A large roar echoes throughout the arena. The source; the massive ogre decked out in metal armour and a massive wooden club that is bigger than even Tanker.
Eden tightens his grip on his axe, readying for combat. But when he looks around, he sees that most of his team is paralysed in absolute terror, unable to even think of fighting the Goliath in front of them. The only one besides Eden who is capable of even trying to attack is Old Man, who is in his fighting stance, intently focused and waiting for the battle to commence. Old Man will not have to wait much longer however, as the wooden cage looks like it will break open any second now.
Damn, this is going to be much more dangerous than I thought. It is not helping that most of my team is too scared to fight. I need to break their shackles of fear to even have a chance of victory. Eden concludes, as he prepares a speech to get his allies’ morale up.
“Guys, I know this may feel like an unclimbable mountain, a battle we could never hope to win. But we must stand strong and fight for even the smallest of chances! We must not give up our lives, our everything, without fighting with all that we have! This may be our last day, but I will be damned if this is not one to be remembered in glory! May we go out fighting if all else fails!” Eden screams out, just before the wooden cage fully breaks, letting loose the monstrosity that is the armoured ogre. Luckily, the men once frozen in fear, now have broken the chains that bound their will to fight on. With their spirit invigorated, they get into a hastily made battle formation. Tanker runs up to stand with Eden, taking the front lines and protecting the more frail members behind them. The Old Man stands to the far left of Eden, preparing to strike once the ogre walks up to them. Behind Eden and Tanker, Soldier, Cowboy, and Toxin crouch, with Toxin preparing some kind of spell, and Soldier loads an arrow in his bow, poison tipped. Soon after everyone gets into their positions, the ogre rushes at the group, club in hand. His movements were fast no doubt, the crushing strength upon each step was what took most notice. The wooden floor below was smashed like an egg, and splinters of wood pierced into the ogre, though the armour blocked most of it.
“Eden! Tanker! Hold the bastard down and get me an opening!” The Old Man yells at Eden and Tanker, who are quick to act and hold the line. Tanker readies his shield, angling his axe at a more downwards direction, while Eden holds his axe straight up, the green light drawing the ogre’s attention. The ogre is quick to reach the two and swings his club down, where Tanker holds his castle shield up, guarding Eden, who is swinging full force with the spirit axe horizontally. Both the ogre and Eden hit at the same time, though the end result differs greatly. While the ogre’s blow was heavy on Tanker, he is mostly unharmed, though his shield is certainly not. The ogre however was cut like tofu, with a gash now present on his knee, and the armour in the area was either destroyed or heavily dented. The ogre screeches from the pain, but it still swings its club down, right on Tanker’s shield The wooden ground underneath Tanker and Eden caves in, as Tanker’s shield starts to crack. In response Eden tries to cut the club up with his axe, though he does not expect much besides getting less pressure on Tanker.
Notice! You are cutting through wood. Skill “Wood Cutter” has activated
“Fuck This ogre is strong!” Eden yells out, hacking away at the wooden club, though only steel could match the hard club’s durability. Though his axe is slowly cutting through the club, making a messy but shallow slice in the club. The axe on the other hand is fine, glowing in its normal green light, holding back the ogre as he lifts his club to strike once more. The wood spirits are in awe of the match, though this is mostly directed towards the axe. Once the ogre’s attack is repelled, it readies it next strike. But before the ogre can ready his next swing, the Old Man runs up at blinding speeds and jumps up to the foul creature’s head, going to kick it with his foot. His foot is covered in a pure white aura, and is some kind of weird position, but Eden does not bother to pay attention to this as he goes to slash at the ogre’s leg. The slash hits before all else, dealing some good damage, but nothing lethal. But the ogre brings no response, not even a wince, as it focuses all its attention on Old Man. It seems to judge Old Man as a greater threat and quickly turns and goes to hit the Old Man with his club. The two collide for a brief moment, as their power seems equal at first. However, after but a few moments, it is clear who is stronger; the ogre. Old Man is knocked backed, but it seems to not do much damage.
