Notice! User has reached a point of near death. Skill ‘Wounded Warrior’ has been activated! Strength has been increased, and some pain will be numbed.
Power surges through Eden’s broken body, as his skill, ‘Wounded Warrior’ got activated. This new-found power had allowed Eden to muster enough strength in order to start moving, although only by crawling, and he regained his ability to think with actual purpose. But the one thing this skill did not do rough of is numb the pain still coursing through his body.
Shit! This their even any pain numbing active! I may, fuck, be able to think, their is no way this is truly numbed? No, I cannot focus on that, I would be dead If this poison did not slow down bleeding, I need to break through this in order to be freed. But now that I think about it, it would be useful to know what kind of poison This, god damn it, this is. Eden realizes, as he goes to his inventory to examine some of the poisoned arrows in his inventory.
Poisoned decay arrow x3- (F+) 0.03 lb (13.61 g)
A poisoned arrow that is covered in Vladimir poison.
Notice! Due to the item ‘poisoned decay arrow’ being covered in another item, description of the item, ‘Vladimir poison’ shall be provided to the user.
Vladimir poison- (F) 0.01 lb (4.54 g)
(A poison that will slowly deal poison damage and decay the target’s body. This poison is most effective against organs and inflicts a great deal of pain, but the poison slows down bleeding. The poison does not work against those with G+ grade or higher endurance. If a healing or detoxing agent is used with this poison, the poison strengthens the power of the healing instead. This poison also increases poison resistance much faster compared to most poisons.)
Of course the poison had to be just one grade higher than what I can handle. Fuck! I think my liver almost fell out! I cannot wait any longer, something must be able to help me here. Eden realizes while crawling around, though he is not quite sure on what that thing may be. But his wondering has made him bump into the small farm he had made for the chick. Much to anyones surprise, the farm has already contains some crops grown enough to eat, such as some strawberries, tomatoes, and pumpkins, all of which are altered in some way from normal, as these seeds were born in a land that can never contain plant life. They had evolved quite a bit to handle most harmful chemicals, which Eden is quick to notice in one particular one.
Wait, there are pumpkins here! This might be the answer to save me! Eden realizes, knowing special information about said pumpkins as a farmer. The pumpkins that were mutated were used as a sudo medicine in Eden’s homeland, as they were biologically changed, along with all the other plants in his world. Now, most plants had been forced to learn how to detoxify most substances from the constant chemicals that poured over them after the world turned to a poisoned wasteland. Pumpkins, unlike most others, had evolved poison resistance, the most out of any fruit back in his homeland no less, much to Eden’s luck. He crawls over, still in pain, but he bares with it, and Eden reaches out to grab one of the pumpkins. However, he had taken too long, and his arm has rotted to the point that it does not work. This leaves him with no feasible way to save himself, even with the solution right in front of him, leaving Eden defeated, limp. The pain the coursed through his body still rung out all the same, but yet Eden no longer felt it, but instead the pain of knowing he could have saved himself, but did not.

Wished I had got that sooner, but it is far too late for poison resistance to matter. My body is dead in any way pardon my brain and other vital organs. Eden thinks defeatedly, knowing death is looming over him once more. But death has not yet grasped the neck of him, as little white wing pulls death off him, like an angel to a demon.
“Chirp! Chirp chirp!” Isaac rings out, as it pecks at the pumpkin. Isaac then uses his beak to grab some seeds. As he does this, Eden wishes he could tell Isaac to give him some to deal with the poison, but his throat has clogged up with so much blood that proper speaking has become impossible. However, Isaac seems to recognize that Eden is dieing, and that the seeds could help him. So, Isaac places the seeds inside of Eden’s fallen apart mouth, which was not that hard a task with how many holes there were in his mouth’s roof. Afterwords, Isaac then flaps its wings just enough to jump up on the remaining top half of his mouth to close it and allow the seeds to be chewed.
Notice! You have consumed the item ‘Pumpkin of vitality’ and have temporarily gained a massive increase in poison resistance and regeneration speed. Effect lasts for 3 minutes.

