Vol.6 Ch.331 Quinus’s Blueprints. ? ish

Back in the King's Chamber. He was having a meeting with multiple people. Most notable was his son, Quinus was leading this meeting with a couple of dwarves and a few nobles.

Quinus had brought a bunch of rolled up pieces of parchment. Some were small, others rge. But all of them had detailed blueprints on them.

"These are the pns that are needed to help improve the people's standard of living. I know it seems like a lot but trust me, this will make a huge difference," the prince spoke with a serious tone.

Johan looked at the blueprints and nodded his head and acted like he knew what Quinus was talking about. But he couldn't make heads or tails of the damn things.

Lord Brice, Earl Nathaniel, and King Cyndre were in a simir boat as Johan, but Zellin and Arathar were stary eyed as they grabbed one blueprints.

"Steam powered engines!? Railroads!?" Zellin shouted in amazement.

"Look at this! A swear treatment pnt!? Hold on!? Electrical Grid? Alternating current!?" Arathar excimed as the dwarf went from one blueprint to another.

"These are ingenious!... Your Highness? Are you sure your not part dwarf!? Cause these are incredible!" Baron Zellin shouted as he looked at Quinus.

Quinus just chuckled at that. "No, Lord Zellin. I'm not a dwarf. But, I would like to think of myself as a dwarf at heart. Always trying to find ways to improve the lives of everyone around me."

  Arathar ughed heartily at that.

"I thought you showed me your best ideas with that airship and steam power pnt. But you've been holding out on us haven't you! Cyndre!? This boy of yours is going to lead our kingdom to prosperity! I say we do everything in our power to get him crowned and married to Lady Rya!" Arathar roared out as he smmed his fist on the table.

Cyndre flinched and sighed at the crassness of the old noble dwarf.

"Lord Arathar... We are pleased that you're happy with the Crown Prince's work, but can you please refer to his majesty as his majesty?" Lord Brice chimed in, as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Pah! Brice, I'll call him his majesty when he starts realizing what a genius his son is! You saw the blueprints, didn't ya? Don't you feel it, Johan!?" the old dwarf shouted at the young lord.

"I... I don't see what is so important about a sewer system. Doesn't the aqueducts provide the water we need in areas that aren't close to the rivers?" Johan asked the old dwarf.

"Aye, they do. But what happens when the river dries up!? Like in the dry season. Or what happens when it floods too much like it does in the wet season!?"

Johan looked confused, "So, these sewer systems control the flow of water better? Wouldn't that just add more cost to the construction and maintenance?"

"You're looking at it all wrong, Johan. You have to look at the bigger picture. When it rains, the sewers take the extra water into the pipes. If there is flooding in the city, the pipes can be used as drainage. This allows people to use the roads and sidewalks. It also allows anyone to access water regardless if they have a mana vein or not. Plus the Crown Prince put in pns that deal with raw sewage. But not only that he created a treatment pnt that makes the water safe to drink! This will reduce the number of people getting sick. And if we can figure out how to use that steam engine and pump the water, the possibilities are endless." Lord Zellin expined.

Earl Nathaniel, Lord Johan, and Lord Brice started understanding what the dwarves were trying to tell them.

"You mean, we could create a whole new set of industries using these technologies?" Lord Nathaniel asked.

"Yes! We could power many types of machines. We could make it easier for people to work. This means more money being brought into the Kingdom." Lord Zellin smiled, then he frowned. "The only issue we have is that we're going to need more iron—"

"We also need to create pstics for certain types of pipes," Quinus chimed in.

  "Pstics?" Arathar asked.

"Yes, you wouldn't be familiar with pstic since it requires more chemistry—oh, um... Alchemy to create it. It's a more malleable material than the cy and ceramic, and it doesn't corrode or leak as much."

"Hmm? Can you make weapons or armor from it?" Arathar asked.

Quinus couldn't help but smirk at the old dwarf. "By itself, no. Maybe there's a way to utilize liquid ether, but that's uncharted territory..." The Crown Prince paused for a moment and looked at everyone as if he was weighing his options.

Arathar smirked, "You have another idea don't you, d."

Quinus sighed and scratch the back of his, "I'm that obvious, huh?" He paused again, then pulled out another roll of parchments. "Alright, these are top my top secret blueprints for a weapons for common soldiers to be able to fight Maja Warriors and Mages."

All the men became an intrigued by the parchment. "How can a common soldier take on a Maja Warrior. I mean no ill will towards this, your Highness, but that seems farfetched." Lord Brice expined.

Quinus smirked, "I understand your skepticism, but this is my designs for a thing I like to call a rifle."

