Euly leans in, his breath warm against her neck as he whispers, "You know, I've been wanting to do this all morning." He brushes his lips softly against her skin, feeling her shiver in response. Gravixor's eyes flutter closed, and for a moment, she allows herself to be lost in the sensation.
"Wait, Euly, not here," she murmurs, her voice barely above a whisper. "Anyone could walk in."
Euly chuckles, his fingers twirling a strand of her hair. "Right here is the best place. Everyone is out for morning breakfast. We have the whole deck to ourselves."
Gravixor's blush deepens, and she playfully pushes him away, her ears twitching nervously. "I know, we should go eat first, you know. I'm starving."
Euly's grin widens as he steps closer, his hand cupping her cheek. "You're adorable when you're flustered." He leans in again, his lips brushing against her neck, but this time, Gravixor's eyes widen in surprise. She pushes him off, her ears standing straight up.
Standing before her is Levy, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "What are you two doing?" he asks, a smirk playing on his lips.
Gravixor stutters, "N-nothing. Just... just talking."
Euly chuckles and runs a hand through his hair, trying to look nonchalant. Levy squints his eyes, studying them intently.
Gravixor, growing more flustered, snaps, "Beat it, twerp?"
Levy grins, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Ohhh, I see you two were doing something naughty."
Gravixor's ears twitch wildly as she protests, "No, we weren't!"
Levy laughs, a sound that echoes through the deck. "You were too, I saw. But don't worry, I promise I might not tell Braxill."
Gravixor's expression turns serious. "You better not say anything, Levy. It'll break his heart."
She whspered to herself in darmatic agony "He's in love with me."
Levy's grin widens, and he crosses his arms. "Well, I won't say anything under one condition."
Gravixor's eyes narrow. "Are you blackmailing me?"
Levy chuckles. "Next time you're in front of Braxill, I'm gonna command you to act like a monkey and say, "I'm a stupid woman and Levy is my King," he laughs heartily.
Euly shakes his head, a faint smile on his lips. "That's evil, Levy."
Gravixor comedically cries, her hands covering her face. Levy's laughter fills the room as he adds, "Anyway, I'm looking for Braxill. I think he's in trouble."
Gravixor's expression turns from playful to concerned. "In trouble? What happened?"
Euly steps forward, his brow furrowed. "Is everything alright?"
Levy sighs, his smile fading. "It's a long story." Suddenly, the sound of people racing down the hall reaches their ears, and a major commotion begins to take place. The three exchange a glance, knowing that whatever is happening, it's about to change everything.
The lower deck swarmed with urgency. People rushed past with wide eyes, murmuring in disbelief, carrying strange colors in their hands.
Yuli caught one man by the arm.
"Hey, what's happening and what is that in your hands?"
The man's face lit with wonder. "It's a miracle, and this is some kind of surface food."
Euly "Surfice food?"
Another shoved past, laughing with tears in his eyes. "You gotta see it to believe it!"
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
Yuli and Gravixir exchanged a stunned glance. Gravixor muttered, "A miracle..."
Levy froze mid-step, his fists clenched. Could it be?
The three of them broke into a run. They burst through the doors and into blinding sunlight.
Outside on the zoner streets, before them stretched a massive crowd. At the center of it all stood colossal converter machines, their gears glowing with an otherworldly pulse. The air smelled of butter and spices, sugar and smoke.
Yuli spotted Raffi in the throng. "Raffi!"
Raffi turned, grinning, a carrot in his hand.
"Raffi, what's happening? What's up with this crowd?"
Raffi bit into the carrot with a crunch, juice dripping down his chin. He held it out. "Hey, try this."
Yuli hesitated, then bit. His eyes widened. "What is this? I've never tasted anything like it before."
Raffi grinned. "That's real food. It's a carrot. Yuli, a carrot form the surface."
Beside him, Miss Mini nodded, her voice soft with reverence. "Yes... Braxill is responsible for this. Or rather..." She glanced upward. "...his god, Joy." She smiled and continued "This machine he imagined, it created all sorts of food I've never seen before."