Notice...
As the seeds get smushed inside of Eden’s mouth, he receives an endless series of notifications about an increase in poison resistance, but the pain in his body would make anyone think otherwise. While the poison has stopped decaying and rotting his body, the pain from the seeds enhancing his regeneration for rebuilding his body, killing off the decayed unusable parts and replacing them with new ones. However, the pain of his flesh, stomach, and other organs being reformed but yet killed creates unfathomable torment brought upon the mad-like reconstruction of his body, feeling no different from bringing Frankenstein’s monster to life with how zombie like Eden had become. But when Eden’s throat gets mildly unclogged from being reformed, Eden starts to vomit an endless stream of cold blood. This had made Eden look more like a bloody puddle of bones than a human with how much he was vomiting, making even Eden himself surprised that he is still alive. Though all of this is incomparable to the pain festering in his gut. The sheer amount of rotting caused to his stomach caused its acid to spill all inside of his body, melting some of his veins and muscles in the process. Time seems to slow down from all the pain the Eden, feeling each and every bit and piece of him being destroyed and remade. If it was not for Eden’s solid mentality further evolved from the system, Eden would have gone insane. But after what feels like an eternity, Eden’s brain finally goes to rest from the pain, and he passes out from the blood loss, but not before receiving one last message, a rather confusing one at that.

What? What... had... just... hap-... Eden attempts to think, but is unable to form any proper ones from the blood loss.
*six hours later*
“*Yawn* Wait, what happened?” Eden questions where he then looks over his body, in which he realises that he has made a full recovery, though the dusty stone floors are still coated in his blood. There are also bits of green, mushy flesh surrounding him. When Eden notices the green skin, he recalls his memories on what had happened before he passed out from blood loss, and has a confused look on his face, seeming to not understand how the hell he lived.
“How did I survive that?” Eden wonders out loud. “Even with the pumpkins' good healing and detoxing effects, it should have lost at least a limb or two. Hell, with how bad it was, I thought I was a going to die.” After Eden says this, he then looks over to see what is around him, where he notices Isaac running around in the patch of crops I planted for him, eating everything his little body can handle. But after Isaac walks outside the small garden, he then notices that Eden has awoken, and Isaac sprints at him in joy, wings open.
“Chirp! Chirp!” Isaac goes, bringing over some pumpkin seeds and some kind of dusty coin he had found. But Eden holds out his hand to stop Isaac from running into him.
“No, Isaac, I have healed now, so I no longer require the seeds. However, I should probably keep the seeds just and case, and I will take the coin encase it proves helpful in rebuilding.” Eden tells Isaac, as he is now fully conscious. Once Eden reaches this state, he then goes to stand up, but when he does this, he is bombarded with system notifications.
Notice! You have gained 5 ‘Pumpkin seeds of vitality’ and a dusty coin.
Pumpkin Seed of Vitality x5- (G+)
(A magical seed that can grow the pumpkin of vitality. Upon consumption, this seed will make the user immune to poisons G grade or lower and increase their overall poison resistance and recovery speed from poison damage.)
Items will be stored into the inventory

Notice! Your poison resistance has increased.
Notice! Explanation of resistances shall be provided.
Resistances give bonuses to the user's defence when hit by the damage type inflicted upon the user. Ex: if you have 50% electricity resistance and are hit with an electric shock, your defensive abilities and base defence will be 50% stronger than what it should be.
Notice! Skill ‘Wounded Warrior’ has greatly increased in proficiency.
Notice! Special conditions have been met! Skill ‘Wounded Warrior’ has mutated.
Stolen novel; please report.
Notice! User has encountered a mutation for the first time! Would you like an explanation? Yes No
“Yes,” Eden says, quickly leading into another question, hoping to save him some trouble. “Can you just default to yes for explanations from now on, system?” Eden then asks, but to no avail as the system ignores his pleas.
Mutations are special effects that are added onto skills when very specific circumstances are met. These mutations are not attached to the normal level up progression of the skill but rather develop based upon how much they are used.
