  Trailblazer

‘The right of all life is to hold the stars’ warmth between their palms. I will guide them through the night, torch in hand.’

(for those who dream of a brighter tomorrow)

Trailblazer is an Order from the Knowledge branch.

It is described as an Order focusing around high amounts of team synergies, elaborate combos, and extensive setups and payoffs, demanding a large amount of resources and support dedicated to make Seekers of this Order function properly.

As an Order from the Knowledge branch, it is typically filled with Mages, though it can sometimes extend to other characters with complex kits requiring dedicated teambuilding and bespoke scaling vectors or gimmicks.

Lorewise, Trailblazer differs from the other Knowledge Oaths in that its Seekers usually seek knowledge for a primarily selfless reason; they wish to invent things to better the world, or create new spells that will improve the quality of life for everyone on Manusyara. Their Oaths are defined by the quality of wishing to elevate all life alongside them, as opposed to the more selfish desires of its fellow Knowledge Orders.

Inventors and pioneers are the most typical archetypes for those of the Trailblazer Order.

  LORE | MEDIA

  Knowledge

Knowledge is a lore term, describing one of the four branches of the original, ancient Knights Templar, split into four Orders: Nature, Truth, Trailblazer, and Dominion.

Game-wise, it is not used for any in game classification, but it is unofficially considered to be the branch belonging to the Mage class, with most of its members focusing on Spells, though as always, exceptions exist. It is also considered to be the most complex branch in the game; many of its members are considered to be more difficult to utilise and have kits that are not straightforward compared to the simplistic damage-dealers in the Blade branch.

Lorewise, Seekers of the Knowledge branch’s Oaths are defined by the desire for more knowledge and control over the fundamental aspects and basic principles of the world, though each for differing reasons.

  History ^

The first known adopter of one of the Knowledge Oaths when the Knights Templar were founded in Calybcor was…

  Truth

‘Something unknown always lingers in the dark shadows of the world, hungry to consume all before its mystery dies. But I shall be the one to devour it first.’

(forbidden knowledge will make you hungry, but satiate no one)

Truth is an Order from the Knowledge branch.

It is described as an Order that focuses itself on ‘exploring unknown territory’ and is filled with ‘high individuality’. It is usually filled with characters who are damage-focused and self-reliant, but rely on unique gimmicks or resources that may require odd gameplay patterns or gear requirements that deviate from straightforward damage dealers like Retribution and Apotheosis. It is also by far the most self-sufficient of the Knowledge Oaths, usually not requiring a condition from allies, enemies or the battlefield to function.

As an Order from the Knowledge branch, it is typically filled with Mages, though it can sometimes extend to other characters with unique gimmicks that do not require a full team of setup to pay off.

Lorewise, Truth differs from the other Knowledge Oaths in that its Seekers usually seek knowledge either for its own sake or for a more worldly, material, selfish reason. For comparison, Aleister of the Trailblazer Oath develops new spells because he believes that Manusyara must enter a new Aeon to survive the threat of the Seven Legions, while Luna delves into tombs and temples out of her own fascination with history and mythology.

Researchers, scholars, teachers and explorers are the most typical archetypes for those of the Truth Order.

  Luna Symphonia

  ‘The Delver Witch’

  Order: Truth

  Elements: Fire

  Class: Mage

  Series: None

Exclusive Oath: [Symphonia Requiem] (Open Link in New Tab)

Luna Symphonia is an A-Rank Truth Seeker. She is an all-rounder capable of handling a wide variety of situations through her [Ritual Magic] and unique spellcasting system. She is awarded to the player after completing the tutorial.

She is known as the ‘Delver Witch’ due to her unique fascination with raiding temples and tombs, as archaeology and history are considered to be strange interests for witches, who typically focus entirely on the development of their own magic.

She is the main protagonist of Seekers of Lost Sin throughout the Main Story Quest and many Story Events, working alongside Albus to discover the lost secrets of the Kingdom of Calybcor, hoping to unearth knowledge that will return the Seven Legions back to their Realm.

  Skills

  [Magic Training]

  Passive 1

Luna’s experience as a practicing witch gives her [15% - 30%] more Spell Damage, and increases her Mana Regeneration Rate by [30% - 60%].

  Multipliers v

  [Ritual Magic]*

  Passive 2

As a ritual witch, Luna does not spontaneously cast spells, and instead, must prepare the proper tools and rites to cast them. While [Fireblast], [Steam Eruption] and [Starburst] can be cast unconditionally with just her ritual dagger and grimoire, Luna must prepare to cast her other three spells.

Luna accumulates [Ritual Points] when spending a portion of her Maximum Mana, and cycles through three spells which are cast automatically when enough [Ritual Points] are accumulated.

[Searing Wounds]: Luna adds Supplemental Fire Damage to all allies’ Attacks and Spells for [5 - 10] seconds.

