“From the pits of hell itself! I, Ignatius, hereby invoke the flames from thy! From the one that resides in hell! The self-proclaimed Devil!”
Magic noises! Fire noises!
I have my left hand extended towards the rampage Shadows and with my palm facing them, a magic circle is formed, one that is bigger than my torso. This magic circle is red of course, indicating that I will be using a Pyro spell, not only that, the flames that appear from it, it basically hits the nail head on, cementing said idea into those that are fortunate enough to witness what is about to be unleashed. But unfortunate enough to those that are about to become nothing more than ashes because of it. I didn’t mention but, the fire arrows from the previous spell Ignitros, they have reached the 2000 degrees realm, just a little bit more than that to be even more precise. However, the ones that are about to come out of this magic circle will surpass that.
“Consume everything that is foolish enough to stand in my way! Turn to ashes and perish with it! Ignaters!”
Fwoosh! Fire noises
Mere moments later a wave of flames comes out from the magic circle, reaching the poor Shadows in a matter of a fraction of a second and mind you, they were easily above 20 meters from me. They didn’t have any time to react to it and consequently dodge it as the wave was simply too fast for their “brains” to understand the imminent death that was speeding up towards them. I actually don’t know if they have brains but, that matters not for now. The wave of flames that comes out from the magic circle starts as big as the magic circle itself, but just a few centimetres past the magic circle, its size changes drastically, increasing by 35% in less than a fraction of second after being expelled from the magic circle. Not only that, those flames have temperatures that go past 2000 degrees, being 2150 degrees to be extremely precise. Another A+ rank magic spell, not stronger than the previous one but also not weaker, just different spells for different situations. I didn’t mention before but, the flames from the Ignatius family are coloured in a golden like colour, one that is easily spotted and seen even from afar. I have no clue why they are like this but, there is a theory that Ignatius modified the magic spells to have that golden colour, one that resembles the colour of his eyes. Moving on, those four Shadows are nothing more than a distant memory as nothing was left of them, as those flames consumed them in less than a second and anything that they might have left behind to their descendants. However, I’m not done yet as with a quick and simple usage of Magic Sense skill I’m able to pinpoint the rest of the Shadows around here. Not many but, my main objective is to defeat them so, I will take care of them first before exploring this area.
With this solid plan in mind from yours truly, I get moving forward, stopping only once I’m close enough to a rather large fountain. I did walk for like 50 meters, that can somewhat show how big this area might be but, the fountain is roughly in the middle of this whole area. What I’m trying to say is that this place is “huge”. Anyway, I did choose the fountain because while it’s unnecessary large, the space around it follows the same philosophy, making a good place to have a short battle with the Shadows. There are twenty of them, aimlessly wandering around, almost as if they are looking for something… Now this is odd, this entire place is filled with magic and that is why I was able to figure out the layout of the rooms and of course, this area is not an exception at all. I would expect for the Shadows to at least try to consume everything in here as it would power them up by a little bit and yet, here they are, just wandering around almost as if they have no goal whatsoever. Something is not right but, it’s not like I will figure out the answer by simply standing still while looking at them. Also, they haven’t figured out that I’m right here so, I will have to draw their attention to me. Ah, nothing to worry about as their strength still is C+ rank so I can call everyone at once if I want to.
I did increase my magic energy to A+ rank levels for the previous spell, however, I only did so for a few seconds, it seems it was not enough to get their attention, somehow... These Shadows are really behaving weirdly. It does not make sense as in that realm, the magic energy is ridiculously high so much so that a mere small slime could sense it from a kilometre away. Yet, these Shadows which are much closer than that, they still are ignorant of my existence.

“Maybe they are ignoring me?”
Now that is a good theory and it can somewhat explain their odd behaviour. However, that would only work if they were intelligent enough to surpass their desires to consume anything and everything that has magic. We are back to beginning again, I still have no clue why they are acting in this way and it seems that I won’t figure it out any time soon. Anyway, time to increase my magic levels, I guess. I will start at A- rank, I know that it’s much less than before but I’m hoping that by being at this level for a longer period of time it will be enough to draw their attention to me. The furthest Shadows is close to 30 meters or so from me, I hope that it will be enough but if the case that it’s not, I will simply increase my magic levels until I can get its attention. I can always go to them but, as I said before, this is a good area to have a battle as I have space to freely move around. Not only that, I can deal with several of them at the same time because of it.
Groar!
Ah! There you are! It did not take long but still more than 10 seconds. It seems some canine Shadows have noticed me, running up to me the moment they realize that good food is waiting to be devoured by them. There are five of them, three on one side and two on the other. What I mean is that, they are on my right side and left side. I’m not surrounded per say but, with the fountain behind me and the canine to my sides, it only leaves the front wide open for me to “escape” from them. Not that I will do that but, one of the Shadows is slightly faster than the rest, leaping at me before any of them were close enough to back it up. Yep, these guys do not work well in teams and thank god that’s the case as if they were the same as the Crystal monsters... Oh boy would that be a tragedy mere moments from being written unto history itself as they would probably conquer half the world because of that factor alone. Anyway, he had his mouth wide open ready to tear me a new face however, once he got close enough, I quickly intercept him mid-air, grabbing the lower part of his mouth, the jaw, and throwing him towards the lone canine that is running up to me, as the one that was faster than the rest was part of the pair rather than being part of the group of three, leaving that canine all by himself because of it. I did so with some force behind it, while I didn’t defeat any of them, it did leave them destabilized and of course, wide open for a counter attack.
Fire noises!
With the opposite hand, I quickly raise it towards them and face the palm in the same direction. Without saying anything at all, I quickly shoot a Firebolt towards the one that I just threw. He had his “belly” facing me, allowing me to have a clean view of his core and since it hit the other canine, once the Firebolt hits the core, it will destroy it with ease but it will also go through it, hitting the other one behind and exploding upon impact this time around as the Firebolt has reached its maximum “impact threshold”. The explosion was nothing dramatic and even though it didn’t hit the core directly, thanks to the blast radius, it was more than enough to shatter the core, destroying it in the process. But just as I did this, the other three Shadows leap at me and since I have my back to them, I’m wide open to have my back either scratched, bitten or straight up tear apart as their claws are that fearsome. That is, if I wasn’t expecting them to take advantage of this.
“Take this! Wind Blade?”
Slash!
Faster than what they could see coming, let alone react to it, I turned around towards them, cutting them in half in the process. It is a simple Anemo spell where I use my hand to cleanly cut anything that comes in contact with it. First, I surround my hand with several gusts of winds, forming the shape of a blade with it but slightly bigger than my hand itself. These winds move at high speed and are so thin that it makes them beyond sharp, making my hand similar to a blade from how sharp it is. It has a soft green colour to it however, that’s because the strength of this spell is close to B+ rank as otherwise it would be somewhat “white” as there is not enough magic energy on it to change its colour and yes, if it was ranked at A+, it would’ve an even darker colour. Either way, my hand easily slices the canine in half, cutting the cores in the same way and consequently, defeating them. I didn’t do it in a single swoop but instead three distinct “slices” as they leap one by one towards me. Another three are down, “just” fifteen Shadows to go. I’ve several options now, it seems all of them have just about noticed me as they are starting to march towards me. They don’t have the same speed as the canine so; it will take a few seconds for them to reach me. In their cases though, they are slightly stronger but still within the same rank.