Now showing mutation of skill ‘Wounded Warrior
Wounded Warrior- (E+) Passive
(First effect:You have been wounded a good amount of times in your life, but it has paid off with your new-found strength from Pain. You get an okay increase in power and have some pain numbed when you are badly wounded. You will also have an increase in your pain tolerance when this skill is not active.
New! Second effect, Mutation: Your body has decayed to that of a zombie, but you still breathe all the same. Thus, you have learned to handle the curse of decay and poisons. You are immune to decaying and poisons below E grade, and you will gain bonus poison resistance depending on how damaged you are.(Resistance amount will scale with your base resistance to poison) You also cannot become the ‘zombie’ race or any adjacent variations.)
“Well would you look at that!” Eden says in joy. “I see what Loki meant by skills growing through ‘endangering thou’s life’ as he put it.” Eden concludes. But I would have never survived to tell the tale without the help of Isaac. Is he really just a chick? No animal should have such intelligence. Eden wonders, unsure if such a creature should be this smart. But due to Isaac saving him, he forgets his worries and decides to reward Isaac in some way.
“Chirp! Chirp chirp.” Isaac goes while staring at you. The chick then waddles over the boulder and starts to peck at it, making a minuscule crack in it, which was rather easy with the damage that the boulder had taken. Eden, picking up on what Isaac wants, decides to turn the boulder into a nest for the chick. Eden walks over to the boulder and equips his how. Once he reaches the large rock, he swings at the boulder to start to break it. But when he does, there is a hole in the boulder rather than a crack, as Eden sees a dark shadow inside rather than more stone.
“Seems the boulder was hollow. Then how dense is the stone made of? And how was this hoe able to break through it?” Eden asks himself, as he pries open the boulder enough to let him slither his way into it. He does not see much inside, just an emery stone sphere. Eden then push himself out, and then turns to the other side of the boulder, going to make a much smaller hole on the other side of the boulder for Isaac. Once he does so, Eden goes into his inventory, Crawls inside the boulder, and then Eden lays out some of the hay he gathered, turning it into a nest. He then uses some stone to hold the nest up while gluing it together with tar-covered feathers. Then, in order to protect the crops, He builds a large fence, about 4 ft (1.22 m) tall, around the area. This fence is made from the shards of stone he has collected, and then sticks them together with the tar-covered feathers. It is rather tedious work, taking hours upon hours of walking back and forth to the tar pit and the fence, let alone how hard it was to stack misshapen stones into a stable fence. To add on, Eden was not exactly the best at making fences, or really any structure, as his crafting skills are more focused on making tools such as a hoe. However, Eden’s efforts had not been in vain, as he gains a special skill, which was surprising to Eden.
Notice! User has met special requirements and will be rewarded with a special skill.
The user has obtained the special skill, ‘Patience’.
Patience- (F+) Passive
(You are a very patient person who can do a task repeatedly without going insane slightly longer compared to your average chum. You gain extremely minor resistance to mental attacks and mastery skills will grow slightly faster if they are lower level than this skill.)
You know, I thought the system would be a lot ruder compared to how it has been to me, at least from what Loki said. But I guess it is par for the course that Loki told a few lies in that long ass speech. Eden notions, as he finishes the last part of the fence. He then looks around, to admire the land he has cultivated for Isaac. Though the area is not nearly as nice as he had imaged. The fences are coated in a black ink, along with being full of cracks, and the crops have become overgrown, with vines covering almost the whole area making it look more like a jungle than a garden. Furthermore, the massive boulder sticks out like a sore thumb in the overwise rather flat area, pardon the fence, but at least it is well protected from attacks now that the only non chick sized doorway was covered by the wall. But contrary to Eden’s belief of this land's mediocrity, Isaac seemed to enjoy his new home.
“Chirp! Chirp!” Isaac goes, running around his garden and rock house, much like how a pet would in a new home.
