Soon, hours went by and they had hunted a total of 25 Drakes, 4 of which were at Level 3.

  “Zhen, I don't think Drakes are a good idea.” Anon said, seeing that he only got 8 silver coins for tirelessly killing Drakes the whole day.

  “I will think about it.”

  After Zhen left, Kenji grabbed some food at the Aqua market before heading home to practise [Beam].

  The next day, Kenji again grabbed food at the Aqua market and then met up with others.

  “Today, we are going for the Howlers.” Yesterday, Zhen did some research and came to the conclusion that Howlers were a good target.

  Not only do they live in groups, but their bodies also sell for quite some money.

  “Remember, kill them quickly before they have the chance to transform.” Hiding from a pack of Howlers, Zhen reminded everyone.

  Howlers are Level 3 monsters, but they are a little special.

  In their base form, they are only slightly stronger than level 2 monsters, but after transformation their bodies double, if not triple, in size and their overall stats increase exponentially.

  Unlike Grey Hounds, whose [Wild Power] runs out after a while, the Howlers can maintain their transformation for days.

  Which makes them deadly but also easy to kill if caught off guard.

  Under Zhen's lead, Kenji and Anon quickly closed the distance between them and the pack, while Joon stayed behind and fired an arrow at the adorable-looking Howler.

  When the Howlers had their power-up time disturbed by humans, they got angry and their bodies started twitching.

  With each passing moment, their size kept increasing little by little.

  However, Joon's arrow didn't wait for them to complete their transformation, neither did Zhen, Anon, and Kenji.

  Before the Howlers could finish their transformation, three of them had already fallen.

  The rest completed the transformation, and soon towering Howlers figures looked at Kenji and his team furiously, intending to rip them to shreds.

  But Zhen didn't panic because Kenji still hadn't used [Ki Blade]. Thus, he already considered it a 4 vs 3.

  “Kenji!” Hearing Zhen's call, Kenji launched [Ki Blade] at the easy target.

  The Howlers' towering figures made it extremely easy for Kenji to aim his [Ki Blade].

  With a loud bang, a completely transformed Howler fell to the ground.

  Seeing one more of their companions fall, the rest activated their innate ability and tried to crush the small humans under their feet.

  However, Zhen, Anon, and Kenji easily dodged the incoming attacks and retreated to a safe distance.

  Meanwhile, Kenji still had a lot of juice left in him, so he attacked with another [Ki Blade], badly injuring the Howler.

  “Great work.” Right after Kenji's [Ki Blade] injured the Howler, Zhen dealt the finishing blow.

  With only 2 Howlers remaining, Zhen, Anon, and Joon were easily able to handle them, while Kenji focused on recovering his Ki.

  Before long, all 7 Howlers were dead.

  “Good work, see, this is what I was telling you. We have gotten stronger, but because we were constantly hunting Grey Hounds, none of you noticed it.” Killing so many Level 3 monsters was a first for Zhen and the team.

  “Kenji, I didn't know you could use [Ki Blade] two times.” Turning to Kenji, Zhen said in a delighted voice.

  Kenji being able to use [Ki Blade] two times meant he could kill two Level 3 monsters with ease.

  “It's all thanks…to your help. If I can…increase my reserves…by a few hundred…units, I…should be able to use [Ki Blade]...one more time.”

  Seeing 70 untouched units of Ki lying around, Kenji tried to coax Zhen into letting him collect all the residue Ki.

  “You should have told me earlier.” Zhen agreed to let Kenji get all the Ki the moment he heard the golden words, ‘third [Ki Blade]’.

  All three of them had already passed the 1000-unit mark needed for the third gift, and their skills didn't consume much Ki either, so they didn't have any immediate need to increase their reserves.

  Kenji happily gathered all the Ki while the other three rested.

  After resting, they headed for the next pack. Everything went smoothly, and soon there were six fewer Howlers in the Ancient World.

  With new-found confidence, they headed for the next pack of Howlers.

  “Damn it, Kenji, I told you to help Anon.” Amidst the fight, Zhen's angry voice sounded.

  This was the third pack of Howlers they were fighting, and everything was great.

  Out of 8 Howlers, they were able to kill 4 before they had the chance to transform.

  The rest were not hard to deal with, as Kenji was able to take care of two with [Ki Blade].

  But the last two remaining Howlers had a strange talent that allowed them to become invisible.

  Thankfully, Zhen was able to sense the life force of the Howlers with his Gift, and only because of his instructions were Kenji, Anon, and Joon able to stay alive.

  But when the enemy is invisible, it can be extremely hard to always dodge attacks, especially when the one telling you the location keeps changing his words.

  “Hurry up, it's on your right. Not that right, I meant right in front of you. Act now, it's going for Anon.”

  With Zhen’s vague words, Kenji couldn't pinpoint the location of the Howler.

  “Ah….” As Kenji was waving his sword in the air, he felt his sword touch something. Not letting the Howler get away, Kenji quickly thrust his sword.

  The moment the Howler was hurt, the [Transparent] talent was deactivated, and it soon fell prey to Kenji’s sword.

  “Joon, give Anon the healing potion.” Finally relaxing, Zhen focused on the Howler he was fighting. Although his Gift can sense the life force of creatures, it isn't accurate.

  If the Howler had transformed, then with their towering figures it would have been easier to kill them, even if they were invisible.

  But in their base form, Howlers are small and agile; combined with [Transparent], they are really hard to catch.

  While Zhen was trying to kill the invisible Howler, Anon's condition was getting worse. The Howler had taken a bite out of his abdomen, and his life was hanging by a thread.

  As Kenji killed the invisible Howler, Joon dropped his bow, rushed to Anon and gave him the grade 4 healing potion they got from the treasure chest.

  As the healing potion went down his throat, it started doing its wonders.
