The market was packed to the brim. The shouting of merchants and the enticing aromas of various street foods invited everyone to lose themselves in the crowd. Amidst this chaos, Yu Sui and Mo Yan walked side-by-side. The bazaar was so vibrantly decorated it looked as if it were preparing for a grand festival.
Mo Yan asked in a low, uncertain voice, "So? What is the plan?"
In response, Yu Sui squinted at the crowd, pouting as he fell into deep thought. Suddenly, he leaned close to Mo Yan and whispered something into his ear.
Mo Yan’s eyes nearly bulged out of his head. He looked at Yu Sui with a gaze full of indignation. Seeing the glare, Yu Sui spoke in his usual mischievous tone, "What?... Why are you looking at me like that? This is the only way. If you can't do it, fine, I’ll just do it alone."
He turned to walk away, but Mo Yan quickly grabbed the back of his robes. Yu Sui stopped and looked back to see Mo Yan holding a tiny piece of his fabric with two fingers, looking conflicted. A devilish smirk spread across Yu Sui’s face.
"You said you wanted a melody..." Yu Sui reminded him playfully. "So, you’re going to have to do this."
A Few Minutes Later...
The market was buzzing. Traders shouted prices, children darted between legs, and the scent of spicy dumplings hung heavy in the air. Then, a strange sight emerged. Yu Sui appeared, looking like a sly fisherman wearing a triangular straw hat. Moving through the crowd with confidence, he waited for the perfect moment.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
With practiced precision and cunning, he slipped his hand into the pouch of a careless man the same man who had been ostentatiously showing off a shiny gold coin just moments ago. Without making a sound, Yu Sui swiped the coin and strolled casually toward a nearby shop. He discreetly tucked the coin under the wheel of a cart selling onions.
Then, as if by pure accident, he intentionally bumped into the man.
The man spun around, fuming.
"You! Hey, can’t you watch where you’re going?"
Yu Sui bowed slightly. "Sir, please forgive me." Having said that, he walked over to stand by a storefront nearby.
When the man reached into his pouch to pay for a purchase, he found everything except his gold coin. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead as he realized it was gone. He let out a loud, panicked cry.
"My coin! It's gone."
He looked around frantically until his eyes landed on Yu Sui, who was standing nearby.
"You thief! This man stole my gold coin."
Yu Sui immediately launched into his performance. He blinked his eyes innocently, took off his hat, and began to plead his case. He pulled out a fake "fisherman’s seal" and waved it before the gathering crowd.
"No! I am innocent! I have stolen nothing. I am but a humble fisherman. This is slander... I was merely passing through!"
But the man was not about to back down.
"Oh, is that so!? If you're innocent, why were you lurking? Let me search your belongings!"
A crowd began to form, people whispering among themselves.
"A thief?"
"Look at him... he definitely looks suspicious!"
"He looks a bit young to be a master fisherman, and look at those tattered clothes...?"
Just as the commotion reached its peak and the crowd grew restless, a voice of absolute confidence rang out from the back of the throng.
"What is happening here?”