“Haha. Well it seems you like the house now do you, Isaac.” Eden laughs out, patting Eden on the head. “Well as long as you like the place, I like this area too.” Eden then says, picking up Isaac for a light hug. But when Eden puts him down, a wave of sadness passes over him, the realization of having to leave Isaac here hits him like a punch to the face. He wishes he could bring Isaac with him, but is unsure if that is a wise idea.
Should I bring him along with me? It would be nice to have compony in my travels. No, it is best for the chick to stay here, where it is safe. Plus, what would have been the point of making this place if no one uses it? I have to leave him here, Eden thinks in mental pain. “Isaac, don’t forget about me, okay? Make sure to take care of yourself and don’t leave the pen unless you absolutely have to.” Eden tells Isaac, much like how a worried mother would for their child. Isaac seems to understand that Eden is sad, so he tabs hid talons on Eden’s foot, and then goes to the garden. Eden then walks away, unsure of when he will ever see Isaac again.
*two hours later*
“Why did they make it so hard to find an exit in this place!” Eden yells out in frustration. “Can I have at least some good on this day? Wait, no, I should not be talking like that, I am sure he would want me to be cheerful.” Eden believes, thinking of Isaac as he walks around, as he found a hallway out of the crawl space. However, this area is extremely dark, to the point that you cannot see more than a ft in front of you. This is proven as he suddenly trips on a rock, face planting straight into the wall in front of him. While this would normally been rather unlikely, it played to Eden favour, as when his face hits the wall, he goes right through it like a cloud of mist.
Notice! You have escaped the chicken labyrinth.
“A hidden wall. Really? On the first floor? Why the hell would you do this!?” Eden ragefully questions. But before he could start screaming, his body is covered in a foreign power, creating a calming wave of peace, cooling down his blazing fury.
“Well that is two hours I will never get back.” Eden exasperates. While he says this, he notices a stairway that leads back to the chest. And I am back where I started. Might as well try to open the chest. Eden thinks. But when he goes to open the chest, it is locked shut, like Eden expected. However, what Eden did not expect was the system notification that pops up.
Notice! User does not meet the requirements to open the chest.
Requirements- Must have a gambling job.
“OH FUCK YOU!!! What do you mean I have to have a gambling job to open!? What, am I only allowed to open chests if I spent all my money on loot boxes!?” Eden explosively screeches while looking up. “I hope you stub your toe every morning and that you will only have warm sides of the pillow to sleep on.” Eden proclaims the system. However, the system does not take kindly to Eden’s words, showing a shocking amount of human feelings.
Error! Eden has committed an unforgivable sin; insulting the system. Your sin shall be documented until you die, given you are blessed to such a fate.
The hell does that mean? Eden wonders, as he seems to not understand the system’s meaning. But, after some thought, he just chalks it up to random AI nonsense. Eden, however, was still kind of pissed he could not even open the damn chest. But anger is not going to solve anything, so be decides to suck it up and check out the third and final hallway, the one with the snake door, as it is not like there is anything else to do. He goes out of the chest hallway, carefully walking on the edges of the hole he fell through, and goes to the door hallway. As he walks up to the door he starts to examine every detail he can, assuming there is some kind of hint on how you get through. The snake is very detailed, with it even having the texturing right, feeling exactly like scales. But the coldness of the door did not let Eden be fooled that this was anything besides some kind of metal. Having nothing else to do, besides using the key of course Eden proceeds to swing his knife at it to test the door's strength, and upon the clash he recoils from the shockwave.
“Damn, this door seems harder than even tungsten.” Eden says, looking at his luckily not cracked knife. I would understand not breaking the door open, but to think not even a titanium blade could leave scratch on it. I guess I will have to use the key then. Eden thinks, realizes there is no better alterative. He then takes out the key he believes is meant for the door, and when it slides in he knows he was right.
Click, the sound the door makes when Eden turns the key. But when he lets go of the key, the snake's eyes glow bright yellow and the key starts to wiggle around like a tongue, acting like a real tongue instead of a key moulded like one. After a good minute a poisoned arrow is fired out of the snake’s mouth. But due to Eden’s last encounter he had expected this.
