Deep in the suburbs, in a desolate and dark forest lies a tan-skinned youth, age 15 to 16 years old. A combat knife is neatly stabbed in his heart and his hands and feet are bound by rope. The youth’s name is Kuro and he was betrayed by his most trusted friend Soma Cruz. His life was thrown into chaos after trying to save his Mina Hakuba, their common friend dear to them.

  Left in despair while slowly losing blood, Kuro cursed in his mind. He wished nothing but to avenge the mishaps that he encountered.

  “An Eye for An Eye!” he muttered in his heart.

  When he was on the verge of losing consciousness, he suddenly heard a voice in his head.

  “Do you wish to exact vengeance?” said the voice.

  “Do you wish to vanquish the deep regret in your soul?”.

  With all of his effort, Kuro managed to utter softly “YES!”.

  Kuro’s blood seeped into the soil where he was left to die. For some unknown reason, his blood was able to reach several feet below (deep into the soil). A tattered armor shining in alternating black and gold color can be found buried deep within the soil. When the blood reached the tattered armor, it seemed to quickly absorb the blood. After a couple of minutes, a subtle shaking can be felt from the tattered armor, as if it was trying to burrow its way up from being buried deep within the earth.

  After an unknown amount of time, Kuro was jolted awake. With cold sweat in his back, Kuro realized that he was in an unknown space. There was only darkness and decay in this vast place and the only source of light was a tattered armor shining in the middle. Struggling with all of his strength, Kuro slowly walked towards it, while constantly feeling week and helpless.

  He gritted his teeth and said to himself “I will satisfy my vengeance even if it costs my own soul”.

  As if the tattered armor understood his feelings, it shined even brighter and the light that came from it seemed to give Kuro strength.

  Kuro then heard a voice in his head “Chosen one, I have been waiting for a long time”. “For several years I have been lying on this land, sleeping and only the blood of the chosen one can arouse me from my deep slumber” muttered the tattered armor.

  “Do you desire power to rule? Power to enact your revenge? Power to protect what is important to you?” said the tattered armor in an awe inspiring tone.

  Without hesitation, Kuro muttered “I Do!”.

  The tattered armor, comprising of a chestplate, suddenly merged with Kuro while shinning Gold. After a few seconds, the shining gold armor changed into black, and then it changed into gold. After a couple of breaths the an eye-piercing light of mixed gold and black made Kuro close his eyes.

  “You have obtained the power of both light and darkness. The power of a Judge of the Underworld and the power of a Gold Saint of Athena!” muttered the tattered armor.

  “From here on you will be known as the wearer of the Yin-Yang Sagittarius Cloth (YYSC)!”. “Just wish in your heart to don or remove this cloth at will!” said the newly reborn YYSC.

  Without hesitation, Kuro willed in his heart to don the YYSC. The right eye of Kuro turned pure golden while the left eye of Kuro turned pure black. The right part of the armor was clad in a pure golden luster, while the left part of the armor was as dark as the deepest abyss of Hell.

  A tremendous amount of information flowed into the mind of Kuro. He focused all of his willpower in his heart while trying to emulate how to burn ones’ cosmos. With his natural talent, Kuro was able to burn his cosmos up to the 6th sense, allowing him to match the strength of a Silver Saint of Athena for a few breaths of time.

  By focusing either on his Golden Eye or Darkness Eye, Kuro could see his status (similar to status when playing games) denoting details regarding his strength, weaknesses, power level and techniques.
