Narcissus smiled softly. "Because Guan Yu was like a brother to me.”

He continued, voice steady. "He already told me something like this could happen. He told me to take care of the next Glaive heir.”

Akime's eyes widened in shock. "What are you talking about?" Her voice cracked—literally unbelievable.

Akime instantly pressed, eyes sharp. "What else do you know?”

Nar straightened up. "Freshen up. I don't know when Reo will wake, so let him sleep. I have important business.”

Akime felt relief wash over her. How kind he is to me, she thought, after all I did to him. A soft laugh echoed inside her head.

Reo sensed a large aura—warm and welcoming. The door creaked open.

Nar stepped in. "Oh, you finally woke up. I'm Guan Yu's friend—more like brother. And more importantly, the large katana of Kochab

  Reo's mind swarmed with questions.

Nar grinned confidently. "It's not time for questions." He unrolled a scroll.

Akime and Reo leaned in. "What is that?”

Nar's eyes gleamed. "Guan Yu's techniques.”