“Old Man! I will get him off you, fall back!” Eden orders Old Man to do.
“I can do it myself Eden. Keep on striking, believe me his attacks will not land.” Old Man calmly says, unfit for the current circumstance, but rather fitting for Old Man, who has just recovered from the quick clash, but is still in midair. Suddenly, Old Man stops falling in midair, surprising everyone present, but the ogre does not care at all. He strikes down right on Old Man, but as the club collides with Old Man, he disappears into nothing, and is now spotted about 15 ft (4.57 m) away on the ground.
“Soldier, Toxin, fire!” Old Man says once he reveals himself out of astral projection.
“Quick Shot!” Soldier yells out as he fires off one of his poisoned arrows.
“Needle.” Toxin says, as poisonous needles fire out of his hands. But unfortunately, the arrow and needles are effortlessly blocked by the ogre’s club. However, the ogre had forgotten about Eden, who had just sliced at his armoured ankles, cutting straight through the old metal and making wounds all over its leg. The ogre does not fall from the wounds, and still stand proud even with his leg bleeding out gallons, and the bone is visible.

Damn this ogre is persistent! I thought my strikes would do more, but even with all these injuries do little damage. Even the Old Man is not accomplishing much. I need to get to a more vital part of the ogre, the only chance I have to truly slay it. But how in the world will I manage that? Eden wonders, but once he looks at Tanker he gets an idea.
“Hey Tanker! Do you have any knockback skills?” Eden asks Tanker, who looks a little confused.
“Yes, a have a bask skill with my shield, but why do you ask?” Tanker questions towards Eden.
“Okay I am going to need you to knock me up on the ogre with your shield.” Eden tells Tanker, who nods and gets into position before the ogre can get back to attacking them, as even though the beast is not reacting, it is still being slowed from the wounds.
“Got it! Jump on the count of three!” Tanker yells back at Eden, now counting for timing the shield launch. Eden then jumps up and is about to land on the shield, where Tanker slams into Eden
“Bash!” Tanker calls out, sending Eden flying up. This ends with Eden being sent right towards the neck of the ogre, but in exchange causing great damage to Tanker’s shield. Eden gets ready to swing right down on the neck, catching the ogre by surprise. Unfortunately for Eden, he hesitates for about a second before swinging his axe down for execution. This gives the ogre just enough time to prepare his club to swing back.
Notice! Skill “patience” has been activated.
Eden’s resolve hardens, and now swings down his shining axe full force, right as the ogre swings his club right at Eden, neither caring for defence. Eden swings right into the neck of the ogre, slicing through part of it, but before the strike is able to kill the ogre, Eden is blind sighted by the ogre’s club. A cracking sound echoes throughout the tent, as a lot of Eden’s ribs fracture, with some of them breaking. Eden is sent flying from the strike all the way to where the ranged forces are.
“Partner! You’ll need quite the patch up on that wounds of yours. Toxin, I reckon you got something to batch him up like a drink after a bullet wound.” Cowboy calls out to Toxin, who is in shock on the bad condition Eden is left in, but snaps out of it and begins to heal Eden.
“Minor recovery increase.” Toxin calls out, as a dark green light surrounds Eden, healing him up, but some fat on his body disappears in the process. Though the healing was enough to get Eden up and back on his feet and ready to fight. He starts to try to rush at the ogre.
“Thank you Toxin!” Eden calls out, as he runs out to the ogre, however he is clearly slower than usual. “Here you ugly bastard!” Eden yells out at the ogre, throwing his axe at the ogre, who instinctively blocks the attack, but making a large indent on the axe. However, the time spent blocking the axe allows Eden to reach and start to climb up on the ogre to reach near the neck, which the wound there is rapidly starting to close. He clings onto the metal armour of the ogre, and then gets to climbing up, which is surprising faster than Eden has ever run before. As Eden reaches the neck area of the ogre, he then gets his footing on the monster’s body to properly strike the ogre. The ogre however is not worried, as Eden has no weapon in his hand, but this was all to plan, totally.
