12 Suit and Tie

“So, now that you have told me all of this, what now?”

  Reiji asked.

“I'll get you that suit and tie. Then, I'll show you where you'll live.”

Lord Fujioka answered and stood up, walking over to the door.

“Please, stay here for a moment. I will get a tailor to get your measurements.”

Lord Fujioka leaves the office, leaving Reiji alone.

With nothing to do, Reiji flips to the end of the book.

He gets to the last page where he finds a peculiar text.

There will be a single person to stand up to such an event. I call him The Savior. I do not know any more from my visions. Even if this person is real then I still have no hope for our future. No one can fight what I have seen.

Reiji looks up from the book, staring out the window for a moment, thinking.

He looks back down and reads the last line of the text.

But it doesn't matter, I will be dead soon. I am sorry for all of those who have to go through this.

  “...Sorry my ass.”

Reiji mutters to himself and closes the book, throwing it back onto the table.

He leans back in his chair and lets out a sigh, staring out the window once again.

“...I just hope you're not lying, old man.”

After waiting for some time he gets bored, he stands up, wanting to look through the books Lord Fujioka has.

Just as he stood up Lord Fujika entered the office with a young man that was dressed in a fine suit and a tape measure around the back of his neck.

Lord Fujioka gestured at Reiji and the tailor got to work, taking all of the necessary measurements.

The tailor left and came back with a suit that approximately matched his measurements.

“It should fit you pretty well but it'll take some time to get the suit tailored specifically to you.”

Reiji looked at the suit as it laid on Lord Fujioka's table.

“And do I change in front of you two or what?”

“...Well, let's go to your living quarters so you can get dressed.”

Lord Fujioka answered Reiji, grabbing a key from the drawer in his table.

The three of them left the office and moved through the mansion, reaching the living quarters where the general resided.

“Wait, I have her as my neighbor? And she won't strangle me when I'm asleep, right?”

  Reiji asked.

Lord Fujioka answered with a laugh and pulled out a key. It was probably the same key he took from the office.

He unlocked the door and pushed it open. The tailor bowed and moved into the room, Reiji following behind him.

The room had a bathroom, balcony, and bedroom with two beds and a closet.

Reiji went into the bathroom and came out a short while later.

He put everything on correctly except the tie, he also didn't have the suit buttoned up.

The tailor immediately walked over, tied his tie and buttoned up the suit.

  “Stay there for a moment.”

The tailor said and walked backwards.

He then stopped and had a good look at Reiji.

“Well, we need to find him new shoes because he is currently in his socks.”

The tailor said to Lord Fujioka and turned back to Reiji.

“I must thank you for not wearing those dirty shoes. The pants would've been dirty.”

  “What is his shoe size?”

  Asked Lord Fujioka.

  “About 42.”

“Wait here for a moment. I think I have a spare.”

Said Lord Fujioka as he rushed out of the room, leaving Reiji and the Tailor alone.

  “What’s he like?”

  Asked Reiji.

“He is quite the special nobleman.”

  Answered the Tailor.

  “I can only imagine.”

After a moment Lord Fujioka walked back in with three pairs of shoes.

“One pair is a 43 and the other two are 42.”

“Excellent. A slightly larger shoe size is always good.”

  Said the Tailor.

Reiji took a pair, sat down and put them on.

The tailor pressed his thumbs against the tip of the shoes, getting a feel for how much free space there is.

  “Please, walk around the room.”

Reiji walked around the room and sat back down onto the bed.

  “How do they feel?”

  Asked the Tailor.

  “They feel fine.”

  Reiji answered

  “Let's try the other two.”

After repeating the same thing two more times they decided on which pair was best.

After Reiji put the chosen pair on, Lord Fujioka spoke.

“Let's go into the city and buy you newer shoes. I'll show you around while we do that.”

“And I shall prepare the suit.”

Said the Tailor before he left.

Reiji and Lord Fujioka left the mansion with two guards in a carriage and traveled down a dirt road to the city.

When they arrived, Reiji got a good look at the city.

There was an annoying odor in the air. Half of the people looked malnourished.

The clothes people wore weren't exactly clean but they also weren't covered in mud.

Reiji leaned back against his seat, looking at Lord Fujioka.

“This is why the mountains are better for people like me.”

Reiji Kurozuma said to the lord.

“Yes, I imagined you'd say that.”

Once they arrived in front of a shop that sold boots, the carriage stopped.

The guards, who were walking beside the carriage, opened one of the doors.

Lord Fujioka stepped out first, followed by Reiji.

The guards followed them into the store as they entered.

Both of them looked for shoes his size and a reasonable price.

Lord Fujioka was rich, yes, but he didn't like spending too much money.

After they found a good looking pair of boots Reiji put them on.

After the evaluation Lord Fujioka bought the shoes and they went back into the carriage.

Reiji switched to the new pair of shoes inside of the carriage, placing the old pair under his seat.

Lord Fujioka signaled for the carriage to move forward and they started moving through the city streets.

  “So much filth.”

  Reiji commented.

“Yes, cities aren't known for being pretty.”

  Lord Fujioka agreed.

“Well, villages aren't either. At least the forests smell nice.”

  Said Reiji.
