Ch-7

A new scan began as I forced down my anger.

During the comprehensive physical tests starting with strength and agility assessments, watching this seemingly frail body lift a 10kg dumbbell with one hand made me realize the Status Panel's Ability was truly remarkable.

Running 100 meters in just 13 seconds - this body had already surpassed my male form before Awakening.

After two hours of testing, I received my female ID card, Awakened certificate, and Hunters license simultaneously. Though it was just an E-class Hunters license, normally Awakened individuals should register separately for Hunters certification after enrollment, yet they processed everything together this time.

Although my fingerprints showed slight differences from my male ones, the staff said the match rate remained high, which surprised me. How could they match when my palms had clearly shrunk? Probably another miracle created by the Status Panel.

Just as I prepared to leave the center, I remembered the photos taken. Walking out directly would definitely draw attention. While hesitating, Oppa appeared.

  "Tests over?"

  "Yeah."

  "Not going home?"

Seemed he didn't know about the online photos yet. But this guy never cared about being photographed anyway - he'd been chased by paparazzi for years.

"Someone took pictures of us together."

  "So?"

"What if reporters bother us when we go out?"

"Come on, it won't be that bad."

Damn this annoying Oppa, always like this, never minding the paparazzi. Living like a model student with hardly any scandals, still single at 26.

I was about to get angry but knew it would be pointless. Then Oppa smiled and handed me a cap, mask, and sunglasses.

What? He prepared them in advance?

My usually annoying brother felt especially punchable today.

I snatched the gear and put it on quickly, leaving the welfare center smoothly and catching a taxi. When we got home, Mother greeted us. I gave absent-minded replies before retreating to my room.

Opening the wardrobe revealed a complete overhaul. The men's clothes hanging there yesterday had almost all disappeared, replaced by newly purchased women's outfits. The underwear drawer had been completely renewed too. The familiar wardrobe looked the same outside but had transformed into a complete girl's closet inside.

  "Sigh..."

Remembering how sweaty I felt during the tests, I grabbed fresh clothes and headed for the shower. They say the hardest part is starting? Putting on women's underwear for the second time didn't feel awkward anymore.

Returning to my room in just underwear, I met Mother's gaze on the second floor.

"Don't walk around like that. It's unladylike."

  "Mom? I'm wearing underwear."

"Bring outer clothes next time. And remember to dry your hair."

  "Tch... We're family anyway..."

My verbal resistance crumbled under Mother's stern look.

  "Fine~"

Father returned during dinner. This was my first time seeing him since Awakening. He smiled and hugged me, his transformed daughter.

"I heard you always wanted a daughter?"

"Then why didn't you have a third child?"

Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings.

Father's expression immediately changed. I recalled rumors on the Hunters forum: Awakened individuals, especially those with enhanced physical abilities, often possessed excessive sexual capacity. Relationships with ordinary humans always left one party overwhelmed. This happened particularly with physical enhancement types, so the forum often recommended Awakened individuals date within their community.

  Seemed Father understood this well.

Later he secretly slipped me a card - not the usual allowance account - telling me "Don't tell Mom, spend it moderately."

Oppa missed family dinner due to overtime work. Si-hyun sent an important message:

  •   -2031 Hunter Basic Education Curriculum (link)

  •

Clicking the link revealed a training course starting in ten days, covering fundamental knowledge about Hunter life. Although some become Hunters without training, it's better to attend, right?

  = I'll register

  •   -Good

  •

= I'll ask Mother to train me in combat

  •   -Don't worry, I have a private instructor too

  •

Did you hire a coach using your civil servant savings? I should also learn combat skills from Mother before the training.

Using a spear like her seems good. Don't novels say "a hundred days for spear, a thousand for blade, ten thousand for sword"? Spears are easy to learn and powerful, and aren't forums full of praise for spears too!

Falling asleep with the thought "Hunters should use spears."