“Collect!” Eden yells out, summoning his thrown axe to him while he was swinging his arm, allowing for a much faster attack with his axe at the monster’s neck. It screams out in pain as 1/3 of its neck has been cut off from an unexpected attack of the weaken man. But, surprising the entire group, it still lives and tries to shake Eden off. However, the ogre has lost the former focus it had to guard its body, leaving both Tanker and the Old Man to strike at the legs of the creature. An axe and foot strike the other leg, but the axe only damages the armour. However, the kick from Old Man shatters the hamstring region of the ogre.
Thud It falls to the ground at once, with his legs heavily damaged. Eden, still on the ogre’s body, swings once more upwards, but the falling of the ogre makes Eden not hit the bleeding neck. The strike instead makes a deep cut on the ogre’s chin. After this blow, the ogre’s head is sent up, knocking back Eden, making him fall to the ground.
Thud. Oh that hurts- wait, it does not. I thought that would do more damage. Eden thinks as he hastily gets back up, where he notices that his entire body has healed, as green energy from his axe coats him, revealing itself as the main cause of this healing. Though Eden does not waste another second on this, and begins to get attacks stacked on the ogre to finish it.
“Soldier and Toxin! Fire your attacks now!” Eden orders, to which the two fire poison arrows and needles. The poisoned weapons sink into the ogre’s neck, who is too injured to respond, and foam starts to come from its mouth as the poison infects him.
We might actually win this easily! I thought this would be harder. Maybe we are stronger than I thought. Eden thinks, but he would soon regret his thoughts as the wounded ogre wildly grabs Eden and tosses him across the arena, sending him crashing down to the wooden ground.
“Eden!” The group yells out as Eden is flung to the ground. Luckily, he is mostly fine, only a few cuts and bruises over his body. But that relieve is short-lived as they turn to the ogre, and they notice that the wounds once covering its body have mostly healed. The ogre is not bleeding, and all the deep wounds are not nearly as deep as before. Only some slash marks on the neck and legs remain on the beast, along with the beaten down damage towards the armour and club.
Fuck! This damn thing regenerates? We need to keep striking at it or else all the work we put in will be for naught. Eden concludes, rushing towards the ogre to strike. As Eden does this, the Old Man goes behind the ogre and proceeds to fire off some kicks differently compared to before, but these strikes do far less damage. Only really the armour is effected, which is breaking into pieces, with almost none of the armour still on the legs of the ogre. But the ogre, moving slowly due to the regeneration, goes to punch the Old Man, but he disappears before that can happen, as his location was falsified with the help of his astral projection. Soldier and Toxin fire off some more attacks, but Soldier runs out of arrows quickly and Toxin grows tired from the repeated mana use, taking them both functionally out of the fight.
“We almost got it guys! Keep on attacking and we can slay this mighty beast!” Eden yells out to everyone, hoping to reinvigorate their spirits and continue the onslaught of attacks. But they had forgotten one thing; while the legs of the ogre were still damaged, the arms had not been touched yet, and Tanker lied right in clubbing distance, forgotten by everyone, but no longer by the ogre. It happened in a flash, a mere moment in life, but that mere moment hit harder than any attack the ogre had used on any of us so far. Tanker tried to block the swing, he really did, but the shield had been far too damaged, especially when Eden launched off of it. The shield shatters, and so does Tanker, crushed under the sheer might of the ogre. Nothing else remains besides a bloody pile of flesh, and the grin of the foulest of beasts. As the bloody corpse lays there, the ogre slams its foot on it, as blood spatters across its foot, along with a little on Eden’s hands, though one may argue that blood was already there.
