Chapter 2: Two Lives, One Dream

09.43 cycle six, Ba'seth, of calendar Moonrachia

A cold sweat dripped from my forehead. It felt so real, I could hardly believe it.

Even right now, I'm sitting around the corner of the market area, looking down, and I can see my hand trembling

Then I saw someone approaching as their shadow filled the ground view

When I looked up, Rheya was staring at me

“You looked so pale, it's like you were going to die.”

Rheya, a 25 year old woman with flowing brown long hair and black eyes that could take anyone's attention, someone who looks more graceful than noble themselves

She's someone I see as an older sister, having lost my own family a long time ago

"You didn't eat breakfast again, huh?" she said, a statement of fact, not a question

I laughed awkwardly, "Ahaha..." There’s no way she would believe what I experienced

She hadn’t taken her eyes off me, and then she put the bag of bread that was in her hand into my hand

“Eat that, I’m busy enough today to watch over you.” Then she just left me, before I could answer back

I watched her go, “Is a job as a teacher really that busy?” And then look inside the bag, it seems she has already eaten half of it…

While eating the bread, I can’t help but think back to that weird visual experience before

I can't shake the feeling that something will happen

After eating the bread, I just strolled around the city, doing some sightseeing or something

I could see a lot of people recruiting for employers, but I don’t care, I still had a bit of saving from my scholarship

  “Unless my memory fails me”

The lower part of the city is pretty much a market area and a sea without a wall of border, so it's pretty much a good scenery, even right now, I still can see some ships coming and going, either sending someone or retrieving some supplies

I could smell a grilled fish, given that this city is near the sea, the fish itself is pretty cheap, though I guess a lot of people are already bored eating fish every single day

I didn't realize I'd walked quite far already, since the scenery had changed into the residential area

The residential area itself is the top part of this pentagon-shaped city, while the middle and the central part of it is a nobles and academy area

It's actually pretty crazy that the houses are pretty affordable compared to the other cities or even the kingdom, yet I think it makes sense enough, given that almost all the jobs come from the nobles themselves

So basically, most of us commoners are working under the nobles, it's rare for a commoner to employ another commoner here, though I heard it's not that rare in another city

An affordable house, academy tuition, food, etc. But the downside is that it's pretty hard to get a citizen pass for this city, but I can swear upon my name that the nobles here have their brains that work better than other nobles outside this territory

Then I entered my house, which is a pretty simple home, where the exterior is neatly arranged

It's probably already near lunch time, "so as an unemployed person, I figured I should do my job, which was to take a nap."

With the soft sounds of the mattress, as I throw myself into the bed and begin to close my eyes, before it sends me into dream realms

I begin dreaming about something weird again

The dreams were so vivid that every touch, smell, taste, and everything, I could sense it, and feel them

I'm dreaming as another person who lives on a planet named Earth

Which is weird, there’s one record which is called a lucid dream, where someone had a vivid dream and can control them, one of the steps is to record your dreams, which is something that I’ve done in the past month, where I write every single dream I had

But weirdly enough, I can’t control this

  Aronn

That’s the person's name, I’m dreaming from his perspective

His abusive childhood, how he tried his best studying since childhood and graduated from a famous university, trying to earn his parents' attention, a girlfriend who cheated on him despite being already engaged, and a job where he spent thousands of hours staying overnight

I pitied him. There’s no way someone could keep living after all of this, it made sense enough that he wanted to end it

When I woke up, I had tears falling down my cheeks, even painted my pillow in an eerily beautiful pattern

Then I left my bed and, standing up, the warm golden color of the afternoon filled my room, yet I stumbled slightly from a headache while my hand assisted me and held back my entire body through the walls

Walk closer into my chair and sat down, opening up my dreams journal, and just making me realize

How was I in his life or a dreams the moment I closed my eyes? “What a strange occurrence.”

Then I open the latest page of the dreams journal, and read them out before writing the new one

  Wait...

How could I be dreaming from inside Aronn's dream?

  Also…

Why are our dreams the same?

My hand trembled, turning the pages of the journal, first one, then another, faster and faster, my breath catching in my throat

Every entry. Every strange vision. They weren't just my dreams…

What's happening to me? To him…?

  To… us…?
