Season 2 – Chapter 2: Invisible Jealousy
The sun still illuminated the mountain paths leading toward Fert, but its rays could not ease the quiet tension growing between the three of them. Yuki walked beside Akira, listening to every movement he made, every sigh, every way he turned toward Aria. Her heart felt tight, and her thoughts spun restlessly: “Why is he so careful with her… while with me… everything feels so normal?”
She glanced at Aria walking between them and noticed small signs of trust—the girl had relaxed a little, accepted the food Akira offered her, and had even smiled. Yuki felt her heart twist. Jealousy began to burn in her chest, not loudly, but enough to constantly remind her that she needed to act. “I can’t… I can’t let him think that only she matters… I have to stay close to him…”
As they moved through the dense forest, branches rustled beneath their feet, while crickets and small birds created a natural symphony that contrasted with Yuki’s inner turmoil. She tried to focus on the scenery, but her eyes kept searching for Akira and every small gesture he directed toward Aria. Her hands tightened slightly around her backpack, and each time Akira looked at Aria, her thoughts became louder and more uncertain.
“Hey, are you alright?” Yuki asked him, trying not to show her true concern. Her voice trembled slightly as her eyes attempted to hide her sadness.
Akira looked up and smiled, though part of his attention was still directed toward Aria. “Yeah, everything’s fine. I’m just making sure Aria doesn’t slip or get hurt,” he said quietly as he stepped closer to help her across a stone.
Yuki felt her heart jump. His words were sincere and caring toward Aria, but in her mind they sounded like confirmation that she mattered less. “I can’t… I have to do something…” the thought echoed as she slightly quickened her pace beside him, trying to catch his attention, to make him smile, to be beside him instead of Aria.
Their journey continued through the forest, where the trees formed a web of shadows and sunlight filtered through the leaves in golden-green beams. Every step became an opportunity for Yuki to draw Akira’s attention—sometimes she would accidentally bump into him, smile while looking at him, or comment on small details of the surroundings in search of his reaction.

Aria noticed the tension but did not fully understand Yuki’s feelings yet. Her hands stayed close to her bag, and her gaze occasionally turned toward Akira, trying to feel stability and safety. Her trust in him was slowly growing, though it was still incomplete.
Yuki thought quietly to herself, “If I don’t do something, he might think I don’t care… but what if I interfere too much?” Her heart beat faster as she followed every movement Akira made. Her attention was both care and jealousy at once, creating an inner tension that didn’t fade even when the sun shone warmly or the forest echoed with gentle sounds.
Evening found them on a small hill where they stopped to rest. Akira sat down and carefully checked their food supplies, while Aria stood nearby, still cautious. Yuki sat a little farther away, trying to hide the emotions swirling in her chest. Occasionally she would glance at Akira, and every smile or gesture he directed toward Aria made her heart tremble with feelings she still could not express.
After they ate and rested, they continued their journey through forests and open fields. Yuki constantly tried to draw Akira’s attention, while Aria—still partly cautious—slowly began to smile and notice the small gestures of care he showed her. The tension between the three hearts grew slowly, invisibly, yet continuously, as their steps toward Fert became both a physical and emotional path—preparing them for future challenges and the first romantic dynamic that would begin to develop between them.
At night, when they set up a small camp beside a stream, Yuki sat by the fire, watching Akira help Aria settle comfortably. Her hands were clenched, and her heart felt heavy with jealousy, yet also with tenderness. “I have to show him… that I love him… but I’m still not ready…” The thought reflected the balance between fear and courage as the wind rustled through the leaves and the moon cast soft shadows across their faces.
Every minute of the journey became a lesson for all of them—how to trust, how to care, and how to face the complicated emotions that grow slowly and quietly, yet relentlessly. Yuki felt jealousy and tenderness coexisting within her, while Akira, still focused on the safety of all three of them, slowly learned how to balance between the two girls and unknowingly prepared the ground for future events that would shape their bond.
