I was indeed correct. In our tired carelessness, the firewood was misplaced. It would have been alright if it stayed at that. Unfortunately, things don't pan out all the time. The problem is that we cannot find it. We spent all morning looking. Eventually, Yuri told us to just start collecting it. We do not have the time to waste. It would be worthless. We began to gather firewood. This is all we have done all day. It is very boring. We made the hunters, Angelo, and Georges stay back. They were the only ones who did not gather the firewood.

It was a bleak day. I am afraid that it is all our days will be until we get out of Russia. Nothing good has happened for the past few days. I cannot even think to myself what a good day here would be like anymore. We are too cold and too afraid. I am now worried more and more for hypothermia in the boys. I am no doctor, but I will try my best to help them. I told the boys that if they suddenly got very hot, come to me. I will do my very best to help them. I made sure that they all knew that it is certainly not a good idea to take any clothes off when they feel this. They are not hot. Instead, they are very, very cold. This is all I have done today. In this very, very bleak day.
