Sitting comfortably on Mordred’s shoulder, I looked down on the nervous soldiers below. All of them were confused about what they were seeing before them.

  “Wait, so you’re telling me that the report about a kobold being in charge was true?!” One of them asked, a mix of confusion and fear blended together.

  Another asked as well, wondering if what he was seeing was true. “You mean that crazy monster LISTENS to the tiny lizard?!”

  Mordred continued his rampage as he loudly laughs in pure joy with having me, his boss, on his side as I observed him fight for me. “HAHA that’s right tremble before the might of me as my boss’ weapon!”

  Fear and confusion only grew as the soldiers found their numbers dwindling. Hmm with things progressing so smoothly we should end things here soon. Though with my current injuries and my mana all tapped out, it would be better to draw it out instead. After all, I needed to properly establish my dominance if I wanted to fully succeed in my conquest in this kingdom. And I can’t do that when I could barely move myself.

  If only I had some leftover [Healing Powder] in my storage, but I had depleted it all in my last fight. Unless….

  I had remembered that I instructed V to gather some [Healing Herbs]. Mostly just as a way to keep them off of the fight. But knowing their skills they should have gathered more than enough. With that in mind, I decided to give V a call.

  “Hey V, how are you doing in getting the stuff I asked you?”

  I could practically hear them jump in surprise only to react in joy, “Oh Mr. Vlad! This is still so cool! But uhm yeah, I got lots of that Healing Herb plant things you wanted.”

  I was happy to hear that so continued with my instructions. “Good job V! I need you to bring them here now. I could use some at the moment and I could say some of my minions could too.”

  “Ok Mr. Vlad! But uhm…. When I was gathering those plants, I found a different type of plant that I found interesting. Should I bring them too?”

  Hmmm that is fascinating. Considering how V’s [Search] works, whatever they found would ultimately prove useful no matter what is. “Alright bring them here too. I’ll take a look at them and see what we can do with them. Again, excellent job V!”

  “Yay, Mr. Vlad keeps praising me!”

  With that V should be returning back to the battlefield soon. It shouldn’t take them long to come back so I thought now would be a good time to finish things. I leaned closer to Mordred’s head, all the while making sure I could keep myself steady on his shoulder and began to give him his instructions.

  “Alright let’s end things now, once you finish things I’ll take it from there.”

  Mordred laugh with joy as he responded with enthusiasm “As you wish boss! ~”

  With increased speed, Mordred put more strength into his swings all the while roaring on the top of his lungs. It took all I could to block out the noise, it was any wonder I was still able to keep hold of him. The intense roar did as it was intended and managed to further increase the remaining soldiers’ fear. Causing them to fall on ground, unable to move from terror, practically waiting for their death.

  Seeing them all surrender I motioned Mordred to put me down. I managed to get enough strength to at least stand and move a little. I did still have to lean a little to Mordred though.

  Once I was sure I had everyone’s attention I began to speak, making sure to spread out my arms so everyone could properly see me. “Seems you all have made the smart decision to surrender, glad to hear. Now why don’t we discuss a few matters, shall we? ~”

  The soldiers looked at each other, not knowing what to do before one of them spoke up. “D-don’t get cocky you lizard! When the Knight Comma-”

  I interrupted him before he could finish, already knowing what he was going to say and wanting to dash that hope before it came up. “Oh him, sorry to burst your bubble but I already taken care of him.”

  They all looked shocked, unable to believe what I was saying. To make them believe my accusation I pulled out the [Monster Gem Locator] that was on Tobias’ belongings. I had instructed Damian to take it with him, so I had proof over my claim of defeating him.

  Some of the soldiers’ eyes bulged upon seeing it. “N-no way… isn’t that the Gem the Commander used for monster extraction missions? Why does it have it?!”

  The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

  “D-don’t tell me… Is it telling the truth? … Did it really defeat the Commander?!”

  Seems taking the Gem was the right call, though I felt myself winded just from trying to show it off. But as if on cue, V and their group had come into view. Upon seeing the state of the battle my orc that was with them lowered his arms in disappointment, grumbling to himself.

  “…. Did we miss all the action? Damn….”

  Wanting to feel a little better responded to my orc. “Don’t worry, next conquest I’ll make sure you take on the frontlines. Just remind me before then. Also, good job in protecting V” That seemed to be enough to perk my orc up as he gleefully nodded.

