Thank God almighty. Today was simply the light of my current life. Roy's frostbite cleared up in the early morning hours. That was just one win for me, but a win nonetheless. Yuri, Lawrence, and the hunters came back from their journey around midday. The news was the same as yesterday. No big animals for hunting. We'd surely starve if we spent much more than a week here. Despite this, they had managed to get five smaller animals that blended in with the snow all around us. I did not fret because of this. They skinned them and we ate lunch well.
However, soon after this, I saw Yuri and Angelo salvaging the fur on the animals that they had just skinned. I inquired as to why they were doing this. We had coats and gloves already. They told me that I should put the fur around my hand, to which I did. It was one of the warmest feelings I have ever experienced. I suppose I agree with them now. We are keeping the fur of the animals we kill to combat the Russian winter.

We told the boys this and they seemed to agree. Another win for us. The days ahead still look gloomy, but I am certain we can overcome them. Especially with this fur that we will now collect. We will have much more when we start finding bigger animals. We all sat beside the fire for the rest of the day. I talked to Angelo and Lawrence as usual. A sad gleam is no longer cast on our unit. Maybe we will survive this test of strength.
