Before we get into the Regressors, let me first explain how time travel actually works in this world.
Time travel exists in three distinct forms here, and all three lie completely beyond mortal reach. No one in the world can wield them directly. In the higher realms, however, a few beings possess these powers. They can grant access to the lowest tier, but the other two are far beyond what they would ever share or what anyone can just handle.
Isolated: This is a small-scale form of time manipulation. It allows someone to revert objects, speed them up, or slow them down. A person’s actions or objects can be rewound or accelerated. However, anything done using this type has no effect on the world as a whole. It cannot influence primal concepts like death, nor can it affect anyone who stands high on the divine hierarchy.
Totality: This is a far greater power, allowing the entire world to be reverted or advanced in time on any scale the user chooses. It can technically affect primal concepts, but not by rewriting them, but rather by forcing everything backward or forward or just pausing as whole. No new timelines are created by this method, and no one remembers the first timeline once it is overwritten. It is absolute time manipulation. Only three beings in existence have ever wielded it. This is the very power that was used during the rise of the violet king.
Chaotic: As its name suggests, this form brings only chaos. Anything can happen when it manifests. No one can wield it, for it is controlled by a single unknown entity. In this universe, timelines are not created by mere choices. They are born from rare cataclysmic moments called Fracture Points bursts of overwhelming, concentrated momentum energy so intense they tear open the fabric of space-time. These ruptures split reality, creating one timeline where the rupture occurred and another where it did not. The world where the rupture happens either merges with a greater world or fuses with another entirely. Anything can happen at that point. The higher gods, however, only care or pay attention to the timelines where rupture did not happen.

Now, let’s talk about the Regressors.
There are nine of them. They are the only individuals who remember the first timeline. Normally, they should not have been able to remember anything at all, but they do, thanks to the wish of someone unknown.
If you have read the prologue, you probably already know or at least guessed who some of them are. If you would like to preserve the mystery, you may want to stop reading here. I will not reveal all nine, only the ones whose identities are already obvious.
Let’s go through them in the order of their appearance.
1) Cedric the Chosen Hero: He was killed by the Violet King along with his dearest one, slaughtered before his eyes. He has vowed to never let that happen again. For this, he is willing to do anything to kill Lucien Sinclair. Cedric knows that his current self might not be strong enough yet, but he is working relentlessly to change that. He is correcting his past mistakes, training harder than ever, and reshaping events he remembers from the first timeline to gain any advantage he can. More than anything, he is determined to protect those he could not save before.
2) Irene, The princess of the empire: She witnessed her entire family being slaughtered before her eyes. She carries an immense fear of Lucien, yet her desire for revenge burns even stronger. She is determined to prevent him from ever becoming the Violet King again. Irene is going to great lengths to make sure that never happens. She is pivotal to the plot, using her knowledge of the first timeline to gain both political power and personal strength. Like Cedric, she is playing the game more carefully now that she remembers what happened before.
3) Saint Mira: More about her will be revealed in future chapters.
4) the daughter of the Northern Duke, Amelia: More about her will also come in future chapters.
5) Edwin the Demon Prince: His story will be explored in later chapters.
6) The Head of the magic association
7) The elf queen
8) ???
9) ???