The Crown Prince unrolled a series of diagrams and blueprints on a table, showing a weapon with a stock and a long tube. The tube had a metal cylinder inside. One drawing looked like an old-school flintlock style rifle to a more modern, auto loader, rifle that has a mag well and a trigger guard. It looked simir to the HK G36 assault rifle that was used by the German military.

"So, these weapons can use thermopstic polymer bodies to lighten the weight and to be a bit more resistant to elemental attacks," Quinus began.

Arathar hands were shaking as he slowly and carefully picked up the pns for the weapon.

  "Th-These are... W-Words can't describe these."

Arathar mind was racing with all types of possibilities to add enchantments to these weapons.

Cyndre on the other hand wasn't sure what made these pns so special.

"Son, what makes this weapon so special? And are we sure that a common soldier can fight a Maja with no problems with these?... What were they called again? Rifles?"

"For most Maja and Mages, yes. They're probably still have trouble with Maja that have Elite Level Mana Veins, but lower level Veins will be no problem. The only issue I'm having is coming up with gun powder," Quinus answered.

Arathar popped his head up and was curious about what the Prince meant.

"Gunpowder?" Lord Brice was now curious about this weapon.

Quinus nodded and pulled out a small piece of parchment that had chemical formus written on it. Arathar and Zellin's widened as the two were very interested in this topic.

"So the fuel to push the projectile through the rifled barrel is called gunpowder. It is a mixture of charcoal, sulfur, and potassium nitrate. These three elements are usually mixed in by weight. So if we want to make one pound of gunpowder, the mixture needs to be 75% potassium nitrate, 15% charcoal, and 10% sulfur. If you mix them together correctly it will burn up quickly. And this is how a weapon called a rifle fires off a bullet."

Lord Brice, Cyndre, and Nathaniel had bnk expressions on their faces as they did not know how to respond to this. Arathar on the other hand was very excited and wanted to try his hand at making gunpowder.

"So, what's the problem exactly?" Cyndre asked.

"I don't know where we can find a good source of potassium nitrate. There's no way I can have these weapons made without this element. I have no idea where to start with this," Quinus admitted.

All the men began to think and tried to recall if they heard anything about a substance that is simir to the element that is needed for the gunpowder.

"Do you think the Crown Pharmacy in Lomar might have what you're looking for?" Johan wondered out loud.

"No, Raiden specializes in medical alchemy. But there is this local alchemist named Lucas who seems to specialize in non medical potions and elixirs. Maybe he might have an idea or two," Lord Brice said.

Arathar got excited and decided to speak up.

"I think remember reading an old dairy from the old Dwarven Lord of Ironside when our Domain was still a part of the Kingdom of Hjorleif. Before the Mount Skellige colpsed due to over-mining the purple ore they used something called Dragon's Powder. The old miners used it to blow up stubborn rock that would not break away using ordinary tools," Arathar remembered.

'That sounds simir to T.N.T. I wonder if the powder is simir to Gunpowder?' Quinus pondered.

"Dragon's Powder huh? Do you know if we can create some for ourselves?" the prince asked.

"Well, our ancestors who joined the Kingdom of Fiafyr decided to rid themselves of the techniques that caused the destruction of the mountain. I believe that Dragon's Powder is something we need to ask the dwarves of Hjorleif. But those bastards are all cooped up in their mountains to give a rats ass about us. Pfft! They give hard working dwarves a bad name if you ask me!" Arathar said.

Quinus wanted to ugh at the old dwarf who despised the only dwarven Kingdom on Agon. It just goes to show him that the Dwarves of Galfrei Domain are a part of Fiafyr more than the Hjorleif Dwarves.

"But I thought they closed up their borders once the Orc tribes became more aggressive the st 50 years?" Earl Nathaniel reminded them.

"Bah! That's just what those cowards want you to think, Earl. Dwarves were meant to have more pride in protecting their people and their homends! If I had to guess, the Orcs are doing a better job defending the borders than the damn Hjorleif. If there's a threat, Dwarves need to come together and fight the damned bastards! Not hole up in their caves and let the Orcs control the farmnds. I'm sure those noble bastards are using this crisis to control the food supply and hoard it. Bah! I wish we can just march over there and get the information we need without the threat of war. But they don't deserve our attention..." Arathar ranted.

"Alright, alright old man. We get the point. You hate the Hjorleif dwarves. Now calm down before your heart gives out," the earl chuckled.

"Hah! Like I givtohem the satisfaledn of killing me!" Arathar retorted.

A few of the men began to chuckle. Quinus could not help but smile at the old dwarf, but then a idea popped into his head.

"Baron Zellin? Do you think Lord Garlon might be able to get his hands on the Dragon's Powder?"

"Lord Garlon? Ah! He's been having trouble getting over to the Hjorleif border because the Orcs have been causing more havoc than usual. But maybe he might know someone. He is a trader after all. Let me go check. I will send him a letter immediately. Just give me a few minutes to pen a letter," the young dwarf replied.

