"Take some more, to feel ok, take some more, to carry the day. Take some more to feel ok, to car-ry the day..." I mutter.

"What was that?" Lord Carrio asked.

"Nothing, my lord." I state. He nods, and returns to whatever he is doing on that pad of his.

Honestly, I should have seen this coming. Making fun of Anibeli had been the highlight of my recent memory, but all good things come with a price, it seems. And the price for my amusement is babysitting this man child. I must admit. Well played, my dear friend. Well played indeed.

I will be frank. Even if I had just met the man without any prior opinions, I still would have disliked him. He is slow, incapable, and downright irritating. If he had been born a noble dynast in the old day's, he would have been culled via assassination. I might have been hired to do it!

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

But, I digress. I stand around, and do errands. Now, if that was all, I would be neutral about this situation. But, he has a tendency to talk to himself about how great he is. This annoys me greatly. That, along with a few other things, has not endeared himself to me.

He is rather mildly xenophobic, which is a rather interesting surprise. Only moderate cursing and defamation. I expected far more slander if I'm being honest. But, no matter how daft, rogue traders do tend to be rather more lenient in the matters of human-alien relations.

Now, what does surprise me is the... limited amount of church time. Anibeli goes once every day at least, mostly for a small prayer or some such. To each their own, I don't intrude or make fun. But Carrio? I've seen him go to the local chapel maybe once.

When asked, he says he worships in private. If I had eyes, they would have narrowed at that. Humans worshiped en mass. Sure, they might have small religious baubles, and they might pray alone at times. But, most of the crew I had seen worship at the church a minimum of 4 times per week. Sometimes more.

I report everything to Anibeli, and she agrees. It's odd. But, we need the man for now. But, I will be glad to be rid of him. So very glad indeed.
