Arc 1 Chapter 4: Little good times

"Ha. . . Nothing feels better than watching TV with ramen"

I said calmly to myself while watching the news about how Farah got praise for stopping the robbery, which increases her popularity.

"Finally, back to normal NPC life. . . "

I leaned my head on the couch calmly, before my brain decided to do a little flashback

"The fuck you mean why? You're our friend, so we always worry about you! "

"Yeah! And you also help us to release our full potential right? So we are always indebted to you for it."

". . . What a bunch of dorks" I said to myself softly after having a flashback about that in my own deadpan tone

  ". . . Guess my life isn't that bad after all. . . "

The news then changed into an interview with 'The prodigy mage' who had just created a spell to counter the time stop spell

"So now we are with Miss Suraya, one of the geniuses from one of our arcane universities in this country"

She didn't do much as she just smiled beautifully like Sakura flowers whose petals bloom once a year while waving her hand

"So, Miss Suraya, how can this high spell even be invented and cast?"

"Well, for starters, I account on time relativity theories itself. . . "

Huff. . . Genius as ever, at least she still calls me on the phone at the most inconvenient time

Well, there she is, another genius childhood friend I had. If we follow by birth date, she should be at least 2 months younger than me

I still remember when we were little I was the one who approached her since she's socially awkward.

She's the smartest between us, but sometimes I help her be creative with spells. Although most of the time our moments were. . .

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

The weather that day was nice; it should have been a day when I could just sleep and try to bury those bad memories in my head.

". . . Huff, let me just sleep for a while. . . I need some energy to visit my parents' grave later. . . " I said softly before my eyes fluttered rapidly

  Knock knock

That's when my eyes jolted open before I lifted my head and looked over at the door

Huh. . . Only two times? Guess it just rando-

  "Hey Dani"

That's when I instantly turned my head to the other side of the bed and saw her looking over me with her soft smile

"Judge my spell, please? " She tilted her head while still smiling, like illegally entering my house was normal

". . . Suraya, I told you not to just get into my house without permission, right? "

"Eh? But I did knock, didn't I? " She said softly while her expression was slightly surprised

She looked like the information of breaking into someone's house is illegal is new to her

"You seriously didn't know that this should have been illegal? "

  "I-. . . Erm. . . I thought I just needed to knock on the door. . ."

". . . Huff, then you just teleport yourself into my house? "

  "Yeah. . . Erm, sorry if I-"

"It's fine, you're a socially awkward person, of course you don't know anything about social skills "

  "H-Hey, that's harsh! "

"Just don't break into anyone's house like this"

  ". . . Sorry"

I looked at her calmly, before trying to cheer her up

". . . So, what kind of spell do you want me to judge this time? "

Her face instantly lit up before she spoke to me in a cheerful tone

"Ah! I actually want you to judge this spell. . ."

And for the next few hours, she would cast various spells that she either improvised or made on her own, not enough to destroy my house, just for performance

I looked at her who was currently improvising her gravity magic, before she looked back at my eyes and asked softly

"Dani, is there something you want to ask? "

  ". . . How did you know? "

"Uhh, we've been friends for almost 3 months now, of course I notice your intent easily "

". . . So you can sense my intention but can't even say 'anyone home? ' before breaking in? "

"Dani! Can we get that over with please?!"

". . . Hey, Suraya, how about you invent a spell to keep both sides of the pillow hot? "

She looked at me like I just said that there's a bomb in this house

". . . Where did you get these ideas from, Dani? " She asked me dumbfounded about my idea

"In dreams, some of it also comes when I take a shit at the toilet. "

"Hah?! Dani, I told you not to take your ideas from the toilet, right?! That's where most of the unhinged idea comes from"

"Nah, it's just creativity. . . Weird creativity"

. . . Heh, good times. Some of the other times she also practiced her spells at the park with me being the judge as usual when we were kids

"How about that Dani, does it look great to you?! " she said as she looked at me like she expected I would give her a trophy

  ". . . Meh"

"What did you mean meh?! I just cast a fire tornado, not just a small tornado, a size equal to an F5 tornado!! "

"Unless you can cast two of those while eating a snack, I'm giving you 6.9 out of 10"

  ". . . I swear you're the second-worst judge after my older brother, Syed"

  ". . . Is that a compliment or. . .? "

  "Dani. . .! "

Yeah. . . Great childhood memories, and don't get me started with Syed as well. Oh well, I probably have extra monologues and flashbacks about him later

"Well, we are so honored to have you in our interview. Is there anything you want to say to the cameras before we end? "

She then started staring at those cameras pointed at her before she did her beautiful smile like she was looking directly at me and her brother

"Well, first off, to my brother Syed, come back to earth quicker, please, Mom says dinner's ready. . ."

Huh, Syed is at space again? Guess that's normal now

". . . And I want to thank my childhood friend, Dani, for being supportive when we were kids, wherever he is, I hope he's doing fine by now. . . "

  . . . Well, I'm surprised she says such a nice thing-

". . . Also, Dani, stop giving me suggestions to make spells so you can die in sleep, I won't make that"

  I take it back, she's a dork.

  . . .

Oh well, dorks like her are what keep me alive anyway