Of course, I completely failed to realize those praising spears weren't on Hunter forums, but in novel-related communities.

In the chaotic city, I smoothly swung my spear to take down Monsters, earning cheers.

Mother quickly adapted to the spear too, praising my combat skills.

Oppa acknowledged my performance in protecting the city and eliminating Monsters.

Father proudly boasted everywhere, saying his coworkers and neighbors praised him for having a good son.

The dream ended with Oppa and me standing together as S-Class Hunters, becoming righteous spears guarding Korea.

Under the morning light, hazy consciousness gradually cleared.

Though I remembered having a happy dream, the details were vague.

Only the feeling of happiness remained.

  "Mm..."

Waking up with an inexplicable tightness in my chest.

Lying flat meant gravity pressed on my breasts, and this discomfort proved more annoying than expected.

I casually adjusted my clothes and left the room.

These breasts were truly troublesome, heavy, bulky, hot and sweaty, their presence clinging to my upper body more intensely than imagined.

"Sigh, smaller breasts would definitely be more comfortable."

Just outside, I ran into Oppa coming out of his room too.

"Did you get back alright last night?"

"Yeah. So did you resolve the photo issue?"

"Ah, handled it casually. They didn't catch your face anyway."

Fortunately, it didn't attract attention. Though unsure how exactly he dealt with it, after breakfast I asked Mother to teach me spear techniques.

Mother first had me do basic physical and flexibility training before starting instruction.

After confirming my flexibility, strength, and dynamic vision met standards, Mother began teaching spear fundamentals.

From basic techniques to staff basics, of course I couldn't master them in a short time, and my movements were clumsy. But Mother said:

"Actually, you don't need to worry about these formal techniques. Thrust however feels natural, block however is convenient."

This theory was puzzling, then why learn spear techniques at all?

"Spear techniques are essentially for humans killing each other. Most Monsters don't walk on two legs or use Weapons, so sticking to traditional forms just adds unnecessary burden."

She said when facing a charging boar, brute force works better than posing in stances.

What truly matters is the power and agility from absolute attributes.

"That's why Hunters rarely use spears. Sword and shield combinations are much safer."

After all, shields can block ranged attacks, and swords are easier to hit with than spears.

But I still didn't want to give up the spear.

After several days of such training, the day before basic Hunter training began, Oppa brought back equipment.

"These should last you a long time."

He set down two cases, one large, one small. The large case held protective gear, the long case contained a spear.

"The armor is made from A-Class Emperor Scorpion carapace and Minotaur leather, lightweight yet durable. The boots are crafted from Wyvern Beast hide and scales. Oh, these gloves are an Artifact, they boost strength by one tier if your base attribute is below C-Class. As for the spear... they say it was forged from World Tree wood? Cost a fortune."

The entire set shimmered with latent energy.

  "This should keep you safe."

"Right? By the way, the World Tree spear requires a blood pact. Hurry up and bond with it."

Anxiously, I pressed my fingertip to the spearhead, the wooden blade proved sharp enough to draw blood instantly. As droplets touched the shaft, a brilliant flash erupted. The spear vanished, replaced by a strange resonance flowing through my veins.

  "Incredible."

"Well, it did cost two billion."

  "T-two billion?!"

"Only because it can’t reshape itself, and few use spears these days."

  That’s considered cheap?

With a thought, the spear materialized in my palm. Another mental command made it disappear.

"So this is what bonding means."

After donning the half-finger Artifact gloves, my Status Panel showed my strength attribute had risen to C-Class.

"The gloves aren’t soul-bound. Don’t let anyone steal them."

I’d need to store them at home and only carry them when crossing Gates.

  "Oppa, thank you."

He suddenly ruffled my hair roughly.

Clutching the gear, I dashed upstairs.

Though he could be infuriating, I truly appreciated receiving such support.

  "Thank you... Oppa."

Mortified, I raced up the steps before he could see my burning face.