[Scorched Earth]: Luna causes the ground to crackle with magma, leaving behind an AoE that lasts for [3 - 6] seconds, dealing Fire Damage every second to all enemies inside of it.

[Flaming Zephyrs]: Luna strikes the highest health enemy in a range with three bolts of arcane fire, dealing Fire damage to the enemy with increased Critical Strike Multiplier. This skill always Critically Strikes.

[Tags: Fire, Spell, AoE, Duration, Buff, Critical, Projectile]

*Although all visually seeming as though each one corresponds to a unique combination with another element, all of Luna’s spells are purely Fire-based, and bear no benefits from any of the other five Elements except [Steam Eruption].

  [Fireblast]

  Basic

Luna lobs a fireball at the target enemy. A portion of this damage is dealt to nearby enemies.

  [Cooldown: 3s - 2s]

  Multipliers & Costs v

  [Tags: Fire, Spell, AoE]

  [Steam Eruption]

  Auto

Luna commands the earth beneath the area around her current target to erupt into a geyser of steam, knocking them upwards. This skill benefits from all increases and bonuses to Water Damage.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

  [Cooldown: 15s - 10s]

  Multipliers & Costs v

[Tags: Fire, Water, Spell, AoE, Knockback]

  [Starburst]

  Active 1

Luna channels the full power stored in her Symphonia Requiem, consuming a portion of her Maximum Mana to summon a starry nova of Fire Damage at the current target’s location, dealing bonus Fire Damage based on a portion of the Mana consumed.

  [Cooldown: 60s - 30s]

  Multipliers & Costs v

  [Tags: Fire, Spell, AoE, Arcane]

  [Witch’s Learnings]

  Active 2

Luna assesses the current situation, and focuses on casting the best spell in the current situation.

When this skill is toggled on, Luna remembers the last spell cast by [Ritual Magic], and removes the other options from her spellbook, casting the prepared spell at an increased cost of [Ritual Points], but having [10-20%] more effect.

  Community Average: 5/10

  Pros:

  • Incredibly versatile, can be built to fill any hole in a roster.

  •
  • Great for early game.

  •
  • She’s free.

  •
  • She’s cute.

  •
  • She pays your wages and living expenses.

  •
  • Her Oath is really good generically after the 1st Anniversary Level Uncap, at least.

  •
  • Please Limit Break her, vdu.

  •

  Cons:

  • Sadly has been powercrept massively out of relevance since launch.

  •
  • Was very good at launch to fill small rosters and do 2 things at once, but much better specialists have been introduced since.

  •
  • Has no way outside of [Starburst] to forcibly increase her Mana spending rate for [Ritual Points], and her current cooldowns and costs scale poorly with Unique based ways to scale mana spending.

  •
  • Rhythm can be exceptionally awkward if not forcing a particular spell through [Witch's Learnings], making her ironically very poor at multitasking.

  •
  • Does not scale that well even for a Launch-day A-Rank.

  •
  • Why do her spells look like they should be different elements but only one of them actually works with them?

  •
  • Seriously, please Limit Break her soon, vdu. 2nd Anniversary, maybe?

The grimoire that Luna carries around with her at all times. You’ve peeked inside a few times, but you’ve never understood what you were looking at. It’s all just a bunch of numbers and equations and things you were never smart enough to understand.

  [Dream Fragment 2]

Unlocked at LVL 40, Luna Bond LVL 2, MSQ Chapter 3 Clear

Apparently, it’s not common for witches to carry around grimoires anymore. Back in your day, every single spellcaster couldn’t be spotted without one, but nowadays, it’s only for those who have low mana supplies and people with sentimental personalities.

You know Luna doesn’t have a low mana capacity, since she was a top student at Nindo. Maybe she just has fond memories of the past?

  [Dream Fragment 3]

Unlocked at LVL 60, Luna Bond LVL 3, MSQ Chapter 5 Clear

Luna can often be found staying up late at night trying to figure out new formulas and equations for more powerful spells as the enemies grow tougher and tougher. Sometimes, she falls asleep at her desk. You don’t understand any of the numbers, but sometimes, there are crudely-drawn circles and arrows that have cute scribbles remarking on miscellaneous notes and inspirations.

Some of them seem to be ideas taken from your journey together, inspired by you and the other Seekers who have come to your Adventuring Company.

  Requiem

  noun

  1. A mass at which people honour and pray for a dead person

  2. A musical composition in honour of the dead

  3. An act or token of remembrance for the departed

Sometimes, you can hear Luna crying late at night, on nights that you’ve come to realise are the time she usually dedicates to expanding the Symphonia Requiem.

You wonder why it’s called ‘Symphonia Requiem’, at times. She doesn’t speak much of her past, and you try not to pry, but sometimes you can’t help but think about it anyways.

Who did she lose at Arden?

What did those people mean to her?

Maybe one day she’ll trust you enough to confide in you the answers.