“Collect!” Eden screams out, as the arrow then glows and goes inside his inventory.
Notice! You have gained the item ‘Poisoned decay arrow’
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me, you bastard.” Eden replies to the arrow trap out of pride. After he does this, the eyes then glow green and the door is flung wide open, where Eden takes this and walks in. As Eden walks into the room, he sees a pile of golden coins and a much larger silver coin at the top of the pile, leaving Eden rather happy.
“Looks like today is my lucky day!” Eden yells out in joy, motioning towards the pile of coins.
Notice! User has gained 100 gold coins! Gold coins will be stored in inventory.
Notice! User has gained the item ‘The Snake and Crow’
The Snake and Crow- (F) 0.2 lb (90.72 g)
(A large silver coin with a snake tail on one side and a crow head on the other. This coin looks to have once had magic power filled inside of it, but the sigils have lost charge many centuries ago. Perhaps a skilled blacksmith could repair the coin and give back its magical properties.)
So I got an artifact. Not all that useful now but could be later. Eden thinks hopefully, putting the coin into his inventory. But is there really nothing else here? It feels like I should get something more than just some gold and an old coin. Maybe I should wait for something to happen? This would not be that bad of a time to test out the ‘Patience’ skill. Eden concludes, not realizing that the skill has already been used, so he motions to sit down to test the skill. He sits cross-legged on the hard ground, waiting for what feels like hours, because it was hours. Eden, however, is very used to waiting, from all the years he spent waiting for crops to grow and things to happen. But after what must have been an eternity, Eden hears a mechanical click in the ceiling, and a square hole is made in the middle of the ceiling, with a wooden bow and 3 arrows falling out of it. But much to Eden’s surprise none of those items are registered as an item. But he still hastily grabs the weapons and leaves the room, going to the last thing he can, the pyramid.
“Guess that leaves one last place to go to, the pyramid.” Eden says as he walks towards the pyramid, still playing the same tune as before, only the audio quality has fallen to that of a saloon radio, but no doubt that it is still as gloomy as ever.
But after a scrupulous overview of the thing, he notices a coin slot that he compares to the size of the golden coins he had gained and notices that the slot is much bigger compared to those coins.
Do I need a different coin? Maybe it wants the other ones I have? Eden believes, pulling out the dusty and silver coin. As he compares the coins he sees that they are the same size and would fit perfectly with the coin slot.
Okay, so I should put the old, fancy looking coin in first, but do I want to risk it? Eden wonders, but then has a fantastic idea. He places the fancy coin inside the pyramid, and the disk shoots out like a bullet and falls to the ground. Meanwhile, the pyramid glows brightly and a hand scanner is put on the front side of the object. Next to the pyramid, a text box is made which is magnified through a system notification.
Notice! The special coin has been placed inside the pyramid. All future traps shall be disabled.
1.
2.
3.
Success!
All the traps have been disabled.
That is a very nice bonus. Eden thinks, as he goes to grab the disk and stores it in his inventory. But he then enacts his great plan. He yells out “Collect!”, while facing the pyramid. As he says this, the fancy coin flies out of the coin slot and into his hand.
Nice! It worked! Eden celebrates, glad his plan had worked to a tea. But it would seem he had celebrated too early, as the pyramid’s glow had stopped and the hand print had disappeared. To think there would be a fail save for this. But I am not giving up this coin that easily. Eden decrees. He grabs out the dusty coin and puts it into the pyramid, reactivating the device but not giving off the system message of traps being disabled, but instead a much more helpful one.
Notice! User ‘Eden’ has tricked a trap of the system.
User Eden’s intelligence has been increased.
“You say that, but I do not feel all too much smarter than before, nor have I ever felt these so-called stat increases.” Eden claims to the system, but lets it go as he does not really care about the system’s rambles any more. But something that he does care about is that after Eden collects the fancy coin back, he realizes that the hand print had stayed this time. He assumes that the fail-safe only worked once, or some other thing happened, so he decides to place his hand on the hand print, where he is covered in a blinding light, and then everything fades to black.