Gravixor's eyes snapped up. Perched atop the great machines sat Braxill, hair stirring in the wind, his small frame dwarfed by the steel. Levy followed her gaze, his breath catching in disbelief.
Did Braxill really create all this?
The crowd was alive with joy, their hands full of strange foods: hot dogs, Doritos, steaming spaghetti, cookies crumbling with chocolate chips. A child tugged at Levy's sleeve, holding out a small cup of something pink and cold.
Levy tasted it. His eyes filled with wonder. "What is this, it's so tastey?"
Braxill slid down the massive converter machine onto the ground.
"Braxill said it's called ice cream, that ones pinnaple!" the child chirped.
Levy whispered, "Pinnaple.. ice cream... This is delicious."
All eyes focused onto braxill
Braxill reached his arms our wide.
"Listen, everyone. This food, these flavors, they come from the surface world."
Onlookers listened attentively, licking their ice-cream cones and chewing on sweet candy bars as laughter drifted through the air.
One whispered, "The Surface... isn't the Surface supposed to be uninhabitable?"
Another chuckled between bites. "No way this is Surface food, but then again... I've never tasted anything like it."
A third voice, softer, almost reverent: "That kid... where did he come from? He feels almost divine."
Braxill continued "The surface isn't lost. We've only been living in the sky for a time. Joy, the God of the universe, made the surface. He made the sun, the moon, the stars. He made art. And all people are equal. Whether you're a Zoner, a Royal, or an Animal, Joy made us all hehe."
Braxill pointed to a random stranger in the crowd.
"One day, Joy will undo all the evil in this world. He's gonna use artist and Artiancers to reclaim the surface. Then after we beat up the evil robots he'll give the power of eternity, where you can eat all the cookies and ice cream you want without fear. That's his promise, so don't be afraid of those evil royals."
Some onlookers couldn't fathom ever returning to the surface again.
Euly "Joy, that sounds like a god I can get behind!"
The crowd murmured, eyes wide, food forgotten in their hands.
Gravixor spotted Lanni in the crowd, orange liquid staining her lips. "Lanni!" She hurried to her, voice trembling. "Braxill... we said we can't let him use his power. Won't this put him in danger?"
Lanni licked her straw, unbothered. "This? It's called an Icy. Orange flavor. It's very good."
"Lanni!" Gravixor snapped. "I'm serious!"
Lanni's eyes softened as she looked back to Braxill. "Honestly... at first I was upset. But look around. This isn't danger. This is divine. This child is being used by Joy himself, no in away we all are. How can I stop something this miraculous from unfolding?"
Gravixor's mouth fell open. She looked back at Braxill, her chest tightening. He really is... something special.
From the crowd, voices rose.
"Braxill, tell us more about Joy!"
"Who is he? What else has he done?"
"Why would he choose you?"
Braxill "Joy chooses all sorts of people not just me."
Braxill raised his hand. "I can only tell you what I know. I don't know everything. But if you have Joy anything is possible."
A woman called out, "But who are you really?"
Braxill hesitated. He looked down, his voice quiet. "I am....umm......... I am Braxill."
The crowd fell silent. Braxill presence gave them all a sense of comfort, perhaps they are not alone.
Then a man shouted, "Are you the son of Joy?"
Braxill's voice rang like a bell. "We're all sons of Joy. All humans are demi-gods, because we were made in Joy's image. He gave us the power to love."
The words rippled across the people, striking hearts like lightning.
And then, unseen by the crowd, a golden light flickered from the sky from ontop of a nearby house. A tall figure appeared, armored in radiant gold, his helm crowned with light.
Levy's breath caught. His eyes widened. He alone could see it. "Who... who is that?"
Braxill looked up at him, from atop the machine. Their eyes met. His lips moved, a whisper only Levy could hear.
"King Gold"'
This figure was none other than King Gold, the Arch Angel, the first song to Joy.
A name long sung in myths... now standing before them in radiant truth. The wind howled through the machines, carrying the name like fire across the soul of the boy and the people below.
