Arc 1 chapter 6: POV from the hand who takes the broken boy

My little sister and I decided to go to the park today. Thanks to her determination, she demands that I go with her to the park.

And also because my older sister wished for me to accompany her to make sure she didn't burn the whole park again

But even if my little sister didn't ask me to, I would have gone to the park anyway

"Syed, could you please come with me to judge my spell again? Pleaseeee~"

"Hey now, don't you worry, I also want to go to the park today"

"Yes! " She says excitedly "But can you be a little bit less blunt and honest this time? "

I just look at her and chuckle "No promise"

She looks at me with her cute pout while crossing her arms "Aren't you supposed to be kind enough? You are the chosen one, aren't you? "

"Doesn't mean I should lie tho" I told her, while smiling softly "In fact, the reason I give you those harsh comments is because I'm your number 1 supporter, you will be grateful to me when you become a great mage one day"

She looks at me with a resigned look and sighs, "Fine. . ."

After telling our parents that we will be back before dinner, I walk beside her to the park. That's when I met my friend for the first time.

  Again.

The boy who's now broken than ever.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

That's not what I remembered of him

Even so, he's still my first friend I ever had

"Hey Suraya, could you wait for me? Just for a second?"

  ". . . Where are you going? "

". . . Bringing my friend over. You will be judged by two people soon enough. "

"A comment from you is harsh enough and now you bring another one?! "

"Haha, just wait here ok? "

I then approached the kid, who's one year younger than me, whose stare is colder than ice.

If I approached him right now, he surely would push me away

And even knowing that, I still wanted to help.

  Because he helped me first

  ". . . You look hurt"

That's when he looks at me, really looks at me with that cold look.

  ". . . Leave me alone. "

If I were another kid, I probably would have cursed him before running away from him while crying from how cold he is

But I knew he didn't want to hurt my feelings, just wanted to be left alone.

That's why instead of running away, I sat down beside him. Just like the very first time I met him.

And this time, I had better words to calm him.

". . . I don't know what kind of pain you're in right now, but I will be glad to help"

"Help with what? It's not like you can fix it"

He's right, I can't fix him right away, but that doesn't mean I can't learned how

"I know, but it doesn't mean I should have just let it keep being broken, right? If I can't fix it right now, I'll learn how to fix it, piece by piece"

He looks at me, really looks at me. With his baffled expression as if he's surprised by my words

I knew what he was thinking, he must have thought How do you know me like we were friends for ages?

I just look at his face calmly with my soft smile. Oh buddy, we are. If only you knew.

But I can't be honest now

Ironic isn't it? I told my little sister that I wouldn't lie, but I couldn't even tell her about me

  . . .

No, whatever about me isn't important right now

I have a friend who needs someone to understand him at this moment

". . . What benefit you will get to try fix me anyway? " He asked me coldly

  Benefit?

Seriously, this dumbass really asked me that??

You really thought that everything has a price, didn't you?

Well, sorry that I had to break your belief then

"Do friends need to know each other to become friends? I may look naive but it doesn't mean I'm dumb. I understand you, so that makes you my friend. "

He then looked at me with that dumbfounded look as if he finally knew that I understood him

As if he couldn't believe that a person like me who's dumb enough to even want to fix him so badly, exists

He really never changes, did he? Always thought that pure kindness never existed.

And that's why every time I met him, I broke his belief into pieces

And I will do it again, every time

Because I know he would do the same if our positions switched

I get up slowly before offering him a hand. . . And a playful offer

"Alright, get up buddy, me and my lil sis could use extra play buddy. . . And another judge, haha"

He stared at my hand for a while before slowly getting up

I could tell from his eyes that he was doubting himself for a second before taking my hand.

  ". . . Name's Dani. You? "

"Call me Syed, buddy. Nice to finally become friends with you. "

It's nice to become your friend again.
