(169)Chapter 3.3 – The First Area and its Challenges. (Part 2)

  “Take this!”

  Swiish! Bam! Pow!

Once again, I did nothing out of this world, it was a simple two hit combo. Thankfully and luckily, these two in front of me, their cores are quite exposed, allowing me to easily hit where it hurts per say, casually and quickly defeating them. They didn’t even have time to react to be honest, I might’ve been just a little bit far too quick for them. The ones that I just defeated looked like a bear standing up. His form is chaotic thanks to his magical body and with a colour scheme that does not resemble a bear at all but even then, that is what it seemed to me. They are in general bigger than a brown bear, reaching close to 3 meters in height, something akin to what a grizzly bear can reach for example. Their claws were also something that should be noticed as not only were they quite big they could easily rip apart any normal metal armour that dares to defend against their attacks. Their speed however, from how they didn’t even react to my simple dash I will say that, they are not that fast. They are more turned towards strength than agility I would guess. Alright, another two down seven to go. I could face the one that is outside minding its business but, I will leave that one for last as it still hasn’t noticed me. Let’s start with the ones on my left side as I think they have noticed my presence.

“Maybe I should dispose of them in an instant rather than wasting too much time…”

Now I’m having a dilemma… Since I have a place to rest, I’m not too worried about my stamina and magic usage but, what worries me is in fact Kiana, making me face this dilemma. If I spend too much time here will that affect her in any negative way? That thought just crossed my mind as I spoke out loud and of course, it is making me hesitant and unsure on what to do. However, just as I’m thinking about this I unconsciously look towards Miranda, there is a good chance she has the answer for my problem and I hope she will give me an answer for it. But just as I look towards her, I notice something rather odd to say the least. She has both of her slender hands on her chest, embracing each other while at the same time, I think she’s also grabbing her clothes. Not only that, she’s also looking down towards the ground. Wait, is she feeling, ok? I can just about notice that her cheeks are a little bit red…

Argh, now that is the time for this!

“Whatever, let’s get this over with and then I will ask her my questions.”

  Woosh!

Indeed, there is no need to stay still overthinking about everything. Just as I say this, I quickly raise my right hand towards the three Shadows on my left side, facing the palm towards them at the same time. From there, a magic circle in front of it and two others on each side, they are formed a mere fraction of a second later. They have a red colour to them indicating to those unfortunate and poor Shadows that, I will be using a Pyro spell to decimate their pitiful existence. I will also use a skill at the same time, the skill Multiple in this case as it will allow me to use the same spell several times in a row and without affecting their efficiency at the same time. Provided that I have the necessary magic to use all of them, that is. The magic usage of this is thought the roof so I don’t recommend using it with high end spells

  Magic noises! Fire noises!

There is no need for me to spell out an incantation or to even shout the name of the spell. It’s a simple set of three Firebolts powered up to B rank, where one is more than enough to one shot any of them if not all at once if they were in a single line. One of them has a canine form while the other two are something akin to a monster from a horror story as their form is terrifying looking and without any logic behind at all. While the canine core is right in the middle of his magical body, the other two it’s right in the middle of their forehead (if they have any), areas that in the heat of the battle are hard to hit precisely however, for me, nothing of that sort. The Firebolt that will hit the canine will easily go through its head and directly towards the core as the Firebolt is more than strong enough to cause such phenomenon. The other two, the Firebolt will simply consume the entirety of their head and with it, their core.

  Bam! Bam! Bam!

Without any warning at all, the Firebolts are all shoot at the same time towards the Shadows, hitting them a second or so later and of course, doing exactly just as I described, defeating them in the process. Just like the first Shadows, they were unable to react to the Firebolts, let alone dodge them. Another three down, four more to go but yet again, the outside one I will not even bother for now. It seems that after this, those three have finally noticed me, so much so that they are dashing towards me…

Ah crap! She’s right in the middle! And why the hell is she not moving!

“Oh, primordial flames! Heed my voice as the one that is calling by thy is no other than I, Ignatius!”

  Magic noises!

Ah man, I’m going way overboard with this! But what am I supposed to do!? I can’t simply stand here and let them touch Miranda! Argh! Whatever!

“If thy heed my call, manifest in front of I!”

  Fire noises!

Right in front of me a red magic circle the size of my torso is formed and of course from it, hell is about to be created and then unleashed. The A+ rank Pyro spell, Ignitros. One day I will tell who Ignatius was but right now, just behold what he was able to create!

“Decimate my foes as my desires demands! Let the world know how strong Ignatius is! Perish and turn to ashes, Ignitros!”

  Fwoosh! Whistling noises!

The magic circle first gains a usual brightness to it, so much so that you could easily use it as a light source in a room filled with only darkness, complete and utterly darkness. Then with a strong pulling force, everything that it’s near it gets pulled towards it but in fact, it’s only pulling to itself all the magic energy around it. It’s a little “bonus” before unleashing its devastating spell as it will use said additional magic to strengthen itself further, even if by less than 1%. Once that is done, it shoots three fire arrows towards the front, towards the Shadows that are far too unlucky to be deemed targets by the fire arrows. These arrows are much bigger than a normal arrow of course, easily as big as a normal sword for example. Not only that, the sheer speed at which they travel is so immense that they even have a whistling sound to them as they speed through the air and towards the target. They are not breaking the sound barrier in terms of speed but, they still are fast, monstrously fast. What makes this spell even more terrifying is the fact that, A+ rank is its initial rank or in other words, as even on its base form, it’s already strong enough to decimate 99% of the monsters out there but! In the hands of someone like me, I could make this much, much stronger as the limit itself seems to be endless. I’ve never tried to go beyond S+ rank as in that realm I can literally blow a damn mountain into smithereens with it. Seriously, what Ignatius did, created, is nothing more than breath taking, mind blowing, amazing, a masterpiece of a family of spells that should be sealed away for eternity itself. He was not a Hero like myself but neither a Demon Lord, instead, he was someone whose strength rivals us.

He was nothing more than the King of the Desert.

The one that ruled the entirety of the desert itself and brought prosperity to his civilization until his very own death.

He was feared by those that opposed him. But he was loved by those that were under his mercy.

He was terrifying to those that only knew rumours about him. But to those that knew the truth, he was nothing more than a Hero.

Argh, here I am yapping and going on another tangent! I mean, those Shadows are mere moments from being blown away into nothing!

  Blast! Swoosh!

As expected, they didn’t have any time to react to it, let alone dodge it. The three arrows hit them dead on, right in the middle, exploding the moment they made contact. The explosion that follows it is more than violent; however, the way they hit it makes the blast radius of the explosion go forward in a line rather than in a circle, a line that is slightly wider than the Shadows itself. It was on purpose of course as otherwise, Mirada would be caught in it, rendering all of my worries useless as I would be the very culprit of what I was trying to prevent from happening and in this situation, it would’ve been far worse than what the Shadows could ever wish to accomplish. It left absolutely nothing behind, not that the Shadows leave anything to begin with however! In that small chance that it could happen, with this, it will definitely never happen. The shock wave that follows the explosion however, it does not follow the same principle as the explosion in fact, it’s quite soft, gently hitting Miranda, making all of her clothes dance with it and of course, allowing me to see her short hair waving around for brief moments as the veil of hers was out of the way because of oi. Huh, I sure did not overreact at all.

  Yep, not at all.
