Chapter 30 / Lukai / 170 ACD-12-6 08:00 p.m. Planet One-the OFF

Lukai looked at Si, and Si looked back at him.

“I do not know what to say.” Lukai said in a low voice.

“So, you do not know what to say.” Si’s voice was also low.

  There was silence between them.

Lukai was not sure if it had solved everything or complicated it more.

Luna was Si’s fiancée. And Luna was Si’s Anna.

  What a twist.

Honestly, it was more like silence during their meeting, but it was enough for them to understand each other and the whole situation. They didn’t argue. No point.

It didn’t cause their alliance to collapse. They knew what was important and what to let go—it was how Lukai understood it.

Personal matters were secondary; he had bigger goals. This was the reason, in the past, when Lukai decided to stop meeting Luna. It was also the reason he was never truly involved with someone. Only simple relations, no deep connections, no deep exchange of information as well.

Lukai was aware; he needed to be careful. Not to share too much, not only about the OFF plans but also about his identity. And his future goals too.

He also didn’t expect Si to concentrate on personal love and abandon political alliances and the future of Shadows.

But words were words, and actions were actions.

“So, this is it,” Si said. “I want to meet with her,” he added.

“I agree; I will arrange it,” Lukai said.

  They had finished discussing Luna.

Si didn’t disappoint him; he was exactly as Lukai observed during the last few years. Consistent. True to his values. A person with integrity.

Lukai was glad. Their alliance was tested and survived. Many collapsed because of a woman. He had a clear head. The past was the past. What counted was the immediate future.
