Writing noises!
This figure writes on a small notebook, writing every single detail that you can think of. How many monsters were at the monster stampede, their strength and ranks, the adventurers that bravely fought said stampede, their names, ranks and so on. Way too detailed if I say it myself but, this is not the end of it.
“None of them are anything special… A mere B rank monster can take care of almost 90% of the adventurers that stopped the monster stampede.”
It’s a familiar voice, one that was heard a good set of days ago, way in the beginning I will say. You probably have already forgotten about her, how she looks, her name however, I didn’t. I couldn’t do it after all, what they did is something that I can’t and don’t want to forget about it. It’s Beta, the shinobi-like woman that was with the masked person and the one that “committed” the heinous act.
“Anne is quite weak but she still is at B- rank. Her Pyro spells however, their strength are in the lower B rank, showing great affinity with the Pyro element. She can handle the weakest ones from afar with some ease but, the moment they are close to her, she’s dead.”
It is a cold description of her abilities but a correct one although I have no clue what she’s referring to “weakest ones”. Also, her voice is as cold as ice itself, she’s mummering to herself but, not to the point that I cannot understand what she’s saying. However, why is she doing this? All of these notes are for what?
Is there any point in trying to figure it out?
“Karls on the other hand, he is far stronger than her and even a little bit of a threat… Ah, who am I kidding? He still is weak, far too weak to be even considered a threat to me. He’s at B+ rank and while his vast arsenal of spells are a bother, they are nothing that one of those won’t deal with easily.”
Once again, another cold description but one that is the truth. Anne really is far weaker than Karls and once again, she has mentioned some type of “thing” as she said that, Karls vast arsenal of spells are taken care of easily by “one of those”. Alright, there relay isn’t any point in me trying to figure it out so, enough of my offsides, let’s just hear her out.
“Charles on the other hand, he’s also at B rank and the only aspect worth noticeable about him are his Martial Arts skills. Everything else about him is meaningless however, his somewhat old age can be a bother. With old age comes experience, one that can easily change the tide of the battle as he used to say to me… He still is a weakling in my eyes but, I will keep that in mind. The rest are not even worth mentioning.”
Writing noises! Paper noises!
While she might have said this, she keeps on writing the exact same things that I have said before, their names, abilities, ranks and so on. Until of course, she abruptly stopped doing so, something forced her to stop.
Snap!
She breaks her pencil in half thanks to the enormous amount of anger and rage that she's feeling. Hmm, there is also what seems to be a mix of annoyance and straight-out disgust towards something rather than those two emotions that I said. Now I wonder, what is making her feel like this? It was out of nowhere and, the only thing that I can see in the notebook is-
Magical Girl
Oh, now I get it. An anomaly that completely blew up her plans, in such a spectacular way that she could have never foreseen it. This person by herself, she dealt with the threat, rendering it completely and utterly useless and of course, without letting her get any results or at least good ones, ones that would satisfy her at the very least.
Beta- This clown... Where the hell did she come from? And seriously? Magical Girl? What is she, 10 years old? Humph! Those monsters sure were pathetic, a bunch of weaklings as they got defeated by her quite easily.
She has a sharp tone to her voice as she says this and of course, the look on her face matches it. It more than seems that this Magical Girl angered her by quite a bit, so much so that she couldn’t contain said anger, snapping her pencil in half just as the thought of said person came to her mind.
“They might’ve been a bunch of weaklings but she still defeated all of them by herself and she did so with ease.”
Swoosh!
I forget to mention but, Beta is sitting down right at the edge of the building as she writes everything down in her notebook, as she carefully watched what was happening. This voice however, comes from behind her and it is a male voice although a bit distorted. Yes, it’s also another familiar voice, one that we also have heard some time ago. Panic fills her mind as she hears a voice right from behind her, so much so that it stops her brain from recognizing it. Her eyes are wide open for a split second as the shock takes over them but, as quickly as they widen, they become sharp the next very moment ready for action. She quickly takes out a kunai from a pocket on her right leg and with her kunai in her steady hand ready for the deadly strike, she quickly turns around and gets up while doing so, while precisely pointing the tip of the kunai at the neck of whoever was able to get behind her without her noticing so.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Beta- Tsk! It’s you... Do you have a death wish or what? You got lucky that I didn’t feel any bad intentions from you or bloodlust as otherwise, you would be dead right now.
