  I let out a heavy groan as I slowly woke up. It seemed I’d overslept. I stretched my limbs as far as they would go while staring blankly at the ceiling

  “It will pass…”

  “It surely will pass…” As I think out loud

  Surely a job won’t be as tiring as yesterday, right?

  An hour passed, after taking a bath, eating breakfast, etc., I'm heading toward the Arnentiasis Academy, sure there’s no class today, and Millenia asked me to be her personal assistant after lunch

  But somehow, I just wanted to move my body rather than lie around in bed

  The academy was pretty much deserted when I entered. Lessons had just begun

  I probably should go to the library and read some history materials, in case that Lilac young lady asks some stupid thing again

  As I walked in the hallway, I could hear some voices leaking through the classroom, where a teacher was teaching, though it was incomprehensible enough that I couldn’t understand a thing

  And there’s a bunch of students and a teacher with their own assistant in the academy ground doing some PE class, though I know it's not exactly a PE class, this isn’t earth, it might be some magic or aura practice

  When I take a turn in the hallway

  I was met by the principal, his maid, and the little girl from before

  “Oh? Isn’t it Kaleth? What are you doing today? Millenia doesn't have any classes today, right?” The three of them continued walking toward me

  Should I run? As I thought, cause this situations like this always turn into trouble

  “Good morning, Mr. Noah. Yes, Ms. Millenia mentioned yesterday there would be no class. I was heading to the library to read, I’d rather not waste the day.” Though that was a half-truth

  “May I ask something? Who’s she? Your daughter?” As I turn my gaze toward the little girl

  Her face is somewhat similar to his, though their hair is different, the little girl's hair is a bright yellow color, while Noah's hair is more like a bright brown, like cooked meat

  “Yeah? She is, you might not have known it, despite being a former student here, because she was with her mom a few years ago,” He explained it shortly, while always wearing that gentle smile of his

  “Her name’s Alias, 4 years old, she’s a pretty shy kid, because she hasn’t met a lot of people in her life yet.” While Noah was patting Alias's head softly

  I always feel he was hiding something, ever since the day I met him to get the assistant teacher job, a feeling of unease, but I couldn’t understand the reason behind it

  As far as I remember, in the entire Kaleth memories, from news and such, never once did Noah do something weird, but then why?

  His reason is believable, he’s a Halo-level mage, so, understandably, he couldn’t bring his daughter with him, cause he needs to do some expedition and such to hunt a monster

  “You could leave first, I’ll babysit Alias for a while,” As he ordered his maid

  “Hello, Alias.” As I squatted down a bit

  Alias then nodded a bit while holding her father's sleeve in her hand

  “Hmm? It seems she isn't that shy around you.”

  Trouble was certainly and absolutely going to happen…

  Noah was glancing around Alias and then me a few times, before nodding his head a few times

  “Since you don’t have much to do today, could you play with her a bit?” While Noah was placing his hand on my shoulder

  When I tried to open my mouth

  “The maid doesn’t want to play with her, they say things like, it's not professional or our task is to serve, blah blah.” Shrugging his shoulder

  Please act your age… As I said in deep in my mind, carefully, so it didn’t come out

  When I tried to open my mouth again

  “I have something to do, so I’m pretty busy right now, play with her okay.” Then he just left, as if it were the most normal thing in the world

  Who the hell leaves their child with strangers? As I let out a heavy sigh

  Then I turn around and catch my reflection in the windows. I didn't look like someone experienced in babysitting. What was I supposed to do?

  Great, just great, my plan now is ruined

  Alias was focusing while tiptoeing to see through the windows

  While focusing my eyes on the outside window scenery, I could see students doing some magic and aura practice. Was she interested in magic and aura things? How cute

  “Do you want to see the practice?” Trying my best to talk in soft voices

  Alias then looked at me while nodding with enthusiasm, with sparkling eyes

  “Alright then, follow me closely, okay?” As I stand up and begin walking toward the academy grounds, she instinctively holds onto my sleeves and follows closely

  I guess she’s really a shy type of kid?

  After a while, when we arrived at the academy ground, I was trying to find a bench that was pretty close to where the students practice

  Alias was staring intensely toward the student as if it were the most interesting in the planet

  I could see Raldo, a Guardian Art major. Is he a knight department and teaching magic? Is this academy undergoing bankruptcy? Though it's just a grade 1 student, it should be fine, right?

  Well, his bald head is as shiny as always huh?

  Grade I – VII, the system the academy used was pretty much the same as Earth's, though there’s no such thing as elementary, middle, and high school, there’s only one, and the requirement is that the individual's ages shouldn’t be less than 13 years old to enter as a freshman

  The academy had 2 departments, which were magic and knight, with each department having 6 different majors. Through grades I – III, they’ll learn the basics, before entering grade IV, where they’ll pick their main major

  It just… earth type of system, someone definitely came from the earth, or as usual, I just underestimated human intelligence to invent such a system

  A loud bell ringing sound could be heard off

  Finally, lunch times, while I let out a heavy sigh, given I didn’t move a bit, and just sitting my ass off in this bench for a few hours, it recalled such unpleasant memories of overworking Aronn

  Then Alias shifted closer and, hiding behind me, her act made me a bit confused

  “Hoo? Isn’t this Kaleth the lazy brat?” A heavy, deep voice could be heard while my focus was still on Alias

  Another trouble…

  When I turn my gaze around, I can see his bald head reflecting back at us, as if it were a sacred object

  “Hello, Mr. Raldo” Bow my head slightly

  “I thought it was a joke, that the lazy brat was working as a Millenia Assistant! It was so laughable that I might die!”

  Just die then

  Alias shifted further and further behind me until she was nearly hidden

  “Who’s that? Your daughter? Despite how lazy you are, you sure are a fierce young man, huh?!” And then he laughed a bit

  Do I look like some beast to you? While my brows are twitching a few times

  “She’s not, she’s Mr. Noah's daughter, say hi to him Alias” She then shook her head, to the point I could feel it in my back

  “Oh, right! He mentioned that he had a little daughter before.” While Raldo was trying to peek through behind my shoulder

  “She’s a shy type kid, huh! Doesn’t reflect his dad much!”

  She's scared of you because of your loud voices, you musclehead

  “I will leave you both then! Don’t be lazy around kid!” Before he disappeared from our sight

  Are all of the teachers here troublesome people?

  Before both of us stood up, I was in the middle of a thought: should we go into the cafeteria? But there are a lot of people there, and I’m with Alias at the moment…

  Then I decided to walk toward Rheya's office

  After knocking and getting an answer to enter the office, the moment her eyes caught Alias, her face lost its color

  “You had a kid all of this time?! Where did you hide her?! You!-“

  Then I raised my hand to stop her from shouting, since Alias was now hiding again behind me…

  “This’s Mr. Noah's daughter, not mine” Before letting a heavy sigh

  Rheya raised her eyebrows while looking at both of us, “Now that you said that, you don’t look similar at all”

  “She's insanely beautiful... you, not so much” Then she nodded herself off, as if to confirm her analysis result

  As I stared at the ceiling, I got zero respect in this academy, huh?
