Chapter 6

Karna flew into the sky before raining down twenty solar orbs that moved at sub-light speed. Leonidas jumped toward Karna, using the orbs as a boost before rushing toward him. Leonidas slashed down, but Karna blocked with his spear and then kicked him to the ground. Karna blasted several rays of sunlight, which Leonidas dodged, then sent four compressed fireballs that hit Karna.

The crowd roared in shock and excitement; the announcer screamed, “The first hit by the Crown Prince of Flames!”

Karna decided to use his full strength. Although he was at the same stage as Leonidas, he had more experience, which made him perfect for the role. He stood on the ground before raising his hands; suddenly, thousands of solar beams rained upon Leonidas. Leonidas used his flames as a boost, flying toward Karna with crushing speed. He struck at Karna, but the blow was blocked by a solar barrier.

But Leonidas didn’t give up; he channelled his energy to cut through the barrier, and he succeeded in doing so; he attempted to stab his abdomen. But Karna pushed Leonidas back before then summoning several sun blades aimed at Leonidas. They struck with immense force, unleashing a blast akin to a nuclear explosion and leaving a city-sized crater.

But Leonidas endured the attack by raising his flames from his tachi high in the sky before then cutting down at Karna. Karna blocked the blow, though its impact was quite evident as the ground around them broke and shook. Before Leonidas could close the distance, Karna, using a more condensed version of a sun beam, blasted through rocks, melting them into a lava-like substance.

Leonidas managed to barely dodge the strike; a little part of his hair was burnt off. Karna continued, releasing another beam but this time slamming it on the ground, creating a sort of split in the ground. Leonidas jumped to the side before rushing in, attempting a stab, but Karna flew up to the sky and threw his spear at Leonidas, screaming, “Brahmastra Kundala!”

It flew at Leonidas with sub-light speed, making it practically impossible for Leonidas to dodge—but he didn’t. He took the blow head-on; the explosion that followed was like a nuke. But Leonidas expanded his flames into a massive column that blocked the attack; he struck Karna, sending him flying. Karna suddenly began laughing, a happy laugh he had not let out in a long time.

“Yes, Crown Prince of Flames, fight me! Yet it seems my efforts were not enough. I will have to destroy you with this final move,” Karna said as he rose to the sky.

An aura of intense heat emanated from his body, then turned into flames that surrounded his hands and feet. Suddenly, his spear transformed, releasing a burst of overwhelming energy and strength, and flames erupted everywhere, like a cosmic dance of destruction. Leonidas breathed as he jumped up, as flames danced around the battlefield, turning the ground into lava.

“Warrior of red and black, Leonidas, you are the greatest rival ever, and I shall give you the honour of my most powerful technique!”

Leonidas said nothing, deciding to use his strongest attack, a technique he had learned from Arjuna. His flames grew wilder and more uncontrolled, but suddenly they condensed around his blade.

“Vasavi Shakti!” Karna screamed those words.

A sun appeared above him—the actual sun condensed to the size of a city. Karna launched it at Leonidas; he said nothing. Suddenly, his katana changed, flowing around his body, forming a sort of bio-draconic suit. Leonidas then condensed his black and red flames into his fist until they collapsed into a sphere of absolute darkness edged with crimson.

He screamed as he shot it: “Annihilation Cannon!”

The beam erased a mile-long path, blocking Karna’s sun; they clashed together. The crowd was shocked, questioning how two Adept stages could be this powerful. The Princess of the Brahman Empire, Bharati, watched the match with calculating eyes.

‘Interesting. So these are the two my stupid brother has trained.’

Karna stood there exhausted, and so did Leonidas; they both had used most of their Rift energy. They both stood exhausted yet determined to win. They ran toward each other and punched each other; Leonidas dodged and gave Karna a clean uppercut. Karna stumbled back, blood trickling down from his forehead. Karna used a tiny bit of Rift energy, focusing it on his hand before then punching Leonidas, sending him flying a bit.

Leonidas stood up; he felt as if his internal organs had been shattered, yet he didn’t give in; if he did, he would fail his kingdom. Leonidas ran, punching Karna four times in the stomach, attempting to put down Karna, yet they both didn’t give up. They exchanged punches as blood and sweat flew across the ring till finally Leonidas mustered up the rest of his Rift energy into his fist, punching Karna’s head off, but he collapsed.

Leonidas woke up in a bed as he saw Karna beside him and tubes connecting both of them together. Although Leonidas was horrified, he couldn’t move; suddenly, sharp pain shot through his body as if his very soul was being rewritten. He screamed in anguish as he felt as if his soul was being poured with hot metal. Suddenly, the pain stopped, and a system appeared on his face; it displayed a notification.

[Acquisition of the Infinite Talent System successful. Current talents: Flames of Annihilation, Solaris ????? ]

Leonidas stared at the system screen, confused. ‘What the hell? I’m probably hallucinating. Though it seems weird—why would they connect the tubes together?’

Leonidas observed the room he was in; it was small, with marble floors and walls, and a circular screen. Leonidas saw that it was about to play the next fight. It was between a boy named Che Afan—he looked to be a brawler—yet Leonidas could inherently sense his heat. He was fighting a guy with ivory skin and white hair who could teleport, called Kaito. Leonidas watched the fight with intensity.

The young man with long braids, black skin, and blue eyes walked toward Kaito, Tyson flowing through his veins. His talent was a volatile substance coursing through his veins, which they dubbed “Tyson.” Tyson is so volatile that it charges at even the slightest movement; heated, the radioactive, highly combustible substance releases large volumes of gas within Che’s bloodstream. This creates explosive movements that double their potency on contact.

Kaito quickly teleported in front of Che, attempting to punch his head off. Che dodged, punching Kaito away. Kaito quickly teleported back, but that would be his biggest mistake. Che ran toward Kaito, each step fueling Tyson. Che did a double leg kick, attempting to absolutely destroy him, but Kaito teleported behind him, punching him to the ground. Che quickly stood up and started to deal a flurry of blows, each one hitting harder than before.

Che quickly jumped up, but Kaito teleported behind him before punching him to the floor. Then, cheating, he teleported to near space, then back, releasing that energy, which sent Che flying through several mounds of stone and rocks. Che stood as if it were nothing; the floor was melting into a lava-like substance.

  TYSON HAD FULLY AWAKENED.

Che rushed toward Kaito at the speed of sound. Kaito had broken his guard, expecting Che to be dead. Che punched Kaito before rushing in again, punching him over and over again. But before Che could react, Kaito grabbed Che and then teleported to near space, then dropped Che. Kaito then teleported away.

Che felt the air tear through his flesh, but suddenly, Che focused and positioned his body to be more aerodynamic. The movement fueled Tyson to around 200°C; his whole body was red, and he was approaching critical acceleration. Kaito teleported to him, attempting to beat him till he fell, but as soon as he touched Che, Che grabbed him, the heat burning Kaito.

Kaito screamed in agony and pain while Che screamed out, “Meteor Bullet!” Che crashed into the ground, blood splattered around the floor, creating a city-sized crater.

The announcer screamed, “And we have a winner: CHEEEE LIONHEARTTTT!”
