Season 1 – Chapter 11: First Glimpse of Vord
The city of Vord rose before them in the golden morning light, its tall stone walls and massive towers casting long shadows over the dusty streets. For Akira and Yuki, walking slowly through the main gate, the city was both fascinating and intimidating. The sounds of street life – the shouts of merchants, the clatter of horses, and the bustle of stalls – filled the air, while the smells of food and dust mingled in the thick atmosphere. Yet Akira was tense, sensing that every step could reveal a new danger, while Yuki stayed close, holding his hand and following his gaze.
As they passed through the square, a crowd drew their attention. On one of the stalls stood a young girl, bound in chains and visibly distressed, while merchants and onlookers argued over what Akira and Yuki quickly realized was an auction. Yuki squeezed Akira’s hand and whispered, “Look…” Her eyes were wide, and her voice trembled with worry and fear.
Akira held his breath. His gaze fixed on the girl, knowing nothing about her – no name, no story – yet feeling the despair and fear emanating from her. At that moment, though he had not planned it, Akira felt his power activate – a fragment of her thoughts pierced his mind.
"No… I don’t want to be sold… please, someone save me…"
His heart leapt. The thought was pure, desperate, and sincere. Yuki noticed his sudden stillness and asked softly, “What is it…?” Akira could not answer immediately. His eyes remained on the girl, and the thought he had read was enough to awaken his instinct: she was in danger and he had to save her immediately.

“We have to get her out of here,” he said quietly, and Yuki nodded. Their eyes met, and both understood what had to be done.
The crowd remained unaware of the danger, and the guards still stood carelessly, confident that they controlled the situation. But Akira had already moved forward. His speed and precision far exceeded what the guards expected. The first guard fell before he could react, and the others were too slow to surround him.
Yuki stood to the side, but her eyes could not hide her awe and fear as she watched him fight. “He’s so strong… but I have to be ready to help him…” she thought, observing his progress and planning how to intervene if necessary.
The girl, still frightened and confused, watched as the strange force overwhelmed the guards, one by one. She did not understand what was happening, but inside she felt a quiet sense of safety, as if someone was looking out for her. Her thoughts were still panicked, but now a glimmer of hope existed.
When the last guards fell, Akira approached and slowly lowered his sword, looking at the girl with a mixture of determination and care. Yuki gently took the girl’s hand, offering quiet comfort as the three of them fled through the side streets. No one spoke a word, but in the silence, a complete understanding existed – the first encounter, the first contact, and the first bond forged through courage and resolve had been made.
Every step through the narrow streets of Vord was filled with tension, but also with the first subtle feelings of connection. The girl was afraid, but she was no longer alone; Akira and Yuki were with her, and their decision to protect her had set the beginning of their shared path, where challenges and dangers would only further strengthen their bond and trust.