  He started to rub the back of his head from the compliment. “Ehehehe just doing my job boss. ~”

  When we finished our chat V jumped off of my wolf they were riding with as they happily ran towards me, bag filled to the brim. “Mr. Vlad Mr. Vlad! I got all the plants you needed! I even crushed them up too!”

  Seeing V this happy had me forget my own sore body as I gently patted their head. “Good job V.” I then grabbed some of the [Healing Powder] and applied it around the various wounds on my body. I could already feel my stamina returning as the soreness diminished.

  “Ah better already, now I want you to distribute to the rest of my minions that need it. But before that you said you found something interesting earlier?”

  “Oh right, yeah I found this blue looking plant and I thought it was interesting.” V then went through their bag as they searched through it to find what they were looking for before.

  In their hand was the blue plants as I immediately Inspect it.

  This was a great find!! It was exactly what I needed for the moment. “V, how much of these did you take?!”

  V happily jumped, sensing that they were getting some praise for what they did quickly took out four more of the plant. “I got five of them Mr. Vlad! Did I do a good job?!”

  I patted their head once more as my answer to their question. That got V extra excited as they bounced around like a horned rabbit. “Yayy!!”

  I took one of the [Mana Lotus] while putting the rest in my [Dimensional Box]. I did notice that it was almost full, I’ll have to organize it later and figure out my storage limitations. For now, I took a bite off of the plant and immediately I felt the bitterness that the notification warned me about on my tongue! It was so bad that I could feel my lips pucker up, I quickly covered my mouth with my claws as I forced myself to swallow the rest of the plant. It would be embarrassing to have everyone here see my reaction.

  The soldiers couldn’t understand what was happening and seemed generally confused. I recomposed myself as I coughed on my claw. I did notice that my mana was recovering a bit faster now, at least enough for me to compare the difference. I tried to act like none of that happened.

  “Anyways where was I…Ah right. Now that you know that your Knight Commander is no longer able to fight. None of you have to fear his strength.”

  They didn’t look convinced; they were wondering if they really had nothing to be afraid of. Or if they simply traded one aggressive authority for another. I decided to help alleviate their concerns. “If you are worried over what I plan to do with you fear not, I have no intention of forcing you all to submit to me with brute force.”

  I waved my claw forward to the defeated knights, extending it as if to offer it towards them. “Instead, I rather you join me as my minions willingly. Some of your brethren has already done so before.”

  There was a murmur within the group of soldiers all the while my monster minions stood to the side. They had a mix of looks on their faces from rolling their eyes, shaking their heads, or looking pleased with themselves. I could pick up a few of the words the soldiers were whispering amongst themselves.

  “Wait, you don’t mean those defectors from the reports?”

  “I thought they were executed, if they really joined that monster’s group then should we do so?”

  One of them nervously decided to speak up and asked a question. “U-uhm little lizard.”

  Mordred immediately growled on his comment which made the soldier jumped as he corrected himself “Oh I mean Mr. Kobold sir! I must know, what do you plan to do with the kingdom once you have taken over? And what about the current king?”

  …. Heh, after everything that has happened, I knew what I wanted from the kingdom. As for the king, well there was only one thing I wanted to do with him. I raised my claws up high in the air as I made my declaration. “Quite simple really, for the kingdom I merely wish to have it for myself and make it prosper as something that is mine! As for the king I think it was time for him to pay for all that he has done tenfold!”

  They all seemed rather shocked over my statement, not sure if they could believe it. One of them even questioned it. “R-really? …. You’ll make that fat bastard pay?!”

  “I-if what you’re saying is true then fuck it! I never liked the knight commander or that pig of a king! I rather take my chances with a little monster instead!”

  …There they go again with the little comment I swear, if I weren’t going high off of this moment, I would have something to say about that. Instead, I began to march forth. My monster minions followed behind as the soldiers started to loudly cheer!

  “Leave this to me and my monster minions! I rather show you what I’ll accomplish, all I ask if you don’t get in my way!”

  I continued to walk towards the castle, inching closer as my monster minions cheered me on. I even got a message from Zeph.

  {Hey, wanted to let you know we finished up here. All the soldiers at the wall are safely secured and there are no major injuries from your troop. Also, nice speech. Heard it all the way from up here. ~}

  {Yeah yeah, I’m heading over at the castle. Can you make sure the civilians are gathered up and safe. Once I’m done, I’ll be going over there next.}

  {On it, bossman.}

  With that settled I have practically conquered the entire kingdom. All that was left was to settle matters with that pig. Hope you enjoyed yourself because I’ll be taking your throne!!
