April 25, Thursday.

  Ah, a new day and a new Kiana!

  Just kidding, still the same ol’ and beautiful Kiana. Anyway, her morning goes like normal, another boring morning routine, she gets up but stays in bed, rubs her pretty golden eyes and stays in that position for roughly a minute or so, it seems that she likes to gather “courage” to actually get out of bed. She then goes to the bathroom to take care of her needs, has breakfast right after, then goes once again to the bathroom but this time to take care of her hygiene, blah, blah, blah, the usual. The same can be said about her classes, both in the morning and in the afternoon.

  It’s 17:37 pm.

  The day sure went by quite fast, both Kiana and Anya are about to leave the lab. It was a productive day I would say, while nothing exciting has happened to them, Kiana really is slowly but surely learning how to use the computers and even the machines.

  “Kiana, do you have everything?”

  Kiana- Yes, I do! We can go home for today.

  Anya- Are you sure about that? Do you have your keys with you? You forgot then the other day and if I wasn’t here, I don’t know how you would’ve got home...

  Kiana- Urgh... My mind was elsewhere when that happened... But! I do have my keys this time around! And I also have my purse! Don’t worry, I won’t forget anything! I hope so.

  With quite the mistrustful look on Anya's face, she slowly closes and locks the door. After that, they both leave the Academy however, right at the entrance or should I say exit in this case? Either way, they are met with quite the surprise one that none could expect.

  People talking!

  A few groups of students are right outside of the Academy discussing something rather loudly. I would say around thirty or so students are doing so, actually, some of them even seem a little exalted for whatever reason. Maybe they are talking about football? Or is it soccer? Anyway, while Kiana has no interest in both of these sports, seeing the students like that, it does pick up her interest and even Anya interest. They look at each other before doing anything, as if they have reached some type of agreement without saying a single word, nodding at each other and getting somewhat close to a group of students so that they can hear what they are saying. My, my, Kiana and Anya, this sure is a shameful thing to do however, it really seems curiosity got the best of them.

  Worried Female Student- Guys, have you heard the news? The ones about the bridge? Have you heard what is happening there?

  Excited Student- Hell yeah! My cousin just told us what’s happening there. Ah man, I wish I was there! That seems so cool!

  Scared Female Student- Oh my god! Are you like an idiot? What do you think would happen to us if those things got close to us? No way, just thinking about it scares me…

  Overconfident Student- Don’t worry about it my love! I will protect you from any harm that might come down! I will beat them into a pulp if they even dare to come near you!

  Scared Female Student- Oohh, thank you my white knight! Ah, what would I do without your courage?

  Worried Female Student- Urgh, damn lovebirds… However, you? Protecting her? You can’t even defeat a D rank monster, let alone those things! You will get slaughtered in an instant!

  Excited Student- Oie, just wait a second. What about if we team up? I think we can defeat at least one of them!

  Worried Female Student- You’re just a little stronger than him! You wish the two of you could achieve something like that! You will be killed in an instant! You won’t even know what hit your sorry rear end!

  Scared Female Student- Re-Really? Are they really that dangerous? Oh no…

  Overconfident Student- My love, don’t listen to her and don’t worry about it. Not only are they far away from us, in any case, we can always escape.

  Excited Student- What do you mean by escape!? Never in my life! I have to experience it at least once in my life! Otherwise, I won’t be able to boast about it to no one! A dangerous battle is right in front of me, and yet I’m just a mere bystander, carefully watching the adventurers getting slaughtered by them... Then, once they have been defeated, I will have to quietly run for my life.

  “Argh! That’s so cool! Look at all the stories that I can come up with! Ah, my grandkids will be thrilled!”

  Worried Female Student- You damn idiot...

  I agree with you, random woman that we will never see or hear from again. This is merely speculation and wishful thinking from him, something that only someone that has been safe throughout all of his life can say. Reality couldn’t be so much different and, while I don’t want him to ever learn about it, I can confidently say that, it will leave quite the mark on him for his entire life. Anyway, after this, they quiet down, enough for both Anya and Kiana to not hear or understand what they are saying.

