Part 2 – Kenny Sullivan
Chapter Seventeen - I didn’t even know we applied.
Sometime later.
Benny said, “So come on, why did the guy want to meet?”
Kenny scanned the street and replied, “He has a job for us.”
Benny asked, “You going to take it?”

Kenny knew the guy had men out here. He spotted a possibility and replied, “Yeah, we are.”
Benny asked, “What’s the job?”
Kenny went straight for the car. He didn’t like speaking about jobs in public. He said, “Something that will give you and Jerome a chance to open your wings. Something that will get you paid.”
Benny watched as Kenny got in the passenger seat. He had watched when Kenny had swept the car for bugs this morning. Whatever this job was, Kenny didn’t want any leaks. Benny asked, “What did he say about Frank and the big guy?”
Kenny paused for a long while to think. Finally, he said, “They aren’t people you push. He said they did something he was told was impossible. Yeah, Benny, I asked what that was. He said Frank returned something to him. I didn’t want to press. He said Fred was one of the best men he knew, and Frank was Frank. He said Frank was born in the wrong time and on a mission. If we wanted to survive, we should either help him or stay out of his way.”
Benny said, “So, we help him.”
Kenny replied, “Yeah, we help the outlaw cowboy with a vendetta, until we can’t.”
Benny said out loud to himself, “Ancient frecken six gun and all.”
