thought about it analytically. There was no way he could place a trap and wait for the stationary monster to run into it. So, instead he entered sneak mode despite the pain.
He had to move slow. In the dirt close to the monster he made the fire trap. After drawing a circle around the array in the dirt, it flashed blue collecting mana for detonation. That mana would also keep the wind from messing up the trap.
Hobbling back, he took out a rock and threw it at the shroom and stood up. After catching the shrooms agro he waited for it to fall into his trap. A smile of anticipation covered his face just before the shroom’s foot stepped on the circle.
Flames erupted upward catching the shroom on fire. It ran around in a circle before falling over.

Nobody sighed loudly, as he walked over to the corpse. It was getting easier to walk on the broadhead thanks to pain resistance. It still hurt like a bitch, but at least he could deal with it.
His stomach growled upon smelling the delicacy that was roasted mushroom. He picked up the juicy monster and put it in his inventory for later.
His stomach growled again, as he thought about making a fire and cooking the large rabbit and using the shroom slices as a bun. He could have BBQ.
Nobody wasn’t distracted, he was just starving. But he needed to keep focused. There was bound to be higher level enemies in the cave, he began to put some weight on his leg. Gritting through the pain, he entered sneak mode.
He made his way into the barrow. Every few feet he made a fire trap just for any mob that might wonder through. He saw how they like to go through the cross lines of the tunnel and put them in the paths.

He made sure to stay far away when the explosions went off. He didn’t want to end up like last time.
Nobody arrived at the Nymph’s chamber. It was a large room surrounded by thick roots. Some of those roots held the NPC down.
The nymph had skin like freshly cut grass. Her body was slight with a grass skirt and a grass bra. The roots holding the NPC, seemed to lead directly to her. She was currently sucking the life out of the NPC.
“Oh, what have we here a brave adventurer dares to enter my domain. I the Grass Nymph, Glade will do battle with you adventurer.” She said before laughing uproariously. Nobody targeted the monster.
Suddenly, multiple explosions went off leading this way.

“You may have defeated my monster followers, but I am far more powerful. When the air is cold my grass has the power to produce arsenic. Taste my deadliest of poisons.” Nobody took out a rock and chunked it at her.
The rock smashed into her face causing her to fall back and hit her head on the wall.

Target has been knocked unconscious
A smile crept over his face as he had an idea.
Thanks to his skills his traps did 60% more damage. So about 75 per minute when left in one place. Nobody wasn’t feeling good. Even if he was growing used to the pain, he still had a broadhead in his leg.
So basically, when it came to pain, he had 50% more endurance to help deal with it. His grand total of 75SP went down rapidly, when he was moving on his damaged limb. Only the thought of finally getting rid of the broadhead kept him going.
He filled the room with Fire traps. He placed the nymph on her bed and then made his way outside. Another four minutes passed with no explosion, meaning the nymph was still unconscious.
“Adventurer there is still time left before I starve. You can still save me.” The NPC said.
“Will the dagger appear in my inventory when the quest is a success or do you have it on you.” Nobody asked the NPC.
“An interesting question adventurer. Of course, it will appear in your inventory. That’s how all quest items work.” Nobody nodded his head.
“Do you have any more quests for me after this one?” He asked the NPC.
“No, this quest is my only reason to exist.” Nobody turned his head at the NPC’s words.
“He walked a distance away and said the words. “Remote Detonation,” A massive fiery explosion shot up and collapsed the hill.

After sitting on the ground and holding up his leg, it was time to cut out the broadhead. Just touching the iron broadhead sticking out of his bone caused him immense pain. The wound was an angry red around the edges.
The dagger in his hand was very sharp. The suns’ rays glinted off the metal as he stabbed into this calf. It felt like someone stuck a red-hot iron into his veins. Once started he couldn’t stop or else he would lose his nerve.
Using the point of the broadhead he guided the knife down and twisted. He heard his bone crack, as he yanked at the broadhead. With a pop it came loose, and he yanked the knife free. Nobody watched his leg heal before his eyes. The wound pinched itself closed then even the redness vanished. The only thing left from his ordeal was a white scar.
All that pain and time stolen from him was now an insignificant scar. Shakily, he got back to his feet and surveyed the destruction he caused.
The hill was dented in on itself, like a busted zit. Grass was dying all around the hill curtesy of the nymph dying, most likely. Nobody stared at the two yellow stars. They hadn’t moved since he stepped onto this floor. He let out a sigh, as a feeling of melancholy washed over him.
Nobody’s stomach growled. He was starving, and he had to eat something. Taking the steamed shroom from his inventory, he tore a chunk from the monster and shoved it in his mouth. It was chewy and textured like a mushroom. It was also salty.
Walking in the direction he suspected was north he spotted the bottom half of the NPC. Somehow that guys pants survived the explosion.
The description didn’t do the pants justice. They were orange plaid with stripes. They literally didn’t go with themselves. He put them on anyway then searched the corpse for shoes. The feet were missing.
Nobody needed shoes. He shook his head and started sprinting North.
