“Right,” Luna said aloud.
She was thinking that for Taj it had to be tough. On the other hand, both of them were living, being consumed by nightmares. Each had their own. They were truly not only troublemakers but also quite pitiful.
Adding to all her frights, what had happened at her house also gave her a few nights of fever and screams.
Si was so patient.
There was no Taj now to help her calm down. She needed to finally learn to do it alone, and it did her good.
“Right?” she asked aloud.
Luna flicked herself on the forehead and started smiling.
“Who is a brave shrimp? I am!”
She was laughing hard.
Taj would manage. Luna decided to ask him to project later so they could train. Whenever she asked him to be her teacher, he somehow was happier. As it gave him a sense of purpose. Moreover, he was then able to show his emotions, complain a bit, smile, and all.
Si, though… Si and Lukai were very much involved in the changes.
It gave her strength. Instead of being a hindrance or a burden, she finally gained the strength to look into the future. Think about how she could help and what to do so that Si would have a good, good life with her. Not only a family, but also support.

She began to be truly grateful for everything Taj taught her. That she could listen to what Si said and understand what he told her, then say what she thought about it.
Taj always laughed that she was smart. No, no exaggeration.
She and Si had a talk during the night. He wanted to tell her openly about his new idea, something connected to energy tools. She said that she wanted to have it transparent; she wanted to understand what he was doing, what was going on, and know how she could help. But for his safety and for him to feel secure, she shouldn’t know details of some things.
Her situation was already problematic; it was known to some she was dual. That she was Clar, no, but that she was dual, it was known. And some could try to use her to threaten Si.
Luna needed to understand what was happening to avoid issues and know whom to trust and whom definitely not. She should be able to defend herself.
Finally, she shouldn’t know details of—for example—weapons. So, no one could use her against Si.
When she told Si all of it, she saw he was happier than he was before.
It felt perfect.
She already described this conversation to Taj—he also commented on it that she solved it well.
Taj. Luna missed him.
The wedding was to happen soon.
Si’s parents looked happy. The family was so supportive. Si’s mother, Sara, was open to talking about the children. Luna couldn’t have children. Before she had no one to love, it was not an issue. But now?
They talked, and Sara was very open. It was refreshing. Surely, they will have this talk many times, not because Si’s mother was insisting; it was Luna that would need to talk about it more times.
The wedding soon, and… Avery!
Luna snorted.
“Right, I forgot that he didn’t confirm yet. Would he come back?”
She decided to write yet another message. She did it; her mind then came back to thinking about Si. Luna loved him with all of herself. She finally allowed herself to feel it, and when she did, it filled her heart, mind, and body. Love.
Luna felt happy and finally was not scared to say to herself that it was it. Happy. Just like this. Or even more. She also started to say, to herself, that she was worth it; she could feel happy.
That was her freedom.
