Diary 8 - Modern Devices

"Seriously? In broad daylight like this?"

Aeko looked at Azura and Kazuha, who were standing stiffly in embarrassment while trying to cover the bruises on their faces—Azura had a black eye on his right side, while Kazuha had a swollen left lip.

"You two fought over just one last slice of pizza? You're so embarrassing," Aeko said before walking into the bathroom.

Once Aeko had disappeared from their sight, Azura and Kazuha glared at each other before trying to punch one another again.

After some time had passed, Aeko opened the bathroom door wearing the same outfit as yesterday: a tuxedo with black pants and casual shoes that she had designed herself.

Not long after Aeko came out, two doors from two different rooms opened, immediately revealing Azura and Kazuha, who were also ready in their respective outfits. Fortunately, they had extra accessories to cover their bruises.

"Team Triple T is ready to carry out the mission to crash into the concert!" Aeko shouted while crouching and posing together with Azura and Kazuha.

Aeko chuckled lightly before giving directions. "Let's go!"

Filled with fiery enthusiasm, they left the room one by one, heading toward the elevator to go downstairs.

Even the receptionist was surprised by the behavior of the three of them as they tried to check out of the hotel. "Uh... please sign here."

On the street while walking, they discussed their plan again.

"So, you two will wait at the backstage entrance and await my instructions, understood?" Aeko said.

Azura and Kazuha gave enthusiastic thumbs-up at the same time, proving that they understood and were ready for the plan.

In front of an electronics store, Azura and Kazuha waited for Aeko, who was buying covert earpieces and binoculars. It didn't take long; the door opened, and Aeko tossed two earpieces to Azura and Kazuha.

"Good thing I remembered at the last minute—these are walkie-talkie!" Aeko said with great excitement.

With confused expressions, Azura and Kazuha could only stare at Aeko blankly while holding the earpieces in their hands.

With an annoyed face, Aeko asked, "Don't tell me you were pretending yesterday to know how to use them."

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

"Uhhh..." they replied while scratching their heads.

"Oh my god," Aeko said before forcefully taking their earpieces and shoving them into their ears.

"Ouch! Could you be a little gentler?" Azura complained in pain.

Of course, Aeko also put on her own and showed them the walkie-talkie for the second time.

"This is a walkie-talkie, for communicating with you guys."

After showing the walkie-talkie to Azura and Kazuha, Aeko tried setting the signal and connecting it to the covert earpieces she had just bought.

"Test. Can you hear me?" Aeko asked.

"Yap yap!" they both replied while nodding.

Aeko sighed before continuing, "Actually, we can communicate without the walkie-talkie, but the range of the covert earpieces I bought is very short, and I can't communicate long-distance with you if we only rely on the earpieces."

"Same for you—you guys also can communicate with me, but you have to stay within the earpiece range. That's why we have to move fast: get in, kidnap Miracle as quickly as possible, without causing too much chaos."

Without further ado, they split up. Azura and Kazuha ran toward the backstage of the massive stadium, following Miracle's crew workers.

Meanwhile, Aeko ran to a building that looked like a fairly large lodging with rooms, though not too modern. It didn't take her long to reach the rooftop of the tall building while observing Miracle's concert backstage.

It also didn't take long for Azura and Kazuha to arrive at the backstage back door. To avoid looking suspicious, they sat on the nearest chairs while looking around.

"Check—can you hear me?" Aeko asked through the walkie-talkie.

Azura and Kazuha looked around to locate Aeko; it turned out she was right in the building behind them. To answer her question, Azura and Kazuha gave her a thumbs-up.

Seeing their gestures was enough to answer the previous question, so Aeko refocused on her binoculars.

While waiting for instructions from Aeko, Kazuha tried to confirm their plan. "Alright, Azura: enter backstage, change clothes, kidnap Miracle, then escape. If we fail, we need a backup plan, right?"

"You're right. If we're spotted, how about using your disappearing shadow magic thingy?" Azura replied confidently.

"It's easy for you to say that. Even though I can teleport you, the distance isn't as far as you think. We'd end up getting swarmed by millions of fans and causing chaos in Stellhaven—we'd get blacklisted from ever coming here."

"Then we'd have no choice but to fight those millions of fans, assuming we're not affected by Miracle's magic."

"Be honest, do you have some secret power?" Azura asked while slightly pushing up his sunglasses, looking at Kazuha suspiciously.

Kazuha could only turn away in annoyance at Azura's suspicious face. "Tch."

"You two! Now's the time! Hurry!" Aeko shouted through the walkie-talkie.

Azura playfully punched Kazuha's arm while standing up. "Told you—she's pretty useful."

Kazuha could only sigh patiently, even though he felt extremely annoyed inside.

Quickly, they ran toward the entrance to the outdoor backstage—the outermost part of the stadium.

On the other side, a few minutes earlier, Miracle and a man behind her were arguing in the makeup room before the concert started.

"Feyline! Oh my god, I already told you not to accept the concert in Stellhaven. You're on the blacklist—anyone could be hunting you!" the man behind the woman, who was applying makeup, shouted.

"Jeff, if you're worried about me, why don't you just guard outside?" from the mirror, it was clear the woman was Miracle, doing her makeup.

The man clenched his fists, then stormed out, slamming the door. He walked out of the indoor backstage to get some fresh air.

Outside, the man saw two young men in tuxedos—one with sunglasses, the other with a scarf—walking past him. Though he felt something was off, he chose to let them enter the indoor backstage.

After taking a few deep breaths of fresh air, he looked up at the sky before noticing someone on top of a tall building with binoculars.

To confirm his suspicion, the man walked to the edge of the street for a closer look. And sure enough, he was certain.

A woman in a tuxedo was spying on the area. It didn't take him long to cross the street.

Some time had passed for Azura and Kazuha to enter the indoor backstage and change into one of Miracle's crew outfits.

Wearing formal clothes with "CREW" written on the back, Azura and Kazuha could now freely move in and out of the backstage. However, they to keep wearing their sunglasses and scarf to not get caught by the fans.

One important thing that Azura and Kazuha missed was the small screams coming from their covert earpieces, because when the screams were heard they were removing their earpieces while changing clothes.

"Well, that was easy," Kazuha said as he walked out of the changing room with Azura while putting the earpieces back in their ear.

Just a few steps later, they were suddenly stopped by a man's voice from behind.

  "Hey! You forgot this."
