Chap 21 - PB Cheetah Encounter

One night, long after Yumi had fallen asleep beside the faint crackle of the campfire, Kaizo found himself restless. His body had energy to burn — as his body felt an overwhelming sense of adventure.

Kaizo (quietly, glancing at Infinity): “You up?”

Infinity (stretching, voice low): “Always. You’re not the only one who can’t sleep.”

Kaizo (thinking): “Well, isn’t that because you sleep all fucking day?”

They slipped through the forest together, the moonlight spilling through the gaps in the canopy.

The deeper they went, the quieter everything became — until a soft growl broke the stillness.

Ahead, in a small clearing, a massive feline form stood over a kill — sleek, striped gold with veins of bioluminescence along its body. Three cubs fed beside it.

  Kaizo (whispering): “Is that a….”

Infinity (narrowing eyes, ears twitching): “PrimeBeast Cheetah… Possibly the second fastest moving creature on this earth, but definitely the fastest on the ground. Evolved, it’s smarter, stronger and has better awareness-”

The PB cheetah’s head turned sharply toward them — eyes glowing a deep amber. Kaizo instinctively tensed, but Infinity stepped forward, tail swaying with unbothered confidence.

Kaizo (under his breath): “What are y-”

Infinity (in feline language): “Relax, we are just passing through and mean no harm.”

The cheetah’s growl softened. Its cubs looked up briefly, then continued eating. The two predators began a low, rumbling exchange of sounds — part growl, part hum, part vibration Kaizo couldn’t decipher.

Kaizo (watching carefully): “Well, you see something new everyday.”

Infinity (grinning mid-conversation): “Mhm. We’re bonding.”

Kaizo: “Yeah, sure. You look like you’re telling him something quite interesting.”

Infinity’s grin widened. He looked over his shoulder.

Infinity (in perfect mischief): “I told her you wanted to race.”

  Kaizo (distraught): “…You what?!”

Infinity (shrugging): “Come on, she looked bored.”

The cheetah crouched low, eyes sharp, tail flicking — accepting the challenge.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Kaizo exhaled slowly, then cracked his neck, a faint grin forming on his face.

Kaizo: “Fine. I hope my ankles survive.”

The forest blurred into streaks of color.

Kaizo activated his Speed Set — DNA strands lighting up inside his body like a living engine.

Cheetah. Peregrine Falcon. Sailfish. His blood thrummed with motion, zipping throughout his body.

He and the PrimeBeast launched at the same instant — the earth beneath them cracking from sheer acceleration.

  Leaves exploded into the air.

  Branches bent from the shockwave.

For the first few seconds, they were neck and neck — two streaks tearing through the forest itself.

But then Kaizo leaned forward, body low, muscles coiling with trained precision.

  Faster.

He almost broke through the sound barrier effortlessly, his aura dragging light itself in a ribbon behind him. The PB cheetah roared, trying to close the gap — but Kaizo was gone, vanishing into the distance and reappearing hundreds of meters ahead, as he tripped and tumbled from the full force of his acceleration.

By the time he stopped, the air still vibrated.

Infinity (floating up beside him, ears flattened from the pressure): “Alright, you win, Speed Demon.”

  He looked back, smirking.

Infinity: “She said she let you win because she was surprised at your speed capability.”

Kaizo (grinning, hands on his hips): “Tell her I said thank you.”

When the cheetah caught up, panting lightly, Kaizo approached slowly. She crouched, running a hand through its sleek fur. The texture was different — denser, cooler, flexible in a way that almost mimicked muscle memory.

Kaizo (murmuring): “Incredible fiber alignment… tendon elasticity like coiled silk. Evolution really is no joke.”

The cheetah purred, brushing its head against his hand before returning to its cubs.

Infinity (tail flicking smugly): “You’re analyzing again, huh?”

  Kaizo (grinning faintly): “Always.”

Later that night, as his body rested, Kaizo’s mind shifted into the Infinity Realm — the black, endless space where his consciousness trained beyond physical limits.

In that void, he recreated the cheetah’s physique — its gait, its tendons, the rhythm of its sprint — and began building micro-adjustments for himself.

He stretched and rewired muscle patterns, creating new growth models that mirrored the PrimeBeast’s balance between flexibility and explosive power.

Kaizo (to himself): “Don’t overdo it… balance between tension and freedom. If I push too far, I’ll tear something again. However, if I utilize this correctly, I should be able to use the Speed Set more often at full potential.”

He smiled faintly, imagining the projection of his body moving smoother and more flexible. He would become faster than ever before.

Kaizo (quietly): “Thanks, ya crazy cat. You’re the key to my next step.”

By dawn, the Forest of Time stirred awake again — unaware that one of its predators had shared secrets with the only human fast enough to outrun it.

And as Yumi trained nearby, sharpening her Meikai under the morning light, Kaizo felt his own evolution beginning — subtle, but unstoppable.