She lowers her kunai and puts it back in her pocket as she complains with quite the annoyed tone of voice and even looks at her face. However, the moment she saw who it is, her face relaxed the very next moment and so did her body. After all, it is the masked person, her “boss” in other words.
“Hmm, you’re saying all of that but, I still got behind you. You shouldn’t let your guard down after all, do you know where that woman went?”
Beta- How the heck am I supposed to know that? She used teleport magic to get out of there, I can’t tell you much else aside from that. And no, I don’t think she would come here, not even close. First of all, she first needs to sense me or in case all the planets are aligned, to actually know where I am, two things that I more than doubt she could do. Secondly, have you ever heard of a silent teleport spell? Me neither.
“You got a point there, if she teleported here, you would quickly hear it per say; however, I think you are underestimating her far too much. One of them used the Shadow Transformation skill, that alone powered up that monster several times and yet, she defeated with ease, didn’t she?”
Beta- You saw everything, didn’t you? Why are you even asking then? But yes, that monster reached the upper A rank.
“What did she call him? Was it... Shadow Chariot? That is a good name if I say it myself.”
Beta- How the hell am I supposed to know what she named that weakling? Seriously, sometimes I don’t understand you at all but, whatever suits you I guess... Just tell me something, what happened there? Did you teleport them?
“The parallel dimension collapsed and expelled our minions into the real world. The battle between the adventurers and the monster stampede was the catalyst for that phenomenon to happen. The variations of the magic in the “air” made the parallel dimension unstable and once it reached the breaking point, it collapsed and forced them out.”
Beta- Are serious? Is it that easy to destabilize the dimensions? Is there any way you can prevent that? That seems quite the flaw in your plan, after all, all of those dimensions are mere moments from collapsing by simply having a somewhat stronger adventurer show off his muscles.
“Well, this dimension was prepared by Code, so that alone can explain why this happened. But don’t worry too much, the other ones are more than secure. It’s not a little bit of magic that will disturb them.”
Beta- I hope that is the case otherwise I’m killing all of you for wasting my time although, I have no clue why you gave him such a task. Whatever, here, this is what you asked for. I will be going then, I still have my life to attend.
She gives him the notebook and right after that, she disappears with the shadows, leaving him all by himself in the silence.

Wind noises!
The wind blows on his mask with some force after all, it is getting late, it's 19:50 pm so it’s normal for the temperature to drop down and for the wind to start to blow with slightly more strength behind it. He’s right up in the air per say, at the top of the tallest building and in that area, that phenomenon happens with more ease and even with more force as the higher the altitude, the tendency is to be colder while at the same time, having more wind. Enough of this wind talk, he looks down at the people, at the busy streets as he ponders what Beta said.
“A life to attend you say... This is nothing more than a charade to you, an excuse to escape your fate and yet... You seem to be taking this far too seriously, your personal life that is. If this fails, you’re not killing anyone, but it seems your new found strength is getting in your small head, making you believe in such fantasies.”
He says all of this with the coldest tone of voice one can think of, one that is as cold the temperatures way up north, ones where they casually reach -50 degrees. But, what does he mean by this? Is he taking what she said seriously or, is it a warning to her? Something does not smell good behind his words, something fishy as they would say. Well, everything about them is quite suspicious and now that we know that they are at fault for the incident, it makes everything about them a big question mark. But no point in trying to decipher their motives and reasons, only time will tell us not only that, if I do so, I might as well break out of this role that I currently have and deal with them personally.
I will never forget what they did to that person.
“While you may like to complain quite a bit, at least your job is done properly. However, we have another problem to look into and from what you wrote, that woman might be S rank. The same rank as you in case you have forgotten-Ah, what am I saying, of course not as otherwise you wouldn’t be acting this cocky.”
The streets are busy as I said, the sun has basically set down and with it, the street lights are turned on, lighting up the whole streets in such a way that, it’s quite visible almost to the point that, the sun never went to sleep. And yet all of this, to him, it seems nothing but futile struggle of those that are far too ignorant of a greater power that rules over them. From how high he is, the people seem like ants trying to live their miserable and easily forgotten lives, unaware of what the future holds.
“Magical Girl, are you the one who I am looking for? The one that I will eliminate? Or are you just another insignificant fly trying to blow up my plans? I will not let you interfere with my goal, I will find her and if you dare to oppose us…”
“I
Will
Kill
You
Just like I did to all of the other ones that dared to stand in my way.”