  Anya- They were talking about monsters, right? Is there something happening at the bridge?

  Kiana- I don’t know and from here, I cannot sense any danger at all. Just like one of them said, we are quite far from the bridge so, it’s normal that I cannot sense anything that might be happening in there.

  Anya- I mean, I agree? But, shouldn’t we be worried about it? Maybe we are not directly in danger but, what about the rest of the city? I don’t know, I think we should be worried…

  Kiana- Humm... I can always check it out but, if I do so, there is a good chance-no, I will be helping them out if I do so. Yeah, I should do that, just to be sure… Maybe you should just go home and leave your windows open? That way, if you hear something out of the ordinary you can check it out in an instant?

  Anya- That’s an idea for sure... However, I don’t like the idea of you going there by yourself... What if something happens to you while you’re there? What if you need help and there is no one to help you out? I-I’m also going with you!

  You can see, hear and feel Anya worries but at the same time, you can also see, hear and feel the determination behind her sharp green eyes, behind her stuttering voice but one with a slighter higher timber to it. She also brings both of her hands to her chest, embracing each other with it. Not only that, she also leans forward a little bit as she musters her courage and as lets out her desire to go with Kiana into the world. There is a soft and gentle smile on her voluptuous lips however, her golden eyes tell a slightly different story, on them, you can see the gratitude for Anya worries and the will to go far for her. However, said look quickly switches to a serious one as she will have to tell Anya the truth, one that will be hard for her to accept.

  “Anya, don’t take this for the wrong side but, if I truly need help, what do you think you could do? If I happen to stumble across a monster that is stronger than I, how would you help me out?”

  The truth is as cold and as harsh as reality itself. Kiana is more than right on what she’s saying, and Anya quickly understands her reason, leaving her speechless as her face unconsciously goes down and her green eyes focus their attention towards her hands, ones that she also descended down to stomach level.

  What could she really do if Kiana was to face someone stronger than her?

  That’s a good question to ask but unfortunately for her, a futile one that will only bring her misery as she will witness Kiana being killed thanks to how weak and useless she will be. I would never say something like this to anyone really however, this is something that Anya needs to quickly understand. Kiana has reached such heights where, for a monster to be stronger than her, he has to be a complete and utterly abomination that was created by the world itself, said monster could easily kill a human in a blink of an eye. Said monster on that occasion will not let Anya escape and because of it, she will not be unable to ask for help, not only that, she’s dead weight, Kiana will have to do her utmost best to keep her safe from such terror, putting herself in danger in the process. Kiana is thinking correctly, she cares about Anya and that is why she’s trying to make her see just how useless she will be and how dangerous it will also be. Anya is far too weak as I stated but, so much so that, a mere Elemental Slime could and can kill her with ease.

  Anya- I-I... I have potions! Several of them! I-I can heal you if you need it! I can also cure your fatigue in case you need it! I can also recover some of your magic energy if you need it! I know I can help out too!

  That’s a lie. We all know that, you included.

  Just accept reality, it will be far easier for you.

  “(I can’t let her go by herself!)”

  We both know that but, there’s nothing that you can do about it.

  “Pat!”

  While Anya is doing her best to come up with something that can help out Kiana, Kiana on the other hand, gently brings her left hand upwards and towards Anya's head. She does not notice this because, not only she’s looking down at her hands, ones where she’s fumbling around with her thumbs, she also has her eyes closed so that she can think of such help. Once her tender left hand was right above Anya's head, she allows gravity do its thing, dropping down into Anya head with a little bit of force behind it, easily grabbing Anya's attention to her. Then, she pats Anya's head, it wasn’t a gentle and soft pat, one that Anya would barely feel, no, she bounces her head to the sides with it. It was rough but, on purpose as she wants Anya to face her and to stop her futile and meaningless struggle.