  [Dream Fragment 5]

Unlocked at LVL 100, Luna Bond LVL 5, MSQ Chapter 11 Clear

A lot of the times, you still don’t understand the complicated problems and rituals being inscribed into the grimoire. But sometimes, there are things that don’t need to be comprehended for you to understand them.

On some nights, when the wind stands still, the stars are bright, and the night is perfect, she falls asleep with the book open in front of her. You go to cover her up with a blanket and can’t help but look at the open page.

There’s a photo or some kind of portrait on those nights. Three women stood side by side, holding each other close as they smiled for the viewer. You recognised Luna, but the black-haired woman with yellow eyes and loose clothes, and the neat-looking, gentle lady with golden hair and lavender eyes are entirely unfamiliar to you.

You never ask for their names or identities. You don’t need to. You know Luna loves them. That’s all you need to know.

“The ambition that births civilizations and the arrogance that crumbles them into sands of history, the hatred that explodes into wars and the kindness that grants salvation to the desperate, the great artistry and ephemeral beauty of our people and all the ugliness underneath… it must look so beautiful from up there, from the moon and the stars. Do you think from their view, we shine just as brightly? I hope one day I can find out with you by my side, and show our children there is something in the world worth dreaming of and searching for.”

  [Dream Fragment 1]

  Unlocked at LVL 1

An idyllic scene of a family of four around a small breakfast table. The youngest child runs around wildly, laughing as she runs around her hapless father, his hair magically catching fire. The older sister and mother watch from the sidelines with amused smiles. The appetising breakfast on the table is almost forgotten about during the midst of the chaos.

“Mum, Estelle, look at this spell I learned last night! Watch!”

“Kid, I don’t think that’s what that spell is meant to do.”

“Agh! Luna, what the hell are you doing to Daddy’s hair!? Do you know how hard I had to work to get it like this!? Luna!! Stop running around!!!”

  “Hahaha!”

“Everyone, please settle down. I worked very hard to make everyone’s favourite food for breakfast today, please enjoy it before it gets cold.”

“Nah, I think I’ll have Daddy’s hair for today’s meal instead. Seems pretty crispy, no?”

“Watch! Mum, I’m gonna do it again!”

  “LUNA, NO- AGH!”

“Mother, please don’t encourage her more…”

  [Dream Fragment 2]

  Unlocked at LVL 60

Breakfast is an important time for the family. Everyone wakes up and greets the morning sun. They rise from their wishful, peaceful dreams and open their eyes, ready to capture that bright future they saw in their sleep with their own two hands.

How cruel and beautiful, dreams are. It’s wonderful that every night, you can lose yourself in your imagination, see the faces of those departed from you, relive beautiful memories, and fantasize about a wonderful future in which everyone you ever loved lives together and you all live out your greatest dreams.

And it’s cruel, how in an instant, all of it can disappear the moment you open your eyes, and you’re left with nothing but the reminder that none of it is in your grasp. The only thing that awaits you is the eternal sunrise.

Still, no matter what, you can only live in the present, and hold close what you currently have.

  [Dream Fragment 3]

  Unlocked at LVL 80

If you asked people what they thought the name 'Helios Engine' meant, they would propose that it was perhaps referring to its limitless energy capacity and self-sustaining impossible combustion, like a miniature sun held in the palm of Belle's hands.

Others, namely jealous witches, wizards, and those devoted to Sol, would sneer and say it was an arrogant attempt to usurp God herself, trying to manufacture divine power through heretical, forbidden sorcery.

But if you asked Belle herself, she would not answer you. She'd just look at it and caress the impossible machine with a strange smile of remembrance on her face, then flip through that dusty Symphonia Sonata of hers.

Perhaps whatever that name means, or whoever it used to belong to, is not for anyone but herself and those dear to her to know. It is her precious secret to keep, in the end. Let it stay that way forever, all the way until the day the Paradox Engine comes online and all of Manusyara holds the stars in their hands. Maybe then, she can say that the Helios Engine fulfilled its purpose, staying by her side.

  [Dream Fragment 4]

Unlocked at LVL 100, Belle Bond LVL 5 and Fate’s Call 5 Clear

An impossible dream of a family that never was. Sometimes when Belle goes to sleep, she sees visions of a different, nonsensical future, where her fiancee lived, and the two girls she picked up were her biological daughters.

It’s hard for her to wake up sometimes. It hurts. Sometimes she refuses to get up from bed, clawing back at her blanket so she can try to see that dream once more, cursing Sol for making the sun rise and separating her from that beautiful scene.

But nonetheless, Belle wakes up and takes it all in stride. She takes those painful memories, all those wishful fantasies and could-have-been days, and turns them into her hopes and dreams. Perhaps she can’t live out that perfect life, but she can still try to give it to the children in front of her.

In a way, Belle’s wishes were a Paradox Engine all on their own. A way to turn limitless despair and regrets into infinite hope of reaching the stars; a paradoxical, illogical engine that ran off impossible principles of perpetual motion that would one day grant humanity Utopia.