The Prince nodded as he watched the dwarf head off into his study to send a messenger.

"And I'll reach out to that alchemist named Lucas and see if he can provide any assistance," Lord Brice added.

"Well, I'm interested in creating these sewer systems. I'm done smelling a nasty trine everytime I'm near one. No matter how many enchantments the stink keeps wafting in my face," Arathar grumbled.

Everyone seem excited except for Cyndre who thought all this talk about construction and weird weapons are just a waste of resources and time.

"Ugh... Why doesn't my boy want to go on an adventure or something. All this talk of building sewers and tunnels is so boring. Plus, Duval is going to have a field day when he finds out about this," Cyndre yawned.

Quinus say that his father was looking bored and was getting agitated. And he was about to poke fun at his father until he heard the thumping of armor cd feet.

Everyone turned the the door that lead to the main hall as it was kicked open and the sound of footsteps came rushing inside the King's room.

It was Sir George and Sir Dean. They we're sweating profusely as they looked around the room and spotted the king.

  "George? What's going on—"

"Your Majesty! Lady Rya thought it was a good idea to let her Majesty sy monsters!" Sir George cried out.

Cyndre stood up from his chair and had a concerned look written on the space, "Dammit! I told her that monsters are dangerous. How bad are her injuries!?"

George gnced over at Dean who sighed.

"I-It's the opposite, my King," Sir Dean replied.

Cyndre's fear turned into confusion, "What do you mean?"

Sir George cleared his throat, "The Queen has syed over six monsters, my liege. S-She's experiencing Mana Rush."

Everyone in the room slowly looked at the King who's mind was trying to process the words spoken to him.

"M-My Queen syed monsters? By herself?"

"That doesn't matter! She needs you by her side right now, Father," Quinus cried out.

Sir George nodded his head, "I agree, my liege. We must hurry before she does something rash."

Cyndre hurried out of his chamber and Sir George and Sir Dean followed after him.

They hurried past the guards who quickly snapped into attention and marched down the corridor. Saffron say the King and hurried by his side.

"The Queen! She's trying to masturbate in public! I've been trying to stop her, but she won't listen to me."

Cyndre felt an urge to sprint his way towards the entrance of the castle. He didn't know why his wife was trying to get her hands all over her body, but he needed to stop her.

The three men ran out the castle and went straight to the training grounds were a frantic Queen was fighting to break free from Rya, Nieren, and Tayna.

"You can stop me from getting myself off, dammit! Gah! Let go of—huh!?"

Rianna saw Cyndre running up to her and her face lit up, "Cyndre!"

Cyndre stopped ten feet away from Rianna and he couldn't believe what he saw. Rianna looked gorgeous and her body looked like it was trying to escape her clothes and it turned him on.

  "Y-You're so beautiful, my love."

Rianna was able to free herself from the trio and she started to run towards Cyndre and she leaped into the air, "Cyndre!"

The two royals embraced each other and kissed as if they were newlyweds. Rianna's hands found themselves caressing the king's body and her hands slid down his pants.

  "R-Rianna!? W-We shouldn't be doing—"

"Shut up and give me your cock, baby," Rianna moaned into his ear.

Cyndre's body couldn't resist and he gave into his wife's demands. His erection sprung forth from his pants and Rianna grabbed ahold of it.

  "Oh my...you're bigger than before."

The King's blood pressure shot like a rocket and his lust-filled eyes bore down onto his wife's rge cleavage.

Rianna smirked when her husband's eyes were staring down at her chest and she arched her back so her chest stuck out, "Like what you see?"

Cyndre didn't answer but her picked up Rianna princess style and ran off with her. Rianna was giggling like a teenager and the two were lost in their own little world.

  "My King!?"

"You know how to push my buttons, Rianna."

"Oooo...is that a sword in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

  "Both," Cyndre answered.

Rianna giggled and then squealed as Cyndre pinched her butt through her dress as he ran back to the pace as he was making a B-line for their bedroom.

"Ahem," Sir George coughed into his hand.

Sir George's voice snapped everyone out of the daze they were in and everyone looked at each other with confused looks.

  "What happened?" Nieren asked.

"Something we shall never speak of again," Rya said as commanded her Golems to clean up the area.

Nieren shook her head and turned to look at her sister and her friends who were also shaking their heads.

  "That was...interesting," Tayna remarked.

  "Yeah...I feel dirty," Ysandra said.

  "Me too," Nieren agreed.

"Let's all take a 15 minute break and then let's meet up at the Burrell Study. I never knew I needed to study Noble's names to forget about this," Rya said.

Everyone nodded and headed off to their rooms to decompress before Rya started studying the Ladies of the Court again.
