December 13th, 1918

Out of our entire journey, today was perhaps the best day ever. We were travelling as usual and it was getting quite close to night. I had been trying my best all day to keep Lawrence awake. He was practically fallen asleep on my shoulder and I was having to haul him with the medicine. Then, we saw several lights in the distance we didn't cause. We had no clue what they were from, so we slowly approached. It was a small walled city with lots of lights inside. We walked along the edge of the walls until we found a gate. There were at least three people in front of the gate. Henry tried to communicate with them, to which they shot him in the arm. I rushed over to him and treated him as best I could. Yuri managed to talk with them while I was doing this. Some people took Henry and treated him soon after. We were led to a room to sleep in. It is rather large and it is warm here, so I can't complain. Yuri says they're peaceful, despite the misunderstanding. They didn't mean to shoot one of us. They thought that they were raiding the city. This is what they said and all we can do is trust him now.
