[PAST] / Amber / 70 ACD-1-3 the City / confrontation p2.

  “Where am I?”

Amber looked around and recognized it was one of his safe places. Instinct prevailed.

“I was played with like a child; Song let me say all those things. I was even happy that I played on his nerves. Song, however, had played it his way. What did he do to me? I surprised him the moment I fired transportation. Song must have recognized the technique—it is his own. Fortunately, he didn’t catch me. At least here I surprised my student.”

He sensed around. Energy protection was intact; no one tried to breach it. It looked like Song didn’t manage to track him. Not yet.

“My energy drops. He damaged something in my Ability. Is that even possible? I’m an energy teacher, and I don’t know what Song did to make my Ability drop. Will it drop to zero? Then I’m as good as dead. Perhaps that is why he wasn’t concerned about killing me quickly. I wanted a weapon of this type but never succeeded despite much testing. I stole energy; I even did. More than once, I attacked Abilitiers.”

“Oh, my energy stopped dropping at level one. Embarrassing.”

“Will I be able to recover? What is optimistic is that my body is changed permanently. I do not need energy to keep this form, this face. Moreover, I do not need a lot of energy to morph further. I must morph my face again.”

  “How did Song find me?”

“… This angered him. When I said it… he is attached to someone. It hurt him, what I said. That is something to think about.”

“My Song—I do not allow it. I need to teach him a lesson. Attachment is a fuss. I also need to punish him for what he did to me today. I need time to prepare.”

“I promise, Song. Your teacher will punish you hard.”
